I had a door knocker stating they could reduce my Verizon bill by almost half. They promised free phones and Visa gift cards. They also promised to pay off any balances owed on existing phones with Verizon. It’s been four months now and my bill is the same as it was with Verizon Verizon sent me a bill for $1700 on balances owed. I have yet to see any reimbursement for that from AT&T, the first couple months bills were very expensive. in hindsight I would not have done this again. the rep from Sarah plus who sold me the package is now no longer responding to me. AT&T support just keeps telling me to wait longer. My advice is to avoid Sarah plus like the plague.
I had an AT&T agent (Gloria) visit the store where I work. During her sales pitch, she clearly promised that AT&T would pay off any remaining balance owed on my Verizon phones if I switched. Based on that assurance, I traded in my phones and moved to AT&T.
To make matters worse, she set me up on a business contract — even though it’s not my business, and I am simply an employee. I never requested or authorized a business account in my name.
I’m now over 12 weeks in, still chasing the gift cards that were promised to cover my Verizon balance. I’ve spent countless hours on the phone with AT&T trying to resolve this, getting passed around with no clear answers. Meanwhile, I have a Verizon bill for over $2,400, with no support or resolution from AT&T.
This entire experience feels like bait-and-switch tactics and false advertising. Promises were made to close the sale but have not been honored. Now I’m stuck with a massive Verizon bill, an unwanted business account, and no accountability from AT&T.
I am filing formal complaints with the FCC and considering further legal action.
I also request that Trustpilot escalate this review to AT&T’s executive team. Consumers deserve to know the risks of trusting these types of promotions and verbal promises from AT&T sales representatives.
Buyers beware — get everything in writing. In my case, AT&T has failed to honor what was promised and has left me financially exposed.
