Sessions College was so great for the flexibility and accessibility it provides.
While working full time, not to mention having to care for my son as well, Sessions made it easy to do my courses without hard deadlines each week.
The instructors were always helpful with their assessments and gave good advice.

I entered the Professional Web Design Certification program with many years of related experience, but learned quite a lot that I hadn't worked with before. I enjoyed the self-paced lectures and projects and got as much as I could from each of the course modules. My instructors were knowledgeable and provided excellent guidance and critiques. I've already begun to use my newest skills in my current position.

The course is rather superficial, it's mostly based on reading material. Many lessons are outdated and many links are broken so we can't get access to the videos they are trying to show. General YouTube videos are used to explain the lessons on some of the subjects. The projects were hard to execute based on the content of the lessons alone so extra research is needed. I use Photoshop for 15 years and had a hard time executing the projects, I have no idea how a person new to Photoshop would be able to get it done, especially in the time frame you're given. The worst for me was that every time I finished a chapter they removed those lessons from my dashboard so I lost access to it's content and couldn't even see my grades anymore or the comments received on my work. Many times I needed to go back to the content of a previous chapter as I needed that info for the next project and that was gone. The course has an expiration date of 12 months so don't think you can take it at you own pace. If you don't submit at least one project per week you'll fall behind and will be charged a good amount to extend for another 6 months max. In my opinion this course is way too expensive for what it offers. They also don't give you a transcript after you finish so you don't even receive your grades at the end, only a certificate . There are many online courses on these subjects that you can take separately for a fraction of the cost and will probably be more engaging. This course will not prepare you for a job, it will just give you an overview about each of the subjects so you can have a sense if you like it or not.

This is for a person who has a good sense of self motivation, and patience with the program. Materials can be outdated and lessons confusing. I found myself spending more time on YouTube than in the classroom itself seeking for explanations or examples. I wish I had realized this prior to committing to a full year program such as this. Needs improvements to student support and should show more in depth examples of lessons and exercises. Some video links were dead, some material was very outdated. Professors varied in how helpful they were and how responsive, some were great and very helpful while others were vague and did not seem to care one way or another. Expect varying results with grading or messaging, as some are speedy quick while others take a week or two. When working under a time constraint, it is important to budget your time accordingly. Best of luck if you decide to pursue this style of continuing education!

The Web Design certificate program gave me the foundation I needed to make a career change.

Excellent value and strong program for asynchronous learning. Challenging coursework and strong, individualized critiques from instructors. Weekly advisor connections with guidance and resources readily available. Highly recommend.

The Sessions College for Professional Designers web design course was quite a challenge for me and required a significant amount of interaction with the Session College staff, in particular, if it were not for the Military Student Advisory staff i would have fell through cracks before the end of the first semester. In addition, the repour and personal touches between the Professors and myself was and is second to none, as it stands now, I'm well on my way and looking forward to an interesting and enterprising profession.

Sessions College for Professional Design offer excellent programs. If you apply yourself, you learn from the instructors!!

The course was very comprehensive. I learned something that I always wanted to learn, HTML, CSS, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and much more.

This is was a really great experience and J was still able to juggle school/work and internship.

The program wasn’t incredibly difficult and the briefs were very educational. However, a lot of the real world scenarios used as examples in the lectures were very dated…like “this company from 1987 needed a logo design and blah blah) dated. Lot of the links included as resources were broken and the ones that weren’t were also dated. They were articles written 10+ years ago. Sections talking about current practices like social media marketing were so generic. I could learn more from a YouTube video.

I did learn a lot and the critiques were helpful. However, some of the instructors did not grade things in 1-2 days like the agreement says. They took 5+ days at times and one didn’t even provide feedback after that long wait.

I did learn many things and feel more confident in my design work, but there are a lot of things I need to learn on my own that I feel are basics and essential to actually taking on jobs. Ex: document specs weren’t really discussed. Sometimes they were given, sometimes it was “go figure it out, there are wrong ways to do this by the way. Good luck! ”…a lot of fundamentals weren’t discussed either, but they were brought up in critiques like we are expected to know these things already.

For thousands of dollars it could’ve been a lot better.

I absolutely loved it! I was very apprehensive about returning to school but Sessions made the process was seamless. The professors were wonderful to work with and provided honest feedback. The only drawback ,being new to the college experience was I would have loved to have had more guidance in the beginning to help navigate a schedule plan and what course to complete in which order to get the most out of the program.

Overall, I liked the program but the lessons need to be updated to match the current versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign that are being used.

I had thought about a degree in digital arts for a long time but couldn't commit to another BA or an AA degree. The Sessions Professional Certificate has been perfect for me so far in terms of timing, flexibility, and cost. There's a bit of a learning curve at first as you get accustomed to the online format and go through the lessons on your own, but they are detailed, and you immediately apply what you've learned to use in the assignment, which can be a portfolio piece too. My teachers have responded quickly as well. I do feel a bit pressured for time but that's because I work full-time as well. Overall, I am so happy that I chose to apply for this program and fulfill a long-time goal of mine.

I learned so much from this program. Online learning is not my favorite but it was very practical in my circumstances of living in a small town and not having access to a classroom environment. While sometimes a challenge with limited feedback, I think given all circumstances it worked well and I was able to gain all of the knowledge I was hoping to achieve!

One thing some of the instructors did occasionally was provide video instruction which was the most helpful when learning new software or techniques for color correction, for example. There is only so much understanding one can gain through reading and following multiple steps without prior knowledge or experience. Whenever they can make time to upload an actual video and explain things in detail, I felt like I got the most from those situations!! Sometimes it felt like make it or break it to understand how to do certain things. I would encourage instructors to do this more often and perhaps develop a library of videos to help with specific aspects of software learning or even camera controls, would be great!

Some of the material was easy to follow along with but some of it was hard as well. Not being able to do live sessions on more difficult task is the only thing I didn’t like about it.

I completed the Undergraduate Certificate on Digital Photography. All of the classes I took were relevant to my goals. The professors provided great feedback on each of the class assignments. Through the courses, I gained confidence on my photography skills and gained new knowledge beyond what I was aware or expected. My comment for improvement is the need for an increased use of video for certain lectures and concepts. "Everyone" has video courses on the internet for everything, Sessions should follow that trend and exceed expectations in their courses.
