I was disappointed to see that the angle needed to be set with a hex key. Then the clamp would not hold my chisel firmly in place. Plus the stone was not held firmly in place. Also changing to a different height stone meant finding the hex key to make the angle adjustment. It seems like a great concept, just not well implemented IMO.

On the Hex key adjustment:
We understand this can feel like an extra step. The reason we use an Allen screw is to keep the angle arm firmly locked in place during sharpening. This ensures the angle doesn’t shift under pressure, helping you get consistent and repeatable results. While tool-free adjustments may feel quicker, they can sometimes move during use, which affects accuracy.
On switching between different stone heights:
You’re right to notice the change, but the sharpening angle itself does not need to be adjusted when using different stones. The angle stays the same. What changes is the clamp position; simply moving the blade clamp to the appropriate hole ensures proper contact with the stone. It’s a small adjustment designed to keep the system precise across different setups.
On the chisel, not holding firmly:
We also want to share a quick tip on hand placement, as it can make a big difference in stability and control:
Hold the blade holder with both hands
Use your thumbs behind the holder to guide the motion
Place your index fingers close to the stone contact point
For wider chisels, you can also use your middle fingers for added support
This helps ensure smooth, controlled sharpening with consistent contact on the stone.

I installed a mahogany deck and plugged the screws with plugs. They protruded about a 1/16” and I used your tool to shave them flush. It worked far better than excepted. Love the tool and would recommend it highly!! Thanks

Product quality is good for the price
Product quality is good for the price. A couple seem a little China-esque. Some fit in my dog holes, some do not and will have to modify some things. Yes, the dog holes are all the same and exactly 3/4".

Sawinery is not a preferred vendor
Sawinery has some really wonderful products, BUT the back office leaves a lot to be desired. The check out process DUPES you into buying additional items, a common ploy with these outfits that have no phone contact and seem to be online only order platforms. I ordered one item with a dupe involved, brought it to their attention within seconds. The fulfillment department acknowledged the error and responded with sending me what I wanted twice plus what I cancelled in a timely manner. Refund is said to take 10 or more days which is bs in this day and age. I have what I want but can’t seem to get these people to take back what I do not want. They should be kowtowing to me for my honesty in bringing their errors to their attention, but are too caught up in god knows what to take their products back. I could have had 2 of the items I ordered and the dupe item for nothing and I doubt they would be any the wiser.
Anyhow I have my set up blocks and will not do business with Sawinery again
