Psychiatry Avis 

Dr Kautoke was great. Had good understanding of the bigger picture and the culture I grew up in and how it contributed to a diagnosis being missed as a child. When my Dr read the report she said with her reservations about online assessments she was impressed with the amount of detail given and said it gave a complete and insightful evaluation. I found the experience to be very affirming in my psychiatric history and encouraging for my journey ahead. My health improvement practitioner also read it and said that reading the report was perfectly reflective of who I am as a person. After a battle in my 20s of being misdiagnosed and misunderstood in the health system, his assessment has helped me to advocate for myself and finally get the right help. Thank you.

Fantastic service, the psychiatrists have many years of experience under their belts, Dr Kautoke was friendly, very thorough, and easy to work with. Report was excellent, very detailed and informative. As with any psychiatry, wait lists are standard but move along quickly. Well worth the money for people seeking to understand themselves and receive a thorough diagnosis.

I found the comment about my attacker "probably having something happen in their life to.do that you you" Obscene. I survived an attempt of murder. Shame on you, Doc. Wtf. No, not the right time for an assessment, but always a good time to "earn" $600.

Frances is unhelpful, in my view rude and unprofessional. Felt like a scam to me. He/she/they tried to make me spend more money due to their dodgy website not working. Beware of their scam behaviour. All the feedback given goes directly to the person you are emailing. Not worth the risk, there is always availability for a reason

I saw Dr Lim through Psychiatry.NZ for an ADHD assessment in July and it was a very good experience.
He was very professional and knowledgable and able to answer any questions that I had, he was also very honest since there was one question he wasn't entirely sure about rather than acting like he knew the answer, he outright told me that he didn't know for sure and will have a quick check for me. He then checked his system for a minute or two while letting me know what it was saying, and fully explained the answer to my question to me.
He was very friendly and accommodating, and I could not recommend him more highly.
My assessment was a very affordable price, I was able to do it from my house without having to travel across town to visit someone, and compared to most other Psychiatrists they have a very good waitlist length, but that will probably fill up a bit if it hasn't already.

I have seen on multiple Facebook or Reddit groups, that quite a few people have trouble with their medications and Special Authorities, due to a medication not working properly or having unwelcome side effects and then having to schedule a new appointment with their Psychiatrist to get a new Special Authority for something else, or to change dosages.
Doctor Lim had applied for multiple SA's for different medications in case some weren't suitable or didn't work properly, and provided full information to my GP about how to manage them, which ones to prescribe and when, how to increase and reduce dosages, and when you can switch it for an equivalent dose of another, vs having to start at the lowest again.
He also included a section stating his support for my GP in applying for other medications that are likely not needed but may be needed if the common ones are not effective. So that if they are ever needed, my GP can use his letter of support to apply for the Special Authority for them herself.
This has already ended up happening due to the medication shortage and about 15 minutes later it had been approved and my pharmacy called to let me know they've received the prescription for the new one.

They are an extremely good business that clearly has their patient's well-being and best interests at heart, especially with how stressful ADHD can be when switching medications that need new Special Authorities.
Dr Lim was very professional and clearly showed his integrity throughout our appointment by answering any of my questions and openly admitting to not being sure about something, and then investigating and talking me through it, when he could have just as easily brushed me off and pretended to know.
In my mind, it is a clear sign of a really good doctor when they are willing to do that, rather than just pretending to know for the sake of their own ego, to act like they know everything.

Overall I had an overwhelmingly positive experience, and could not be more satisfied with how I was treated at every stage, and with the professionalism and caring of the team here.
