RISE Research Avis 

I'm Vivaan Jha from Oberoi International School JVLR. My RISE project focused on "Environmental Sciences(Leaning towards sustainability) & Engineering(Leaning towards design)", and I was mentored by Cade Napier.

This experience helped me see what academic research is really like. I enjoyed working closely with my mentor, who encouraged me to ask questions and think independently. The project strengthened my analytical skills and sparked an even greater interest in my chosen field. The debate inspired research question of technological innovation versus the deployment strategies allowed me to both expand and strengthen my knowledge in my chosen field, all while allowing me to collect data for solar powered irrigation systems, one of the most widespread technologies in India.

I'm grateful for the opportunity and would recommend RISE to students who enjoy learning beyond the classroom.

My name is Avni, and I am working under Tochukwu Nweze. During the program, I learned how to read academic papers, structure a research project, and improve my writing. My mentor was approachable and always willing to answer my questions.

Hi! My name is Ethan Panarey, and I'm a student at George School.

I've had a great experience in the RISE program so far. I'm currently working with my research mentor, Meet Mehta, my writing coach, Deepleen, and my program manager, Shubhvi. They've all been incredibly supportive, provided valuable feedback, and have helped me grow throughout the research process.

My project has been both challenging and rewarding, and I've learned so much—not only about conducting research, but also about communicating my ideas more effectively. The guidance and encouragement I've received have made the experience enjoyable and motivating.

I would highly recommend RISE to any student interested in research. It's an excellent opportunity to develop new skills, work with amazing mentors, and gain hands-on experience in a supportive learning environment.

Hi! My name is Sheina Askari, and I study at Taft High School.

I'm currently working with Valeria King as my research mentor and Rishika Kaushal as my writing coach. So far, my research project is progressing well, and I've learned a lot throughout the program.
As a student, I receive a lot of support and guidance through this program, and I never feel unclear as to what I need to do. This program has allowed me to dive extremely deep into the topic I'm interested in, and it will definitely be a big help for college and beyond.

I'm currently working with Yingzhe (Ethan) He as my research mentor and Gauravi Pore as my writing coach. So far, my research project is progressing well, and I've learned a lot throughout the program.

I'd definitely recommend RISE to other students interested in pursuing research.

My mentor was very good since she helped guide me through the essentials on how to do a literature reveiew, and the program also recommended a decent yet realistic publication that suits the topic of my paper. However, certain people of this program could be a little more flexible with their time slots.

Both my mentor and writing coach are extremely helpful and gave me valuable feedback throughout the research process, helping improve my research skills.

As a high schooler, its hard to publish without knowing where to look or paying as much as what feels like college tuition to other companies that promise and are unable to publish your research. However, RISE has helped me be able to figure out what and where to publish my research, which was good especially given that in the criminal justice/humanities field it is often hard to publish research. My mentor, writing coach, reviewer, and publication team have helped me so much on my journey! Thanks, RISE!
