I highly recommend this material for any pre-registration optometrist who wants to make their life easier and be more successful in the long term, not just for the sake of passing the exams.

I subscribed to Optotutor and set up a monthly direct debit of £35, and every penny was worth it.

If you have passed stages 1 and 2, I suggest using the Optotutor OSCE workbook, which is available as a physical copy for £25. This includes access to video materials, and Bansi will send you an OSCE study plan for free. The OCSE Masterclass option is available for £100 a month, which is top-notch with so many video examples.

In conclusion, I encourage every pre-registration student to use this guide alongside their university notes. Hats off to Bansi and her team!

I highly recommend this material for any pre-reg would like to make their life easier and more successful for the longterm as optom, not just passing OSCEs. I feel more confident and sure about communication, history taking and reaching a diagnosis. I cannot stress it enough how useful is all of the materials online. I started by purchasing history taking only, ended up buying the whole bundle including stage 1 and 2 although I was at OSCE stage. Some of the questions I asked all optom in store they couldn’t answer regarding dispensing and BVD, I found the answer in optotutor books with simple and easy way to understand and remember.

I highly recommend Optotutor for any pre-reg optometrists looking for comprehensive support throughout their journey. The online portal, books, and OSCE resources are incredibly helpful, offering in-depth knowledge and practical guidance for each stage. Bansi's personal touch through 1-to-1 sessions and workshops is fantastic, helping to build confidence and refine techniques. Her dedication, including setting up group chats for additional support, is unmatched. Thanks to her guidance, I passed all my exams on the first attempt and feel much more prepared in my career. I was in such a muddle during stage 1.
Her online portal was great to have throughout my pre-reg
I had several 1-1 zoom meetings with her so I could go through the comptencies I felt less confident in, then when it came to my first observation, I met in her in person to have a full, honest review of my routine eye test. She helped me fine tune my techniques and mentioned things I had to start introducing in my routine before the assessment to demonstrate fluency.
I went it way more confident than I would have without her.

Stage 2 - as Soon as I passed stage one, she encouraged me not to stop the grind and prepare for stage two. She was 100% right. The OA notes and lectures were so helpful. Even when I felt too tired to study - I had her lectures on repeat in the background. I passed first time.

OSCE- I had 6 weeks before my OSCE and used her new OSCE portal and worked through it. It gave me such a good routine. I passed first time.

6-months qualified now - A year ago, I wouldn’t have dreamed to have the confidence and appreciation for the job that I have now.

Pre-registration is really hard and you will need to be organised. Lots of work, but sometimes we do not know how to perform the last OSCE and as it happened to me, I did not know how to start with my preparation for it. I have all the books, as it was a guide for CL, Binocular vision, etc and it helped me a lot during the first stages. For the OSCE preparation, I used the online portal which helped me to study at my own pace and to find the right way to prepare for each area such as communication, data interpretation, etc. Couple months before my OSCE date, Bansi released the Online OSCE workshop, which was my favourite resource. More scenarios to practise, more videos and you also had the possibility to see how to perform properly the stations and what was the common mistakes and how to avoid them. It was so good to test yourself and to see your mistakes. Also, Bansi had a Teams group chat with other pre-reg students where we could ask questions and she was 24/7 replying to us and helping us during all the journey. I would definitely recommend Optotutor to all the pre-regs!! 🎊👏🏼

I honestly don't think I would've qualified without Bansi's kind and helpful input, books, portal and OSCE workshop! I wish I had found her sooner! Highly recommend for any pre-reg. Very useful materials for stage 2 & osces 👌

I had the pleasure of Bansi helping me out for 2 of my resits. This included a combination of 1-1’s, group sessions & her fantastic charity event call (deffo recommend all btw!!). Hands down, OptoTutor was one of the best resources I used for OSCE prep. The online portal was great, & had a huge range of osce style questions & answers. I would also strongly recommend purchasing her revision book, a great tool for testing yourself.

I honestly don’t think I could have done it without her help!! As well as working, making time for herself & her family, any spare time she had , it seemed like it was dedicated straight to her students! The sheer determination she had to help us through our revision , & even addressing other things such as dealing with stress / anxiety as you’re revising (on her optotutor groupchat) was amazing, because it’s so easy to just want to give up after so much revision, it’s very draining, especially after you don’t get the result you wanted. But Bansi was so supportive & even in her spare time , she’d still be happy to help - even to the point of calling you to offer motivation / advice. These aren’t easy things to juggle all at once, especially just for one woman, so I really am grateful to all of the help she gave.

I can’t thank Bansi enough for her continuous support, whenever I was stuck or had a question she was always there to help. The one Bootcamp session I went to was absolutely amazing - thorough feedback was given and numerous scenarios were dealt with to help understand what the OSCE would be like. I can’t forget about the online portal and books - which were very detailed and broken down to understand and helped me throughout my pre-reg.

It has everything you need for pre reg- for me I mainly used this for stage 2 and OSCE. The scenarios are BRILLIANT. I feel like they really helped me get to grips with what actual scenarios would come up in the OSCEs. It's helped a great deal so definitely recommend 👌

Bansi is the best tutor!!!! I was so lost in my pre reg year and so confused. Her online portal sorted my pre reg. I wish I had bought her portal from stage 1. However it was totally worth it🙌 if you are a pre reg student I definitely recommend her resources and she goes above and beyond to help and explain. My favourite book is the OSCE rev workbook- that’s the best thing I have bought this year so far. It helped me to prepare for my OSCEs and believe me or not it was far better than some of the other mock osce sessions that I attended. So helpful and well organised☺️. Also before you attend OSCEs make sure you atleast attend her Rev session it’s so good totally recommend her as your guide 💯💯💯

Optoutor group OSCE was extremely useful as individuals completed MOCK stations and in depth constructive feedback was given by Bansi. It was very in depth and extremely beneficial, especially the hints and tips and really good value for the money. 100% recommend to book if sitting OSCEs.

I believe this is a very beneficial course and would recommend to all Pre-reg students.

Optotutor was able to dissect my answers and give me feedback to help improve all my answers.

Furthermore, I was given additional resources with a plan of action to take home to help me revise for the exam.

Hands down one of the best pre reg tutors you can have! Both Bansi and her mother was so thorough, understanding and supportive! Optotutor is a MUST for any pre-reg. I personally did a few 1-to-1 sessions, mock Overarching exam and OSCE revision with Bansi which I found just incredible.
