Such a scam. They get you hooked on a book/story and after you’re several episodes in you have to start buying coins or wait 12 - 24 hours until you accumulate more episodes to watch. There were 1300 episodes in the story and it took me two purchases, had to play games, watching ads, etc. and spent my time only getting to Episode 180. What a waste.

I've been listening on Pocket FM for a while now, and from time to time, I become unable to use the app for personal reasons. Whenever this happens, I go to the website to continue listening, but at this point, I've gone so far into the story that it stretches it out. I have to scroll and wait for the episodes to load only to scroll some more until I reach the episode that I reach. The worser part is that sometimes errors happen and I have to reload the website. This resets my progress and I have to reload all the episodes back again from the beginning. It is very tedious. It would be great if they had a similar system that placed their listener onto the episode that they've listened to, or if, similar to the app, had a way to instantly move to a group of episodes that were near it and load from there. Another point is that, if you were to log in using google, you automatically use google to log or create an account. The issue with this is that there is no way to create a password. I've asked them about this multiple times, and they've always responded by stating to use the forgot password at the log in section, but they have no such thing. They are completely reliant on the fact that you've used the google thing, or the email, and have no flexibility with this. If I'm being honest, the majority of the good stories that pop up in Pocket FM come from their partnership with Webnovel, and even then, only the contracted stories have a small chance of getting there. I want to rate this high, but I just can't, I have way too many complaints about it. I've tried to write a story as well simply to see how that works. The only good thing about it was the fact that they didn't lie. Once you have a story voice set up, there's no going back. You can't even delete it once you have another episode set up, and that is the only way to change the voice, delete and remake. There's got to be a better way manage these things. Pocket FM has gotten way too greedy in my opinion. A few stories that I've been listening to use to require only 5 to 9 coins, but those costs and gone up to unlock each episode. There are many small changes that could be made to improve it for its users, but they never seem to listen to criticism and only look at the positive reviews. This is not the way to improve. The only reason why I'm still using it despite the issues and grievances that I have with it is because I listened to the stories and if I were to switch, I would have to start all over. That is another issue that I have with it. It states that it will not condone plagiarism, but I have seen so many stories and synopses with different names that are all pretty much the same. It says one thing and supports another. In its writing policy, it states how it will go through everything to check for plagiarism, but when I look through the stories that it contains, I can see three things with the exact premise, the exact story-arcs, the exact synopses. The only things that are different are the names of the characters and the names of the story itself. If only it listened to its consumers, Pocket FM would have a much happier userbase that grew. Many come and leave shortly after because they realize on the issues pretty quickly. Even at this very moment as I write this review, I am waiting for episodes to load on the website because I'm currently incapable of using the website. It has been an hour of wait, and I'm still not at the episode that I've left off of. I believe that I've ranted long enough. Whoever is reading this, you'll see that there are a lot of issues, and those are only the ones that I have. There are many more that I do not experience.

I am unable to receive support be it in app, play store or private messages on Facebook. I am unable to get episodes to play even know i have almost 5400 pocket fm coins... They have no direct link to support available "ANYWHERE" in the app. If you click support in the app it goes to frequently asked questions which leads in circles to nowhere at all. Only leaving you more frustrated and upset then when you began attempting to receive assistance...

The stories are all over the place. I listened to a story where in the beginning a character was another character cousin and in the middle they called him his brother and then at the end it went back to his cousin. It seems they have many writers that do not communicate with each other. This leads to poor quality materials. Most story begins with a pretty good writer, but in the middle or near the end, you can tell that there’s a new writer because the characters lack substance . It’s a shame because the stories have good potential. I would not recommend this app to anyone.

It is a rip off. It is way too expensive. You keep having to pay more and more the more into thr story you get....dont do it

Wäre ja nicht schlimm aber JEDES MAL geht es um iwelche perversen Alien P*rno Geschichten. Das ist einfach krank, selbst für Erwachsene. Sowas verstößt doch auch zu 100% gegen Gesetze. I’m listening to two stories at the same time , The story lines are inconsistent , , when you do pick back up on the story line one particular werewolf story gives you four episodes of them meeting thier mate and having sex, toward the end (approx eighty episodes) you don’t get any free episodes unless you watch a 12-24 ads the other story you get one episode for watching 8 ads then it steals your story half way through watching the ads and says ad limit exhausted to try make you pay for them , previously I have paid and not got all my episodes , I’m coming off the app , fed up with the nonsense

Is stupidly expensive! there are hundreds of episodes and over 1£ each! 😂 Have not paid for their service and not planning to!😎 Eat/heat/ get petrol or listen to these 😭 choice is yours. It’s a free market for all , at the end of the day .

This is a total scam don't waste your time expensive and episodes takes days to load if you don't want to pay. No way to contact these people

this app keeps taking away free episodes. did get 10 per day now only 4 per day. if one purchases coins, only good for so many episodes and then requested for more coins. I'm not even halfway through the audio book and already spent $40.00 - I can buy an entire series for that cost.

Dear Pocket FM Support,

I am writing to formally complain about unauthorized charges, missing coins, incomplete storylines, and the declining quality and inconsistency of episode lengths on your platform.

I had approximately 400 coins in my Pocket FM account, and by the next day, my balance had dropped to only 8 coins without my knowledge or permission. After that, I purchased a $29.99 package for 204 coins, but by the following day, those coins were also gone as well.

I did not authorize my coins to be used in this manner, nor did I give permission for charges related to episodes beyond what I knowingly selected. This situation is extremely concerning, especially because I am paying for content that has become increasingly inconsistent in value.

I would also like to raise serious concerns about the stories I have been listening to:

1. Twists of Love and Revenge
This storyline is not completed, and I am constantly waiting for more episodes to be released. On top of that, the episodes keep getting shorter and shorter. I have also consistently noticed that my coins seem to come up missing after listening to this storyline, which is especially concerning.

2. The Feisty Girl and the Tyrant
At least this series is completed, but the episodes are still getting shorter and shorter, which reduces the value of what I am paying for.

3. A Deal with the Arrogant CEO
This series is also not completed, and the episodes continue to get shorter and shorter, making the experience frustrating and disappointing.

When I first began listening on your platform, episodes were around 30 minutes long. Now, episodes are often reduced to only 5 to 15 minutes and are inconsistent in length. This noticeable decline in content value feels misleading, especially when users are spending coins or being charged money for far less content than expected.

I am requesting that you immediately investigate my account activity and transaction history and address the following:

A full review of my account and recent coin usage
An explanation of how my coins were used without my permission
A refund or restoration of the missing coins and any unauthorized charges
A response regarding the incomplete status of certain storylines
An explanation for the inconsistent and significantly shortened episode lengths
Assurance that no further unauthorized purchases or episode charges will occur

Please treat this matter seriously and respond promptly with the steps being taken to correct this issue. If necessary, I am prepared to dispute these charges with my credit card company.

Don't waste your time and money downloading this app it's so stupidly overpriced...once you get hooked on you will stop getting free episodes and will have to pay silly money for everything

This company could have an easy way to contact customer service when a person is having an issue, but it appears there is no such department.

The story I've been following doesn't always resume where I left off and it ends up eating my coins for that. It also is no longer giving me any free episodes, I have to buy coins for them now.

I've uninstalled the app and will no longer use them. In fact, I might just fight what I've spent on coins with Google.

I would love to find out if and how I can continue my audio series elsewhere.

They took away my free episodes. They may not respond to negative feedback in the forum but remarkably They respond by taking away your daily free episodes. CHILDISH.

It will sucker you in, then once purchased. Nothing! You don’t get what you are sold. Was listening to an audio book and wanted to finish it out. Purchased a monthly subscription. It was advertised as 60 min free episodes of any story. That is, unless it’s the one you’re already listening to and have actually bought coins for. And let’s not forget the customer service. It’s all automated to a point that you can’t even ask a general question and get an actual answer. No matter what you do you will get scammed out of your money. It’s so terrible, that if you actually look in the App Store. You will see only responses to the positive reviews and nothing towards the actual people having issues with their app. Not even one. I ended up cancelling my subscription. I honestly prefer the refund of the money spent on coins before the purchase of the subscription. This is a terrible app but a very profitable business plan. Offer you an item and once you buy, give you something else.

Stories could be good but you either wait for upto a year on free watch/listen, two episodes a day or watch ads that you are only allowed so many a day or pay. Average story can cost between £200/250. Thats only if you pay out for the highest amount to get 50% back on points.
Or you can write your own story and hope it makes money. Most of these sites are a rip off. Audible or kindle give value for money, even if you have to buy a book to listen too.
Pocket fm needs to drop its price points on episodes and more people would use its site. £30 on a book is still ott but 100x better and more affordable.

I saw the app advertised, and the video clearly involved AI‑generated content, so I got interested. I downloaded the app and listened to a couple of stories. If you’re unfamiliar with the genre, it is essentially all AI‑generated soap opera. There are a lot of slips indicating this is not a human working, as there are obvious mistakes in the story flow, characters reacting unnaturally, and outright stupidity (even for the dumbest person you may know in real life).

The AI‑generated video is cool to watch for a few episodes, but it becomes annoyingly “hallucinatious.” Some of the faces it creates look nice, but the AI keeps changing the appearance every scene, making it clear that whoever stitches the scenes together doesn’t go for perfection.

Every series is chopped into tiny pieces of around 5–9 minutes. The pace is painfully slow, and each episode is stretched over minuscule events—such as a visit to a house, a stop on the road, a dinner, or a moment of thinking in the office. You have to listen to all this rubbish that’s unnecessary to the storyline. These are just “fillers.”

I’ve only watched the free episodes and, frankly, got a little hooked. I’m now at the stage where several free episodes are provided every day, and you have to pay to unlock more. They really test your impulsivity. I’m not going to pay, as this product is amateur at best—you could write a better story yourself.

Reading reviews from people who got properly hooked, I see that the company is greedy and manipulative, and their content is cheap, machine‑generated soap nonsense. I’m deleting the app.
