We are an acapella sea shanty group that sing traditional sea shanties and maritime songs as they should be sung - shipshape and Bristol fashion. Our reputation for delivering a unique, informal style of audience engagement is evident in our reviews. Fun and friendship, melody and mirth guaranteed. We are available to book for all occasions and fundraising events. We will sing for your designated charity, otherwise all proceeds go to our default charity Teenage Cancer Trust.

The Port of Bristol Shanty Crew…
The Port of Bristol Shanty Crew performed in our pub on 26 August last year, well what a day, the crew arrived and managed to set up through the crowd that were waiting, performing a fantastic set, a short break then another brilliant set with loads of customers singing along, thankfully the rain held off until the last number, but the feedback from our customers was phenomenal, we believe this was the first time a shanty crew had played here. We cannot recommend them, we URGE you to book them and guarantee a brilliant day. Thank You POB. All at the Cross Hands Winterbourne

Thanks for inviting us to sing at your summer barbecue and for supporting the Teenage Cancer Trust. Ash ⚽️ was delighted to be able to take us to his old local and your large garden area was a great setting for us, with a fantastic, supportive audience. It was great to have Herbie 🏴☠️ with us at a daytime gig - he’s a bit of a secret weapon when it comes to encouraging donations to the charity ❤️🩵💙💷🍻

The tour of the studio and the directors gallery was fantastic and the opportunity to sing for the closing credits of the news was an experience that we are unlikely to forget. We invited the crew to perform at our Trafalgar Night dinner for young CCF cadets at our school. They recommended songs that would be best for the occasion and even went as far as to adapt some of the lyrics to make them suitable for younger people. A great performance by a group who effortlessly set themselves up without any fuss and really engaged the kids in the songs. Definitely recommend them.

The young people really engaged positively with our performance and the costumes (for both staff and pupils) were fantastic. We hope we didn’t leave you with too many ear worms! ⚓️🎶👂🐛
Doozy Magazine 002 launch @ Strange Brew, Bristol
I booked the PoB Shanty Crew to perform at Doozy 002, an art exhibition/gig/club night at strange brew in January 2024 and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough. They were helpful, prompt and useful in their communications and their performance lit up strange brew like no other has! 300 people beaming from ear to ear belting out Bristolian shanties was quite a sight to witness. They are all brilliant performers, singers, and have great stage presence, commanding a large space with tact, wit, and just the right ratio of skill and enthusiasm. Off stage they are funny, lovely guys and were a pleasure to work with. Would recommend to any event (even experimental art-clubbing events!) to light up the room and get everyone on their feet and making merry! 11/10.

We were uncertain at first as to whether we were right for your audience, but within seconds the warmth of their welcome and their enthusiasm for the event became clear and the positive response from them was fantastic. We’ve never experienced such vigorous vocal support and request for not one but two encores. Nobby will be renamed Nobby Williams at this rate! ⚓️🎶🍻
