This service is junk. I placed an order at 11:00 a.m. and was told it would be delivered between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Every hour on the hour, I was told it would be another hour later. I'm sitting here at 7:00 p.m. and no order. I've contacted customer service twice and was told they don't have any shoppers in the area and that they put a premium on mine. Nothing changed. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE EVER.
The shoppers are nice- Shipt company is SHADY
The shoppers are usually very nice and communicate well to me regarding if they need to substitute an item, for example. However, the last 3 orders I placed thru Target (delivered to my apartment utilizing Shipt) had at least one item missing.
AFTER I rated and GAVE A VERY GENEROUS TIP to the shopper, I went through my bags and that’s when I see something is missing.
I have called Shipt customer service a couple times (when I realized an item missing) and they are of ABSOLUTELY NOOOOOO HELP!! They talk nicely (obviously from another country, but who cares), the outcome is ALWAYS THE SAME. “I’m sorry we can’t credit your account for the lost item. Once your delivery Is done and delivered, there is nothing we can do.”
I will never order delivery from Target again if they continue to use Shipt.
As far as I can tell, the Shipt shoppers are nice but the company is as SHADY AS THEY COME. I can’t believe this company is still open and operating. Rip off.
TARGET- please change the delivery company you use- please!
UPDATE: I CALLED TARGET MAIN OFFICE in TEXAS and they are wonderful! They credit me for the delivery fee and and missing item. She said if that ever happens again, don’t call Shipt, but call Target in Texas 612.815.8330

I jumped into this gig and handled around 70 orders in less than two weeks. even becoming a preferred shopper for a handful of clients. I payed out of pocket twice to fix a issue for stats . But you encountered plenty of challenges—glitches in navigation, low pay for long drives, and some truly difficult customers who sent frustrating messages.
At the end of the day, you found that if someone's determined and to handle the stress, it can be a decent side hustle—especially if you invest in things like a cooler bag for temperature-sensitive items and plan ahead for double orders. It’s possible to make it work if you're ready for the pressure. You did appreciate the ease of getting approved, but overall, the experience just wasn’t worth it for you.
Not enough time to shop estimates are unreasonable
I love the customers and used this service through Meijer myself but now I understand why my orders were always wrong. For starters the time given for these orders is impossible to compete in time. I have 5 star review but I'm at risk of being dropped because of lateness which if done right and you check with customer on many items out of stock or even purchased online through the store app and haven't been in stock in years one bakery employee told me. Also the Meijer employees are the worst lately rude not even willing or attempting to help when asked for assistance. I believe the scanning process may be rigged as well it's amazing how many orders I'm close to getting deliveried on time and scanner won't work like today rolls were scanning as cantaloupe.
Low Shopper Compensation Leads To Delayed Orders
The company doesn't compensate shoppers enough to make it worth the trip. Some orders are so far from the store, that after the cost of fuel, it's not worth it. This is the reason orders are being delayed, because nobody wants to take them. Many offers slowly increase in value if you wait. If they don't reach profitable value, then the order is likely to be never taken. You pretty much have to hope that the customer gives you a good tip to make it worth it.
If you're using Shipt for deliveries, I'm so sorry that you're experiencing these delays. As a shopper, we're expected to grab everything in your order within a very narrow time window, regardless of the amount of items and distance and get it delivered all within the same time. They don't take traffic or store conditions into account either. We get penalized for late arrival, regardless of the reason and low reviews.
Some customers are great, but others are not. They rate you low due to things outside of your control like poor communication, substitution choices, spoiled goods when they're not home to receive it, etc. If we can't reach the customer; let alone find their location due to improper entry into the system, then that also leads to delays and a dropped order. I almost had to return over $200 worth of items due to that.
I've started taking less orders due to these reasons and poor customer ratings that were accusing me of things outside of my control . Until Shipt gets real about all of these factors, I can't recommend them as a delivery service or gig opportunity.

Our delivery person Dani in Tuscaloosa Alabama delivered our pkg to 533 not 553. No apology to me the shopper And Didn’t get anyone to sign for it. Shipt is a loser in every respect. Dani said lol and then stated I was rude. So yeah, someone else got My package. Seriously?

I tried Shipt for the first time today. I needed some items for my son's school trip and did not want to travel back to Target.
After delaying my order delivery once to later in the day (after the delivery time), I received notification my order was further delayed until the next day. At the time of this second notification, Target was near closing leaving me with no option to get the items.
What an absolutely awful experience for a first time user. I won't be giving them a second chance.

I wish I could give a lower rating…
I wish I could give a lower rating because they don’t even deserve the 1. It took them almost 2 years to approve me, then after working with them for almost 2 years my driver account was deactivated and my appeal denied because I “didn’t meet guidelines” regarding on-time delivery. I only drive occasionally and rarely delivered late. However, this affected my stats somehow. I was given a warning and even re-took the training course to only be deactivated the very next day. All of my other stats/ratings were excellent. But when it comes to the driver, the company has no remorse or consideration for anything. The estimated shop times don’t account for long checkout lines, waiting 15-20 minutes for associates to grab items from the back, traffic, people who have loose animals, addresses that aren’t map registered, customers who don’t respond to messages or calls, incorrect product locations, and etc. That’s probably why so many orders are promoted with extra money incentives because they are deactivating all of their good shoppers for insignificant reasons and there’s no one left to accept orders.
Absolute Disgrace of a company
This has been one of the most dishonest, misleading, and infuriating shopping experiences my wife and I have ever had.
My wife placed a $135 order through Publix, and about $100 of that total was supposed to be BOGO items. The app automatically added two of every BOGO item to her cart—as it should—so we assumed the discount would apply. Because roughly $100 was held on our debit card, we expected to see about $75 refunded once the BOGO savings kicked in. That never happened.
When the order arrived, we were stunned to see that we were charged full price for every single BOGO item.
We contacted support and spoke with someone who called himself Cadence, a “senior support rep.” Instead of helping, he repeatedly insisted—almost lectured us—that we had “purchased two of each item” and that the full charge was correct. We went over the math again and again. Only near the end of the conversation did he finally admit that Shipt—not Publix—charged us, and that Shipt simply does NOT honor Publix BOGO deals, even though the app adds the items as if they do.
He refused to give his last name.
But here’s the part that proves exactly what happened:
Publix accidentally left the actual store receipt in one of the bags.
This receipt shows that Publix did apply the BOGO discounts… and then added the full price back so the total would match what Shipt charged us. In other words, Publix honored the sale, but Shipt overrode it and billed us full price anyway.
Shipt claims they charge a 15–18% markup. The math on our order shows they took 33.3%.
This company didn’t just overcharge us—they misled us, stonewalled us, and then treated us like we were too stupid to understand basic arithmetic. The behavior from both the system and the representative was deceitful from top to bottom.
My wife and I will be posting this experience everywhere we can, because people deserve to know exactly how Shipt operates.
Customer beware.
If this review keeps even one person from being overcharged, dismissed, and talked down to the way we were, then at least something good will come out of this mess.
A funny smell
Shopping was fine. But the shopping bags and some of the groceries had a funny smell. My suggestion to the shopper is to make sure your car does not have a strong odor because is it sticks to the items and bags.
Beware of Shipt shady Tipping practices
I’m a shopper. In the last two weeks. None of my orders offered show tips. Zero. Also you can get your tips a month later. Crazy. They also want you to submit an audit. They know a lot will not so I believe they steal your tips or part of it. Most people tip a percentage how are all the tips $5 and $10. Also most people spending $200 to $500 on an order is leaving a tip. There is no way, 12 of my orders over $300 left no tip. 2 orders over $800 left no tip. It’s some shady stuff going on. Screenshot everything. Also email or call your states attorney general. Idk what’s happening with Shipt but it seems like shady stuff going on. It’s a great app, great orders easy to use. But it’s something fishy about there tipping system.

Terrible
Terrible. I placed an order around 4pm with an expectancy of 6-7pm. Then it changed to 7-8pm all of sundden changes to 9-10am two days from now. Mind you the is open until 11pm everyday. So I’m confused how this could happen. I’m pregnant in my third trimester and shopping is difficult so being able to order groceries help a lot. But this is caused more stress and headache and I’m left with no food and my money tied up for days if I cancel.
Stops your Target App until you pay a tip of 10% minimum! Ransom is more like it!
I’ve had to order home delivery for groceries from Target due to illness. EACH time Shipt delivered. The delivery people are nice but there was an extra fee for something I didn’t know about. The WORST thing they do is that the next time I open my Target app, the SHIPT app pops open, asking for a Tip for their delivery person. The Shipt app shuts out my Target app until I choose a tip, 20%, 15%, or 10%. This is groceries! That’s at least a HUGE tip or tax that they hold me ransom until I choose a tip. Honestly I can’t even shop for a pick up at the store until I pay a tip to my last delivery person!!
The worst
Zero communication, never delivered inside the delivery window, orders of smelled like weed. Terrible inventory tracking— app says things are in stock and then miraculously the shopper can’t find any.

I placed my order at 3:45 PM for a 5PM-…
I placed my order at 3:45 PM for a 5PM- 6PM delivery. Then I get text saying it was now moved to 6PM to 7PM…. I called to complain because it got moved up AGAIN 8PM to 9PM. The rep guaranteed that it would be delivered, that my order had been escalated and would be worked on immediately. NO, another dang text now 9PM to 10PM. Horrible service. I am extremely disappointed

Horrible lying customer service offers me a trial for their 360 subscription so I decided to try it out since I wanted same day delivery I ordered my shopper was getting ready to cash out my items and then they canceled with no explanation! I reorder THE ITEMS AGAIN directly after for SAME DAY DELIVERY WE ARE NOW INTO THE NEXT DAY AND STILL NO ORDER HAS BEEN DELIVERED INSTEAD I KEEP GETTING MESSAGES FOR DELAYS. The storm is not an excuse because I ORDERED several hours prior to storm starting!
Lower Your Expectations or Pretend This Is a 5 Dollar Delivery Co.
I was optimistic about using Shipt, but I wish I'd lowered my expectations instead. What a weird company and an equally bizarre experience. I wish I had looked up the reviews here, and on other sites prior to my using a grocery delivery "service". It's not that it's that bad, but it was not as great as I thought it would be. It seems like this is now becoming the norm across the board regarding these types of online services/independent vendors. It's like how we all are paying top dollar now for Taco Bell or McDonald's. Kind of a sad state of the world now I don't mind saying here at all. Total bummer.
