A little disappointed
It’s the first time I’ve ordered bare root plants. I don’t think I’ll be doing it again. Out of 4 plants, three made it through the post undamaged with a remaining one on the edge. I planted them all up in the hope that at least one of the two will make it.

Hi Pauline, The Actaea bare root rhizomes are strong and will survive the transport, if a small shoot has broken off that will be fine, new shoots will grow. Do plant them all. Alternatively send us pictures and we can advise and if there is an issue we will replace them for you. support@seedpantery.co.uk

Really impressed with the volume of seeds and bulbs in my first box. Too many to sow! As a novice I found the info sheets a little overwhelming but with some patience it was pretty straightforward to follow. Cant wait to see what grows!

Sweet peas
Fast delivery was good.
However, out of 30 sweet pea seeds sown I only have 3 successful germinations which is disappointing.

Hi Norma, we think there is time yet as you ordered earlier in May. Sweetpea seeds take anywhere from 10 to 28 days to germinate, it can help to soak your seeds for 24 hours before sowing to soften the seed coat and speed germination. Any queries please let us know: support@seedpantry.co.uk

I ordered this plant x 3 as I could not find them in a garden centre. I have looked everywhere. Delivery was quite slow but at least they came. Planted up same day and they are regrowing.

Need more local and biodiversity supporting plants
June update: Seedpantry have now included 'POLLEN FREE FLOWERS' in the choices. I am at loss for words!!!! If you are a new gardener, I implore you to NOT learn from them. We are in a biodiversity crisis!!!
We need more choices (in flowers) that are local and support biodiversity.
The instructions were same as what would have been on a seed packet. Standard template. I was hoping for more and detailed guidance on how to plant, what to plant, where to plant, how to look after, etc.
Felt the seedpantry value add is very limited. It was an annual gift subscription, else I would not have continued after the first box.

Thanks for the feedback Sarika, we appreciate your input on climate and biodiversity. In the first instance the Seed Pantry Grow Club is designed to get more people growing plants and make it easy to do so, while demystifying gardening. Box are delivered each month at the right time to grow the 50+ choices available with expert grow guides providing details of how to grow, seeds, flower bulbs and bare root perennials, where they should be planted and how they need to be watered to maintain growth. Plant choices are an interesting mix of natives from around the world that now are grown in the UK with our changing climate. A large part of what we do is to focus on plants that support biodiversity by providing food for the 250 species of bees in the UK, butterflies and birds and this is a key part of how we are evolving the Seed Pantry subscription product. For example the majority of flowers we offer are open (single flowers) for insect species to easily access the nectar, and much less of cultivars that are for show only (double flowers bred for show are hard for insects to reach the nectar within) and don't benefit nature as much. There is room to improve the way this is communicated within the product information and is part of ongoing enhancement of the product. The tubers arrived extremely quickly, they were all carefully packaged.
I have planted them and they are showing signs of life.
