It was one of the hardest decisions we have ever had to make, when letting our beloved rescue staffy cross Elsie go, but we are so pleased we put our trust in Paws at Peace. Kim was very professional, compassionate and explained the whole process to us. Elsie's passing was very peaceful and stress free which was of utmost importance to us and why we chose a home euthanasia vet in the first place. We would not hesitate to use Paws at Peace again if we found ourselves needing this service in the future.

For such an awful time, Kim was incredibly kind, caring, and compassionate.

After submitting a request on the website in the early hours of the morning, Kim called me and gently helped me understand what the next steps would be, which immediately put me at ease.

When she came to my home, she made both me and my lovely little four paws feel completely comfortable and calm. She gave no warning signs to my dog Daisy at all. Daisy was never good with vets, and after having such a traumatic experience with my previous dog, I wanted to do everything I could to make this right for her.

Kim sedated Daisy so gently that she didn’t even realise it had happened. She then went peacefully and silently to sleep. Knowing that Daisy passed so calmly was incredibly comforting and helped make an unbearable time just a little bit easier.

I can’t thank Kim enough, and I really can’t express strongly enough to anyone reading this how much better this experience is compared to a vet visit. Being at home, in familiar surroundings, allows your dog to go to sleep naturally and without fear.

Paws at peace were recommended to us when it was time to say goodbye to our precious Pippa. I emailed and was contacted back immediately. Sam talked me through the process reassuring me that when the dreaded day came if our Pippa was having a good day to let them know and we could rearrange (whilst this wasn’t necessary it was really reassuring). Everything was explained and Abi came as arranged. To say she was perfect is an understatement. She was professional as well as extremely caring she told us exactly what would happen without labouring the points - just a perfect balance. Our Pip was able to slip away cuddled up with all her family around her warm, comfortable and cosy in her own home without the trauma of having to take her to the vets. She gave us so much in her life I feel that we were able to help her to pass over peacefully surrounded by love thanks to Abi and Paws at Peace. Whilst we miss her so much and we’re heartbroken, being able to do this for her certainly made things much easier than it could have been. I honestly cannot recommend Paws at Peace highly enough. I lost my beautiful little boy Billy 2 weeks ago. I contacted Paws at Peace and from the very first conversation they were so kind and caring, Kim came to our house where Billy was put to sleep, she was so warm and friendly, talked us through the process and reassuring us about everything, it was so calm and peaceful , Billy was treat with love and respect and passed away in my arms. I’m so happy that we choose to do this in our home as it really has been a comfort to us knowing he was happy and not frightened. I cannot thank Paws at Peace enough for the kindness and compassion they showed us during one of the hardest moments of our lives. When my beautiful old lady, Minnie, suddenly declined due to kidney failure, Kim came to our home to help her pass peacefully.

From the very first email and phone call, everything was explained so clearly and gently. Kim made sure we understood exactly what would happen, which helped ease so much of the fear and uncertainty. On the day, she was incredibly kind, patient and respectful, not just to us but to Minnie too. Minnie was calm, comfortable and surrounded by love in her own home, which meant everything to us.

The aftercare and thoughtful touches were also deeply appreciated and showed just how much Kim genuinely cares about the families she supports.

Minnie hated going to the vets, and I cannot imagine having to say goodbye in a cold, clinical setting. Being able to let her go peacefully at home was a gift.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Paws at Peace to anyone facing this difficult decision. They made an unbearable moment so much gentler, and I will always be grateful. 🐾💔

I am so grateful to Kim for love and kindness that she brought in assisting our girl to cross the rainbow bridge.
Without her, we wouldn’t have been able to bring our girl home to have her pass with her home comforts.
We were told our girl wouldn’t have made the night, the vet made us aware that they would not be able to release her unless she was assisted - to prevent pain and suffering. I was keen to bring her home and they recommended Paws at Peace to us.
I am so thankful that they did. Kim was so supportive, loving, thoughtful and really made such a heart breaking experience as pleasant as possible. She explained everything and ensured the entire time that the pace was right for all of us.

To have to say goodbye to our beautiful fur baby Stanley has broken our hearts. Kim and the team at Paws at Peace were amazing.
At the most difficult, emotional time Kim arrived and was the calming reassurance we needed.
Every step was taken at our own pace. Stanley was treated with gentleness and respect. He fell asleep surrounded by his family that adored him.

On the 29th December 2025 Kim from Paws at Peace helped my oldest Shiba Inu - Bubbles 15 years old over the bridge. Bubbles had a great life here with all her family I still have 2 of her daughters, and a granddaughter as well as 3 other relatives. The decision to have anyone come to the home when one of my dogs was put to sleep was a first for me and my only regret is that I have never taken this road before. No rushing , no stress at all to this precious girl. She took her final breath in the home where she took her first.
I will never take another one of my dogs to a Vets when its there time to leave me, Thank you Kim you are a very special person x

We had to say goodbye to our lovely little Khiana after 17 wonderful years, and this was the hardest decision we’ve ever had to make. I always knew I’d say goodbye at home - couldn’t bear to take her in to a vets and leave without her. I however hadn’t done any research prior to her being so unwell as it was a decision we had to make sooner than expect (the next day) and we didn’t know anything about home euthanasia available in the Leeds / West Yorkshire area. I’d called our own vet but they didn’t have enough staff to come out. I reached out to a few places first thing that morning, Paws at Peace were one I contacted.

From the very first WhatsApp voice message after I’d enquired early morning to Abi the vet coming out early afternoon - the kindness, patience and compassion we received made an unbearable situation feel just a little more manageable. Nothing ever felt rushed by Abi, and every question was answered with care and understanding. Abi said she spends her days surrounded with love which made me realise it was with love what we did in spite of hard it was.

Paws at peace also supported us by putting us in contact with a pet crematorium in Leeds (who only do individual cremations - again this was something non negotiable for me). Something I’d also done no research on I was so grateful they connected us with Tony at Beyond the Rainbow who arrived after Abi left. The whole process was so smooth (which sounds strange to say but was so important when you’re feeling overwhelmed with sadness)

On the day, Khiana was treated with such dignity, gentleness and respect and was so compassionate - we were supported throughout, and it was clear how deeply Abi and the team care not just about our beloved pets, but about the people who love them.

We will always be grateful for the calm, compassionate way Abi helped our beautiful girl pass peacefully. Thank you for making such a heartbreaking moment as gentle as it could possibly be.

The staff were very supportive and comforting. Provided compassionate service, and helped us through the process. Very good communication and checked on us the next couple of days, and reassured me can contact them any time if needing support.

On the 23rd December we said goodbye to our beautiful Staffy Luna she was 13. Having never been in this position before I knew I wanted her at home. Paws at peace from my first call to my last have been compassionate, supportive, understanding. You can tell they genuinely care. The amount of little touches they provide you with after it takes place shows true care and consideration for the after effects of losing a companion. I cannot recommend enough.

Kim came to the house she was considerate and explained everything a slow pace she never rushed anything allowing us time to ask questions and say goodbye. Her aftercare has been lovely too. It oozes from her that she loves what she does because it’s the last kindness you can give to your beloved pet.

When the time comes again for us to get another dog, and that dreaded time inevitably comes I will be in no doubt who to turn to.

I cannot recommend enough Sam, Kim and the team at Paws at peace. They were so supportive in phone calls to make the right decision on how and when to let our katkat pass away. We changed dates and plans a couple of times and they were always accommodating. On the day Kim was able to respond quickly to our declining katkat. We will always be so grateful to do this at home where katkat was safe and happy. They were so thoughtful and caring to him and sorted out the crematorium pick up as well. We can't thank them enough for their service and help in such a difficult time.

Abbie attended Dexter (our beloved dog) when we had to say goodbye to him. At 15 years old Dexter's body was no longer supporting him. Letting him go at home was simply the best way possible to say goodbye. He was surrounded by his family...familiar sights and smells. It was truly a peaceful passing. Abbie was so kind and considerate...explaining everything beforehand. We had all the time we wanted with Dexter. Wasn’t sure how we were going to deal with saying goodbye to our beloved Izzy, but Kim and the team made a massive difference when dealing with the whole experience. From the initial contact to the day we said goodbye to Izzy and the days afterwards they were professional, whilst maintaining compassion and a genuine feeling that they were with you every step of the way. On the day, Kim explained everything and ensured that everything was done at our pace ensuring Izzy got the calm, loving and peaceful stress-free send off she deserved.

Paws at peace are truly the most compassionate team, I can't express my gratitude enough at a very difficult and sad time for me and my son when it was time to let our beloved little dog Oscar go. They came to my home and explained everything with us, but with the most caring professionalism, thank you team, forever grateful

What a great company to deal with, Sam, Kim and Kate are the absolute pinnacle of perfection when it comes to your needs at a very emotional and demanding time in life. Nothing is to much trouble and they take the service they provide to the very highest of standards. When our beloved Takara was taken ill and had to be euthanised at home we could not have been taken better care of by any body, this team ranks as the best service we have ever received.

We had to make the very hard decision to have our beloved dog jet put to sleep. From the first contact with kim everything was explained she was very compassionate and there was no rush . She came to our house and made sure not only jet but our family was looked after. Would highly recommend her she made us all feel special. Even our other dogs being able to say there goodbyes.

On what was the worst experience for any pet lover paws at peace where amazing.kind considerate and caring.KIM is a lovely lady full of compassion and care.

Having to say goodbye to a beloved pet is a stressful and very sad ordeal. I can't imagine anybody doing more than Paws at Peace to mitigate the experience of that process. When we had to make that choice for our 22 year old cat Freddy, Kim returned our call promptly at the designated time. She was totally understanding and explained the process fully and empathetically. Abi called on us to release Freddy peacefully from his declining quality of life. She proceeded calmly and caringly to put Freddy at ease and he never suffered any anxiety or stress. Nothing was too much trouble and no time pressure was put on us. Freddy passed away peacefully and this helped us greatly.
