My son came home from Univ Of Mich…
My son came home from Univ Of Mich hospital after tongue cancer surgery with a trach and feeding tube. Option Care delivered nutren that day, however, had to call for IV pole and feeding bags. Now I can't get anyone to help getting more nutrition delivered, just keep getting put on hold and no one ever answers after getting transferred. He needs more nutren for his feeding tube. Need help but can't get it from them.
Scary experience with Optioncare for home TPN
I just had a very scary experience with Optioncare. I was supposed to have a nurse come today for my refresher for my TPN. The nurse arrived at my house and could barely walk. I had to half carry her up the steps to my porch. I was in a cross because the tubing for my pump was stuck to the cap on my central line. I needed go unscrew it but couldn’t for the life of me get it off. When I finally got the horse inside she looked at it and decided we needed players to get it off. She had severe mobility issues with her hands as well so she couldn’t get the gloves on, much less pry the tubing off my line. My husband then needed two sets of players to get it off. But then the nurse said we needed to pull the old tube out of the spiked bag and I said the tpn was going to flow everywhere but she didn’t listen so then we ended up with TPN all over my hardwood floors. She then proceeded to set up my pump with the new tubing wrong three times before she got it right and then spent 10 minutes priming it because she couldn’t hold the button down go prime it. Asked my husband to use her players to get the tubing unstuck from my central line. She then flushed my line with saline but there were a bunch of air bubbles and as soon as she did it my chest was burning and I felt like I was breathing in Lysol. I was freaking out but she told me I was just all worked up and needed to drink water and calm down. The pain lasted about 2 hours. After my line was running my husband needed to supervise her out because she was waiting for a driver to pick her up but like I said she could barely walk and she almost fell down our steps so my husband had to help her to the car. The driver had to help her get in the car. She didn’t address the problem I had with my dressing so that was a waste.
I called the after hour lines for Optioncare and was put on hold 3 times. At first they didn’t even have a record of me as a patient. I had to repeat this traumatic experience three times before being passed to the supervisor that I asked for from the start. Now I’m going into the weekend with my new TPN supplier feeling extremely unsafe. Do better Optioncare. I’m praying that Nutrishare can take over my care soon.
If you have to chose between option…
If you have to chose between option health and hospice I would go with the latter because you will likely be dead before you get your medications.
Option Care will not address my concern…
Option Care will not address my concern after multiple phone calls and mailing of documentation. I keep getting statement of past due for services a year ago.
I was told all medicine, supplies, and in home nursing care was covered under Medicare and Supplemental Ins.
I submitted Medicare Statements showing they billed for the medicine and supplies, but never billed services. They refuse to acknowledge my information and keep sending statements for past due services.
A representative told me on the phone he would note my file accordingly, but they never pay any attention to it.
This is the worst customer service and intentional disregard for resolving the matter. I am in poor health and their harassment for over year has further affected my health.

Option Care Jacksonville had me come to…
Option Care Jacksonville had me come to there "medical facility" at 9143 Phillips Hwy, Unit 300 Jax, Fl to remove my picc line because the nurse that came to my house got upset because I wasn't available before my appointment time Thursday at 3pm and since I was her last patient she wanted to start an early labor day weekend; with gloves on, picc line dressing kit open she dropped everything, grabbed her purse and walked out the door, left me hanging with no regard for my well being. The office manager with no staff available had me Uber Friday evening to there office to remove the picc line. I get there and this rude nurse asking me and who are you like if I was intruding. Barely put gloves on and half cleaned around my picc line and removed it with no gentleness at all. I ask where was she going to disposed of the infusion medication she took off and she said in the trash, to what I responded that medication needed special disposal methods. Option care did not even have a sharps container in that office and my bloody pic line went straight into a regular trash can. She ask the pharmacist about the infusion she removed from me and they said they didn't have the boxes to take it, that I needed to take my own infusion pump back with me. Ridiculous!!! Option Care Gainesville Pharmacy will have random uber drivers deliver medications at all kind of hours in the early morning, 1,2,3 a clock in the morning and they don't care if you miss a dose or not. This Company needs to be reported all the way Around. So please do yourself a favor and to the ones that don't have a voice and report this uncaring company. Someone needs to investigate and close this business, people need to stop using them and they need to get reported, because they are servicing patients that already are having to deal with a sickness or health issues while this people just care about there metrics and pockets. Please report them to all the appropriate authorities as many times as you need too, to your insurance and to whatever business refer them or suggested you to use them.
Option Care Health was supposed to have my infusion supplies at my front door 4 DAYS AGO and my order was forgotten about by the Technician!!!!!!
Option Care Health was supposed to have my supplies to me LAST Friday evening at the latest, 4 DAYS LATER I am STILL waiting for my delivery!!! I'm definitely thinking of finding out just who is in charge over this 3 ring circus and filing a MAJOR complaint!!!! The Pharmacist told me that the person that was tasked with assembling my order for LAST Friday "forgot, to do her job"!!! That should have resulted in her IMMEDIATE TERMINATION, did it?? I HIGHLY doubt it, knowing how Atlanta and the surrounding area is with trying to find good capable, COMPETENT workers!! BTW I called Option Care and was informed that my infusion supplies wouldn't be delivered until 3 O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING!!!!! These supplies should have been at my door BY NOON today because of their monumental foul up!!!!! I WILL BE CONTACTING THE HOME OFFICE IN THE MORNING AND I WILL BE RAISING HOLY HELL ABOUT THIS INCOMPETENT BEHAVIOR, AND LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!
They are not just incompetent they are…
They are not just incompetent they are really scary. They wanted out of pocket money of $280 a week for nurse and supplies. They are knowingly breaking Federal Law by either not making a claim or billing the wrong part of insurance. It appears that at least one floor at the hospital that I was at are in with them. The home nurse that I got was great and confused when her order was to-- remove the pic line-- that I had just had put in. My insurance company was great, sending the information to the hospital floor manager who first said that she couldn't read 210 pages and then admitted that she just had the highlighted part the insurance staff had sent and I wanted a hard copy which she said that she would print out immediately but left the building. Meanwhile sending in a nurse? who was rude, lied and demanded to know what I wanted. A distraction. I felt as if I was dealing with the mafia. I just recently received a lower bill from them but I'm supposed to have no co-pay with my insurance. Now making their payment still about $400 instead of over $1,000. My daughter had to pay $280 before they would start treatment. It's a creepy company. People always blame the insurance company but what I also had with a one patient use of a wound vac was money up front and then more money because you had to let them know when you- stopped- using it. Not send anything back. It was rent to own apparently. Crazy stuff.
OPTION CARE'S UNSANITARY AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS POLICIES!!!
To start with my infusion supplies were supposed to be at my door within 8 hours of my discharge from the hospital, they showed up at my house at 5 AM the next day!!! Then there is the issue of the IV supplies, you would think if they shipped 21 doses, 1 IV bag EVERY 8 HOURS that they would send enough administration sets for the 21 doses, they sent 7 sets and NOT ONCE in the paperwork that accompanied those supplies did they explain to reuse each set over a 24 hour usage!!! I will be telling my doctors and the state boards about this UNSANITARY and UNSAFE POLICY of theirs!!!
I have to take two bags of saline per…
I have to take two bags of saline per day for hydration. I have no intestines due to several rounds with cancer and have had experimental surgery.. This need for saline is a life threatening situation. I am under the care of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Option Care Health has been and is nothing but hell from day one. I have been doing these IV since '89 or so. I know what is covered and what is not. I have taught lessons at Mercy and at infusion companies to other patients. I have always had full coverage insurance now. They are the only infusion company in Rochester, MN so you have no choice. When we talked with their 'representative' at that time was a local nurse, I think. I now have a 'representative who by her phone number does not live in this area but is most likely 2 hours away in the big city. During this conversation when we first talked to them in person while in the Mayo hospital we discussed insurance, planning, filing, coverage, fiances and cost. They knew and were told to her face by my partner and I that after I filed out of pocket expense of 2000.00 My bill would be fully paid by insurance. We discussed the individual medical items I had used in the past and coverage. We discussed my past experience, training and procedures. They knew exactly what we understood this arrangement to be, what to plan, and how exactly we expected to pay and could afford. They knew exactly what we thought was the game plan. They knew. They agreed, never voice and changes from what we had said we understood and NEVER mention Per Diem when we rattled off what I needed and would us. A nurse representative brought to the items to teach' me to use. There was no misunderstand about equipment or what was expect as a company or as a client. I commented on the medical items commenting I had used before for years and in some cases were in the same brands I had used. So last monthly we tallied up what I had paid by my check payments and found that I had paid over the 2000.00 out of pocket cap fee. I was entitled to a reimbursement and insurance should have been filed and their accounting department should have caught it. Let me say that both my partner and I have worked for Pricewaterhouse Coopers, LLP. I have worked for 2 large law firms as well. We were familiar to these areas. We had to call them back after some time and said after some fast talking they told us we were wrong. My insurance only covered my bags of hydration (19.00 per bag). That they had the tubing, the sterile covers & caps to the ends of tubing and chest pic line, saline flushes, alcohol pads, change kits and all medical equipment need to administer the IV bags needed for infusion were covered under Per Diem. Now, when you get your invoice, of sorts, you get no information of costs of each item. You get no cost of the transportation. You get no idea of what your are paying for and how much is used or how much is being charge to what item in what category. category. I check with UPS or Fed Ex and the 2-3 boxes that OCH send me could be shipped for under 65.00. They use some transport company from which I could never get a price. My first billing from them was for over 800.00; that is with insurance paying the 19.00 per bag of saline. The second billing where I took no supplies or shipments from them for three weeks using old supplies from my former infusion company in Oklahoma and I finally ran out having to use OCH was over 590.00 approximately. I have lived in three states, been with several infusion companies and been trained by Mercy Hospital and two infusion companies to give my infusion by myself. Option care provided no assistance. The items haven't change in over 20 years and I have never had to pay over maybe 200.00 at the most. When I asked about Per Diem I got such a run around, no clarification and absolutely no information. They refused to give me any prices so I could figure out what I was paying. One 'representative' told me that Per Diem was' just a little bit of everything' of which she couldn't name one thing. And you want to talk to the billing department or the office in downtown Rochester - good luck with that. You can't get anyone but a 'representative' on the phone, eventually, who is not in this area. I told them about other companies I had dealt with and why NEVER, BUT NEVER was Per Diem ever spoken. And they never mentioned it when we discussed signing up with their services. I have been calling companies to order my supplies direct and then try getting reimburse from medicare and w couple are working with me. Companies I spoke with NOT ONE company had ever heard about Per Diem. This is ongoing and I hope never have to used this company. I don't think honest and integrity is words to use in conjunction with thier business standards or character as a business. By the way last I checked on customer care and satisfaction they rated 1.8
Do not trust this Pharmacy at all
Do not trust this Pharmacy at all. Over the last six weeks it has been nothing but hell and frustration dealing with this company. They can not keep the orders straight, deliver on time or properly prepare the prescription. They are suppose to send all IV medications on ice and they have not multiple times which in turn the whole batch is ruined before it arrives, in turn making my Elderly father miss important doses for his medication. The Pharmacist and Techs are extremely rude and clearly do not care about the health and wellbeing of the patients they only care about howe much money they get from the insurance. If you value yourself or someone you care for I would demand a different pharmacy.
Nurses at Las Vegas site
I gave Option Care 5 Stars only because of 1 nurse and Teresa who schedules my appointments . I’m talking about the Las Vegas site. Anna RN is the only reason I’ve gone here. I will not have any nurse but her. She is so knowledgeable, her skills are excellent and all the nurses go to her if they have questions about a procedure etc…. She is so likable and efficient. She is an Asset to your company ! YOU CORPORATE LEADERS NEED TO REWARD HER FOR HER DEDICATION AND KNOWLEDGE AND PATIENTS SATISFACTION! If you lost her you would definitely lose my business and several more customers it doesn’t take a genius to see why you have 1.6 Stars…… some of your managers are not very nice and hard to work for.Bring the moral down! Need to do more for your nurses because they are your backbone. I’ve been a customer for I think 6 years so I see what’s going on. I’m a retired ICU nurse and
when the CEO or Vice President recognizes your work … happy staff vs happy patients. As I have stated before I’m not a fan of your nurse manager. She is a bully and I know for sure customers have left because of her because hey told me as they walked out . A 1.6 rating … shame on you if you blame your nursing staff . I like all the nurses at LAs Vegas clinic but Anna RN IS YOUR SHINING STAR AND THE NURSE I TEYST! The last time I complained about this nurse manager , I was told corporate would talk to her and do something. I see nothing so if you don’t follow through then no wonder your rating sucks….. Next your business office is a joke and customers complain about how incompetent they are and still you do nothing. My favorite hospitals ( I was a traveling ICU nurse) I worked we had great managers and we were appreciated. The other hospitals I worked at where the managers were lazy , rude and felt like management didn’t care was not a good workplace.. Also how do you get new patients/customers if you have a 1.6 rating? To be 100% honest I would never work for your Las Vegas manager. As a nurse only, I have No respect for her. I feel kinda bad bitching about her but that’s her fault. My Experience every time at Your Option Care Las Vegas site is always 5 Stars due to Anna RN
My Experience with Option Care
I’ve been receiving infusions from this company for 3 years. I have had countless issues with them. I have always been polite and when needed, expressed the urgency of an upcoming infusion date.
Recently I’ve been completely unable to reach the pharmacy department for a refill for the past few days. When I finally did receive a call back, they told me they did not have doctors orders and transferred me to the intake department who communicated the pharmacy usually calls the doctor themselves if they just need an order renewal. The intake department was also very confused as to why they transferred me to their department.
I ended up calling my doctor’s office who was able to reach them and verified they have the orders and authorization. This is just one of the many issues I’ve had with them. Please be careful. I’ve missed infusion dates before because of issues on their behalf. I’m considering going through an infusion site now to avoid all of these close calls. It’s very stressful when I have an infusion coming up and I am unable to reach them or problems like these arise. I don’t want to handle any more close calls. Especially when the risk is my health.
They refused to answer the phone
They refused to answer the phone. They have not answered when my doctor called or when I called. We are waiting for them to deliver medicine and can’t get through.
Stay away at all costs
Stay away at all costs! All reviews are 100% true, they must pay terrible wages and be understaffed. They do not answer calls and when they say they will call back they never do. Do not rely on this hack show for your meds, you wont make it!
Look elsewhere
Look elsewhere for services. Stopped services before a nurse arrived. Although a sweet lady that helped with set up to receive services. Afterwards, services with nursing was unprofessional and disrespectful. Recieved an email to address the problems in writing. A helpful tip is to place problems in writing and speak to a nurse first to set up an appointment for home services before medication arrives. Finally, you have other options for services, take them by asking your Dr. for a referral to a different company!
Horrible Service - Go Elsewhere!
Horrible service. I had Sepsis and was on IV antibiotics. Called Option Care for help hooking up the IV. No call back after 12 hours and multiple calls to them. Missed my dose entirely and about to miss a second dose. I called the hospital and had an answer in about 10 minutes. AVOID "OPTION CARE" IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. If I could give zero stars I would. I should clarify that after 12 hours (and missing an entire dose), I was able to speak with a "nurse" who must also do daycare at the same time. I couldn't hear her over the crying/screaming baby that was obviously right next to the phone. When I told her that I couldn't hear her, and asked her to put the baby in another room, she told me to "just go to the emergency room" and hung up on me.
Not impressed at all.
So far, I am extremely un impressed with the whole thing.
I was told by my Option Care Rep Julie at Mayo Rochester,MN that supplies with everything I need would be delivered. Not delivered yet. I called 1 Option Care phone # and they don't answer. I call my Rep and wasn't able to talk to her. I then left her a VM saying I only had 1 day of formula left.
No communication from Julie.
About 08:30 PM I got a knock on my door. It was a very irate Option Care delivery person admonished me " you need to answer your phone!, there are other people waiting! First, I explained my phone had been charging. He kept trying to make his point. He didn't have any customer service ability at all. NO ONE treats me like that at my own house. Extremely disappointed so far.
Terrible customer service
Just really blunt, crappy customer service from start to finish. Amie Skinner was the Nutrition Care Coordinator we worked with and she just seems like she hates her job.
