Fantastically organised rugby festival
Fantastically organised rugby festival!
This was by far the most well organised and excellently run festivals we have attended! Everything ran like clockwork - the communication was brilliant and most importantly the children had the most amazing experience with memories made!
When arriving on site - check in was quick and easy! The camp site had everything you needed to hand! It was big enough to have space but also small enough that all amenities were close by! The toilets and showers were by far the best we have experienced at any temporary camp site!
The entertainment was second to none and was catered for all ages! It gave that all important festival feel!
Everyone in our group had the best time and have made memories that will last a life time!
We will most certainly be back next year!!

Epic tour Memories made for life
From the Offset John and Jodi were amazing helping to organize the tour and cater for different accommodation needs!
The festival and tournament itself was epic from start to finish non stop entertainment and fun, great atmosphere with friends made with other groups and lots of new contacts for games away!
Tournament structure was amazing over the two days and the setting could have been better!

Good rugby game organisation for U14s, poor attitude of some and disappointing residential experience
The rugby tournament for U14s was well organised. Unfortunately one of the teams was poorly behaved causing problems on and off the pitch. Another team's coach was poorly behaved and was sent off, but was back on the pitch the next day!
The campsite looked great on day 1, but the Pre-pitched Deluxe Bell Tents were over sold and over priced, the toilet facilities were not sufficient in number or cleaned often enough for the vast numbers of children who wouldn't clean up after themselves.

We're sorry to hear about the issues you experienced regarding team and coach behaviour. We do take conduct seriously and work closely with referees, officials, and our safeguarding teams to manage situations as they arise.
Regarding the campsite, we’re disappointed to hear that the Deluxe Bell Tents didn’t meet your expectations. The pre-pitched packages were in high demand this year, and while we try to strike the right balance between comfort and cost with our Third Party supplier, we’ll certainly take your comments on value into account for future planning.
We truly appreciate your feedback – both the positives and areas for improvement – and will use it to make future events even better.

Well organised north Devon tour for our…
Well organised north Devon tour for our under 13s. Good communication throughout, all ran to time and we had a lot of fun. Pitches could have been better & more toilets needed but shuttle bus worked well, food vans were good and the team went home happy.

2 Revel festivals in April & May
We’ve attended 2 Revels Rugby festivals in April & May.
Overall positive and we would use them again.
2 day festival in South Molton was well organised with refs provided. Plenty of rugby for the boys to get involved in. Pitches weren’t great though, pretty uneven and one had a very large slope. If there were more entertainment / food options we may have stayed on site longer.
The accommodation was fine for a rugby tour, the best part was there was good entertainment for the boys to get involved in and they had a great time together as a team.
1 day festival in North Petherton had better pitches and was organised well. Referring was good quality in the main. The good weather made it a nice day out.

Accommodation was lovely
Accommodation was lovely, and matches were organised well despite there appearing to be a few questionable players for the age range. Only criticism i have is I had contacted last year regarding taking a dog as had never been before and waited ages for a response finally a week before got through and was told would receive a call Tuesday before we left on the Friday no call tried calling number wouldn’t connect which meant one us had to stay at home even though we had paid for five of us so was disappointed that we had wasted money. Other thing was my child never ended up playing due to injury but still supported his team and even though they placed he was not awarded a medal along with them shame that other places have. So a mixed review from us and leaving us contemplating if we would attend another.

Whole weekend was overshadowed by one…
Whole weekend was overshadowed by one team who broke into and stole from Caravans, resulting in the Police being called out. The same team then had fights in their first 2 matches resulting in the Police called out again and arrests being made with a poor lad in A&E. Certainly no fault of Revels just very unfortunate for all concerned.

Excellent experience with this company. 1st class service before and during our stay. Always on hand to help and the event itself was very well organised. Devon tour
honest review group opinion of 60 individuals
Accommodation Issues:
Ceilings leaking, microwaves blowing up, and repeated loss of electricity.
Rooms weren’t ready until 8pm.
No basic utensils—no cups, plates, or cutlery.
Website advertised £200 per unit for the weekend, yet we were charged £140 per person for dirty, outdated, and substandard rooms.
Rugby Experience:
Venue was 40+ minutes away from accommodation.
Food quality had dropped significantly—£9 for sausage and chips from a cheap burger van, compared to last year’s award-winning chefs.
Games held on uneven, rock-hard farm fields, not proper rugby pitches as expected on a professional tour.
Referees appeared to be around 15 years old, and disputes required intervention from their parents, with little knowledge and understanding of the game or rules.
Our team was placed far away from the action—isolated with no atmosphere.
Promised medals were only given after we complained.
Only three toilets on the entire site, and again, we were placed too far away to access them easily.
Transport:
A bus was added at an extra cost of £10pp per day just one week before the tour.
With only six days’ notice, we had to arrange our own transport due to lack of proper planning and communication.
Overall: Last year, despite accommodation and facility issues, the rugby side of the tour was excellent—so we gave it another chance. This year, however, even the rugby experience fell short. We weren’t on proper pitches but in a field that was clearly not suitable.
Communication throughout was poor, and the experience was nowhere near what was promised or expected—especially not for the price.
The accommodation was not accessible for wheel chairs or prams.
Even the event staff were apologetic about the state of the rugby (farmers fields ) as they were on uneven and mostly on a slant.
When I emailed before hand with questions, I was ignored, so I perused the questions on Facebook and was basically told it would be detrimental to our team. If I didn’t remove anything that could be damaging to there festive. I know they will probably reply to this saying that this is false. But I have the emails to prove it.
When I posted this same review on facebook, it has been removed and blocked so you can only see good reviews.

However, we would like to address several points you’ve raised to provide clarity and reassurance to other festival participants:
Accommodation & Costs
The accommodation was managed directly through our holiday park partners, and your feedback has been passed on. To clarify, we do not advertise prices as “£200 per unit for the weekend.” If this was communicated to you, it was not via any official Revel Festivals channel.
Travel & Venue
The distance between accommodation and pitches was clearly communicated at the point of booking. Shuttle bus options were also provided and discussed in advance – we sent written correspondence more than four weeks before the event and with you directly more than three weeks before the event - therefore your statement of six days is false.
In addition to this, as a good will gesture, your bus drivers were provided with free accommodation by Revel Festivals to reduce your overall costs.
Food & Facilities
Based on feedback from previous years, the majority of our participants expressed a preference for traditional, rugby-club style food rather than gourmet offerings. We understand that this may not have matched your personal expectations, but it reflected the preferences of the wider group.
There were portable toilets by the pitches for convenience, in addition to the full facilities inside the sports college, which were clearly signposted and available throughout the event.
Rugby Experience & Pitches
All matches were played at a sports college, used weekly for competitive sport. The suggestion that games were held in "farmers' fields" is inaccurate.
Regarding referees, while we did have young officials involved, this is a common part of community sport and we received overwhelmingly positive feedback about their conduct and their ability to control the game. Your complaint is the only negative one received on this matter.
Medals & Atmosphere
Your age group was not due to receive medals under our published structure, but we provided them anyway as a gesture of goodwill to support your players' morale.
Communication
We acknowledge that our response times can be longer during peak festival season, as our team is often spread across multiple sites. However, we aim to respond within 7–10 days and did so in your case.
Social Media & Misinterpretation
Our email regarding social media was not intended to pressure you. Our aim was simply to encourage a positive atmosphere in the lead-up to the event, and to clarify any misunderstandings, particularly where incorrect information had been shared by you, publicly. We’re sorry if this came across differently.
We’re disappointed to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations, particularly after your previous positive rugby experience with us. While we understand not every event is perfect for every team, we remain confident in the quality of what was delivered — and are proud of the overwhelmingly positive feedback received from the majority of teams who attended.

Revel’s Devon rugby Tour 2025
Our first impressions of the resort, was disappointing. We had to wait 1hr 40 mins for our keys to the accommodation.
There was nothing to do on the site for the children/young people. The swimming pool was freezing, so the children were unable to stay in it for too long. The amount we paid for the accommodation was definitely not worth it. Having to drive a 40 minute commute to the tournament, not ideal, surely there could have been different accommodation closer. However the actual tournament went well, very well organised and this was the best bit of what you did well.

What a brilliant weekend had by all
What a brilliant weekend had by all. The event was well organised with no issues or concerns from us. The timetable that was sent out prior to the event was spot on and everything went exactly as planned. John and Jodie were on site and contactable at all times if needed. They were there to welcome us on the first day and were visible throughout. We’ve made awesome memories and made friendships with other rugby families resulting in next years tour being planned already.

Just back from Revel Rugby Devon
Just back from Revel Rugby Devon, and the weekend was packed with brilliant rugby, a buzzing atmosphere, and the kind of festival energy that keeps everyone smiling from start to finish.
The pitches were in great condition, (maybe a bit hard because of the sun). The fixtures were well run, and the events team were helpful, organised, and full of good vibes. The holiday park was a laugh a minute, especially the clubhouse - full of energy, entertainment and some sore heads the next morning!
The only hiccup was a few fixture changes due to team dropouts caused by injuries- that kind of thing can’t be helped and was quickly forgotten because everything else was spot on. The attention to detail from arrival to checkout was absolute perfection.
Would certainly recommend and look forward to next year

This was moy team and sons first rugby tour and from end to end the whole experience was professional, safe and responsive. The kids created incredible memories, had some great victories and a few tough losses but to be honest the experience was what counted. Already planning next year
