Outsite does not treat their members fairly and their customer service will not give you straight answers.
Outsite claims to be a community, but their customer service does not reflect that. They make snap judgments, refuse to listen to reason, and will not engage with anything that challenges their decisions. That is not a community.
Months before a trip I reached out to ask if we could transfer points so I could book on my own account and let my friend use his points for his portion. They said no. So we booked on his account so he could use his points. I paid for my portion with my own credit card. I booked a room with 2 people (for 2 people, but I didn't add my name to the reservation since it was under his account. That was my mistake and I own it.
When I checked in they told me I'd have to pay extra or leave because my name wasn't on the reservation. I paid for my portion, left, and a member of their team confirmed in writing that the matter was closed.
Three months later, my account was suspended out of nowhere. No warning. No email. Nothing. I had literally just tried to make a booking with no issues, and then suddenly my account was suspended.
I reached out multiple times asking two simple questions: what rule did I break, and how long is the suspension? I have asked both questions at least four times each. I still have not gotten a straight answer to either one.
Every response I got was a copy and paste reply that didn't actually address what I asked. When I sent a detailed formal complaint, they had their reservations team handle it. Not leadership, not legal, just the same people who had been ignoring me.
Here is what I also know: the other person involved in the situation was not suspended. His account was the one used for the booking, not mine. But mine is the one that got suspended. The only difference between us? I am a Black woman. He is a white man. I am not saying it was discriminatory. I am pointing out the very obvious facts and the difference in treatment.
