Return Process Was Easy

I received prompt service on a return that I requested. It was easy to get responses from customer service for the products I received. They were in good condition, but I didn't realize they were larger than I imagined. (I'm not very good at visualizing the sizes of canisters and I found they were too big for just holding a bag of coffee or a small container of sugar).

Fraudulent "membership" fees charged years after one purchase

In 2020, at the height of the Covid pandemic, I made a single one-time purchase of toilet paper and soap from Public Goods. I did not sign up for a membership of any kind. Years later, in 2025, I was charged $79 for a membership I never authorized. This charge went unnoticed. Then in 2026, I was charged another $79 — and only noticed because I happened to review my statement. That's $158 in charges I never consented to, billed to a credit card I used once, years prior. This is not a membership I enrolled in. This is a company that retained my payment details from a pandemic-era purchase and used them to silently bill me on an annual basis with no clear disclosure, no reminder emails, and no expectation on my part that any recurring charge was authorized. Public Goods markets itself as an eco-conscious, values-driven brand. In my view, that positioning is being used to lower consumers' guard and discourage scrutiny of their actual business practices. Charging a fraudulent fee years after a customer's only purchase is predatory, regardless of how it's branded.

Absolutely HORRENDOUS "customer service". They are horrific. Please do not purchase anything from here. If you do not receive your order they will gaslight you and refuse to help you. This is one of the worst companies. I believe the 5 star reviews are not real.

Margot & Public Goods truly shined

Margot, the customer support rep and her company truly exemplifies what “Customer Service” means, rather than the typical “Customer No Service “ that the general public often found themselves having to put up with.

I bought the 3pack of cleaners

I bought the 3pack of cleaners. Surface, bathroom, and glass. I used them same day they arrived. Absolutely love them! They clean so well, non toxic, and I am obsessed!! I hate using cleaners you buy from the stores with all the toxins in them. I am so blessed to have found public goods.

I appreciate Public Goods for…

I appreciate Public Goods for supporting me with my "lost" package. They immediately replaced the items in stock and re-funded me for the ones that weren't. Margot was the support person and really was really helpful and nice!

Fraudulent Cancellation Process

I canceled my membership in January and even emailed them to confirm it was canceled. I received an email back saying that yes, it was canceled. On March 18th I received an email and credit card charge renewing my membership. This company has no way to call them and you're forced to send an email or text and then wait "1-2 days for a response because they're so busy". I would never do business with them again!

I try to be pretty selective with my purchases, but sometimes things happen. And that is why customer service is very important! I recommend Public Goods 100%! 😊
