Ich wollte eine Pdf für 0,99€ generieren und stellte dann fest, dass mein Paypal-Konto sofort mit 0,99€ und im nächsten Monat mit 49,99€ belastet wurde.
Der Schriftverkehr mit PdfGuru brachte zunächst keinen Erfolg. Auch Paypal hat mir nicht weitergeholfen.
Erst als ich eine Textvorlage im Internet fand, welche die Verbraucherrechte und die intransparente Vorgehensweise des Abo-Abschlusses ohne Bestätigungsunterlagen zum Inhalt hat, wurde der Betrag von 49,99€ innerhalb von wenigen Tagen meinem Paypal-Konto wieder gutgeschrieben.
Lasst solche Machenschaften nicht durchgehen, setzt euch zur Wehr.

Non utilizzate i loro servizi. Sono dei truffatori. Ti ingannano vendendoti un una singola conversione di file e senza accorgetene ti prendono i dati di pagamento e ti ritrovi con un abbonamento con pagamento automatico senza aver autorizzato niente di ciò.

Anche io come altri ho subito una truffa online, da servizio gratuito che propongono ti ritrovi dopo una settimana con -49,99 euro da conto. iniziate a denunciare, non fermatevi

I used PDF Guru to edit a single PDF and chose the 1.99 € offer, which looked like a small, one‑time payment. On the payment page, the 1.99 € price was large and in the center, while the real subscription price of 49.99 € per month was only shown in very small, low‑contrast text at the bottom of the page. It was not obvious at all that I was signing up for a recurring monthly plan.

I only needed a one‑time use. After I saw the 49.99 € charge on my card, I cancelled the subscription and contacted support. At first they refused to refund the money, referring to a non‑refundable policy, even though the pricing design makes it very easy to miss the real monthly cost.

After I wrote a detailed review on Trustpilot and contacted them again by email, support finally cancelled my subscription and processed a full refund of the 49.99 €. I appreciate that the issue has now been resolved and that they eventually did the right thing. However, I still think the payment page should present the trial price and the monthly renewal together, with equal visibility, so that users can clearly see the real conditions of the subscription before paying.

Do not use PDF Guru if you care about your money and transparency. They advertise a tiny “one‑off” payment (like 0.99 €) but silently enroll you in an expensive recurring subscription (49.90 €) without clear, upfront disclosure. The checkout is intentionally misleading and hides the real cost.

If you are in the EU (especially Germany), you have a 14‑day right of withdrawal (Widerrufsrecht) – this is law, not a courtesy. You are not bound by their fake “7‑day trial” or any “50% refund” offer. Do not accept partial compensation; demand a full refund and cancel the subscription immediately.

Many users report the same scam: small starter fee → big hidden charge → poor support and low‑ball offers. Protect yourself: screenshots at checkout, dispute via PayPal/bank, and file complaints with Verbraucherzentrale and the EU ODR platform.

They charge you 50 euro for a pdf convert then when u try to cancel the subscription. They apply you for 2 year plan. I dont need that 2 year plan. I need my money back

Ich habe die Seite angeklickt um zu sehen, wie das Programm aufgebaut ist. Es war mir 1 € wert das zu sehen. Eine Zahlung von 1 € habe ich akzeptiert. Daraus hat pdfguru ein Abonnement gemacht, das 49,99 € kosten soll - monatlich! Das ist Betrug in Reinkultur.
Ich bin jetzt dabei, über paypal das Geld zurück zu bekommen. - Über das Ergebnis werde ich berichten.
Auf jeden Fall: WARNUNG vor dieser Firma!

Bei allem noch positiv: Nach Reklamation wurde meine Stornierung anerkannt und der Betrag wurde rückgebucht.

1 euro for a week, nowhere did it say it was a recuring charge, took 50 euros from me. For anyone reading this from the eu, invoke european customer rights, you have 14 days to void any contract or purchase. After invoking my rights i have finally received an email stating that pdf guru has issued my refund. Now its all just a waiting game to see if i have to take this matter to the authorities, but they know better than to mess with european law. Know your rights guys. Shame on them for these deceiving practices

Paid for a one-day usage and they later deducted £49.99 for a ‘monthly subscription’ which I did not request nor was I made aware of. E-mails contesting the charge went unanswered forcing me to register a complaint with Mastercard. TOTAL SCAM - AVOID AT ALL COST!!

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Total con. Paid .99p for 7 days. Thought that was it. After 7 days charged £49.99. Only needed the service for 1 day. Asked for a refund as have no intention of using the service and they have refused. DO NOT USE.

I have been misled to pay 50 euros in order to make a modification to a PDF.

I signed up for what was presented as “7-day limited access” for €0.99. This game me unlimited downloads for a week.
At no point did it clearly say that this would turn into a €49 subscription. Apparently it’s mentioned somewhere, but it’s in very faint grey text that’s easy to miss.

There was also no reminder before the renewal and no notification when the charge actually happened, which made it even more frustrating.

As soon as I saw the charge the next day, I contacted support and explained that this wasn’t intentional and that I hadn’t really used the service beyond the initial access. They still refused to refund it.

Overall, it feels designed in a way that people are likely to overlook what they’re signing up for, and then get charged anyway.

I’d strongly recommend being very cautious before entering your payment details.

Beware of this site which purports to offer you a one-off service for 0.99 but then charges you £49.99 a week later. Do not use and certainly don't give it your bank details.

Ho acquistato un servizio per 0.99 e dopo una settimana mi hanno addebitato a mia insaputa 49.99. Veri truffatori. Ho scritto al servizio clienti ma non mi hanno risposto. NON USATELO
