Quotev used to be so good before they updated it. The platform doesn't care about what the user base wants. They took away the group chat, public activity feed, chat box and private message features which was what gave the site something unique and fun, despite the majority of users being upset and opposed to that decision. Everyone I spoke to was against it and the site's direction STILL went on with it, cutting everyone off from their friends and they openly lied about the reasons why they were taking all of it away. Don't use this site. They didn't notify when the messages would be made possible to download, so I couldn't save the message threads that meant so much to me. I lost so many good memories. I'm really upset by this, and on top of that, the site is just completely bland and unappealing now. Good job on ruining everything for everyone.

Like, they went on with the update and removed messages?? Even though more than half of Q has deactivated?? What the effing potato chips is wrong with them!?

Absolute dumpster fire after 2016 because of removal of several aspects including chat, activity, etc. and ui is inconvenient as well as an incomplete html format; in other words it looks plain though through the years it’s been an unforgettable experience with online friends.

i've lost contact with over half of my friends due to the new update. don't use this site.

We need the old Quotev back. Also what happened my account? I didn’t delete it. I also get a warning. I want to talk to my friends and rant to them on how my day has been going. We need it back.

It was good before the update. No more social interaction. Removing messages on July 1st. This update will make Quotev lose many users. I'm pretty tempted to quit. This update will lead to me (and many others) losing several online friends. Remove the update. You are losing your reputation. REMOVE THE UPDATE!!!

Clearly doesn't care about it's users. They're removing all social interaction, and openly lying about the reason. "Oh but almost no users use that", really they're just bitter people wanted to have fun with their friends instead of writing. Don't bother with Quotev, there are better writing sites out there

Totally HORRIBLE update. Before the update, it was wonderful. NOW? No messaging, no chatbox, no groups, boring! No feed either! It's atrocious. An absolute monstrosity. BOO! The admins don't have a single idea how to make their website better. The update has caused everyone to revolt, and some even leave!

They recently placed a new update and it’s absolutely terrible, makes me not want to use the site. They’re getting rid of groups and messages- a great way to connect with people, and as an author, receiving messages from your readers was very common! Absolutely atrocious that they would pull this on us, extremely disappointed in the site developers.

Wonderful app if the mods grew balls and actually worked.

Updated randomly, no warning. Community? Gone. Communication? Demolished. Bring back qoutev properly. Groups were the best part and now they’re gone? SEVERE downgrade

I had a lot of friends who could all say that I was really polite and tried to be as nice as possible! There was a lot of people harrasing me for something that had happened 9 weeks before. I said one thing about how horrible it made be feel and I got disabled!?! Ive contacted Q 3 times and still nothing. Its been 4 days and now im afraid I wont ever be able to get back on... My user is SunMoon... I only want to see Kiwi again...

I got IP banned without any context or any former punishments. Erm.

I used to use quotev every single day. Then my account got banned because I called out a creep, who's user was yellowheartz, because she was saying things like how she wanted to S/A a dude she knew irl, referred to me as one of her "system friends" when I wasn't even in a system, told a kid she would decapitate them, and many other stuff. I made many friends on quotev, but it is a hell site and I'm glad my account got banned. Quotev is worse than Tumblr, because atleast on Tumblr you can actually communicate with staff, but on quotev the admins couldn't care less about their users.

Quotev is excellent... provided you are above 14 or pretty mature when you join.
I made the mistake of joining at a very young age, and as an impressionable little kid looking to be accepted, I got sucked into the online drama that is prevalent there if you try to follow too many online friend groups.
Now, several years later, I've learned how to hold my own, not follow drama, and pretty much just stay put and write fun quizzes and stories. But it took a lot of time for me to shake off the negative effects of joining such a free-for-all social media site so young. I do not think this is Quotev's fault; all social media is bad for young kids. I just think this community should really only be for mature teens who aren't so impressionable or susceptible to mean comments, peer pressure, etc.
The writing software is amazing, the layouts are fun, the roleplay community is the best. Just be mindful that this is social media, and it is as dangerous as any other site.

Quotev is a great site, but it does have a few minor issues. I love writing and reading, and Quotev is the thing for me. I've met a few very nice people and some not nice people. It's all about how you use Quotev. It's easy to get around and has people to help you if you don't know what to do. I've been on Quotev for seven months now and I love it. It's an inclusive community from my experience, but I know not everyone has had the same experience. Quotev is not for everyone, but it's for people who love reading and writing.

You can make really great friends there, but some people are not it. I also hope anyone who uses this does not get addicted like I did. I went on Q every. single. day. for over a year. I had multiple accounts to make friends. I was slowly falling deeper and deeper into the "obsessed category." It was only when life got too busy and I stopped using the site every day that I was clear from my addiction. My advise: get out while you can. Limit yourself to only 30-45 minutes a day- but even that could corrupt you. The Q admin also aren't very helpful and you can get attacked for being outspoken about your beliefs. Be careful.

It's the site I write my own stuff on, and I mostly just participate in writing contests or take quizzez and surveys. There have been people giving the site bad reviews because of a specific creation posted on quotev, which is just not fair. I haven't gotten any bad experiences, but I also never really interact with others there so. Take this as you please.
