Great reading and word processing, stylus needs improvement
The size of the device is excellent, and I love that it is backlit and runs on Android. I also like that the backlighting has an adjustable warmth setting that can be used to turn the screen redder, which really makes it easier on the eyes. I’ve been using the device for reading and, after downloading Google Docs and attaching a third party keyboard, for word processing and have been satisfied. I’ve removed a star because the stylus experience isn’t great. I bought the stylus but haven’t been using it because of the lag when writing. My ideal device would be the size of the Box Go 7 Color Gen 2 but have a stylus experience like the Boox Note Air5 C: a higher quality writing experience, and a stylus that attaches to the device magnetically

Palma 2 broke. promised to fix and then refused.
Palma 2 broke and I emailed boox help. They made me jump through weeks of procedures and unclear instructions to finally assure me that my unit was under warranty and I could return it for a repair. Then, days later, they said, actually no, it's NOT under warranty, "sorry." Sorry? Your product lasted only 15 months and you don't care to stand by your commitments?

They have terrible after-sales support
They have terrible after-sales support: promised updates don’t arrive, and long-standing bugs don’t get fixed.
Putting Android on an e-reader sounds flexible, but in practice, it’s been a mess. On my older Onyx device, basic web browsing is essentially broken because of an expired root certificate, and there’s no supported way to update it. As a result, I can’t reliably open websites, and Google services (including signing into a Google account and using the Play Store) also don’t work.
Overall, the hardware concept is undermined by weak software maintenance.
