Avoid Parks Jaecoo Perth - want my money back

Perth Jaecoo Parks
Saw an advert for new Jaecoo 7 - £349 deposit and £349 month. Lies..... £2k deposit and £420 pm.
Went with it as wanted hybrid AWD car, all done by phone.
Paid deposit over phone and they emailed me details of the car but noticed was NOT hybrid so phoned straight away and no it wasn't so told them it wasn't a negotiable thing for me so needed to cancel sale.
That was 12th March and STILL waiting for my money back and cannot afford to buy another car without the money for deposit. I messaged 3 times and I got 1 reply
Neil Rattray (manager) just ignores you completely, helpful when getting a sale.....not so much now
Absolutely awful customer service! I live in the country and need car for work and this is having a huge effect on me. The finance is still showing LIVE over 2 weeks later and stopping me buying another car!!

Parks in East Kilbride - impossible to contact

Parks in East Kilbride are virtually impossible to contact, certainly not first time. Every time I try to contact the company I have to make multiple phone calls.

I generously gave them two stars because when the work is done it is up to standard and staff are pleasant enough.

The evidence suggests that they are simply under-resourced, whether in terms of staff or technology, to deal with the range of activities taking place on site.

Very Poor Courtesy by sales team

The level of courtesy from the used car sales team was very poor. I was expecting to purchase a bZ4X, but my experience with their sales team was disappointing.

40 breakdowns, 10 days before Brand new JAECOO 7 will be looked at by garage after it won’t start.

Bought my brand new JAECOO 7 four months ago and done less than 1350 miles and it won’t start.
The RAC came out to recover it to Parks Irvine where I have been told my car won’t be looked at until 6th February, and there is no courtesy cars available.
I’ve been told there are 40 other cars in a waiting list to be looked at and given courtesy cars. Not a good sign for 25 plate cars if you have 40 with major faults.
How is someone meant to go 10 days without a vehicle?
Not the service you expect buying a brand new car.

Terrible Experience & Product…

Terrible Experience & Product Disappointment at Park's Toyota, St. Boswells
I am writing this review to express my profound disappointment and dissatisfaction with the service and the product I received from Park's Toyota, St. Boswells, following the purchase of a vehicle that I now regret daily.

I chose Park Motors based on positive recommendations from friends and family. I traveled 75 miles from Hamilton to the St. Boswells branch and purchased a Toyota Corolla on November 5, 2025. The car appeared to be in great condition during the initial inspection, test drive, and in the demo video.

Immediate Issues and Safety Concerns
Within just two days of purchase, I noticed several issues:

Water accumulation in doors.

Alloy wheel paint deterioration.

Poor reverse camera visibility.

Exterior paint chipping.

USB slot malfunction.

Front tire air loss.

More critically, within a week, the hybrid system failed while I was driving with my pregnant wife and four-year-old son in heavy traffic. The sudden notification and loss of power forced me to pull over, causing significant distress and panic for my family. This critical failure has completely eroded our confidence in the car's safety, which was the primary reason for the purchase.

Contract Cancellation and Repair Attempts
Given the seriousness of the hybrid system failure and the other defects, I immediately emailed the branch to cancel the contract and return the car. While they replied via email, they initially refused to speak with me on the phone until I contacted the Company Head Office.

On November 15, 2025, I took the car back for inspection. When I raised the issues of stone chips, scratches, and paint deterioration, the manager shockingly responded, "this is a six years old car which would have some kind of those problems because of its age." This suggests they knew about the poor paint quality that became visible shortly after purchase.

I was told I couldn't simply reject the car as the law gives the branch a chance to repair the faults, so I reluctantly agreed. I was given a courtesy car, initially insured until November 19, 2025. I faced uncertainty over the insurance coverage for the subsequent two days (November 20th and 21st) as my calls to confirm were ignored.

Failed Repair and Lingering Defects
I was informed the car would be delivered to my home on November 21, 2025. The delivery was rushed, and I had to interrupt my duties as a carer to meet the staff. Upon delivery, the car looked perfect again, and a small bottle of touch-up paint was left for me.

However, the repairs were clearly inadequate. Shortly after, when driving in light rain, the following initial issues became visible again:

Water accumulation in doors.

Exterior paint/stone chips.

Tire air loss.

Trusting Park Motors one last time, I waited another week, but the issues worsened. I informed them on December 1, 2025, and the Head of Business promised to investigate and reply within 24 hours. Once again, there was no reply.

The continuous issues, the poor communication, and the failed repair attempts have led to a total loss of confidence in the vehicle and Park Motors

AVOID!!!

AVOID!!!

Horrific experience. Put down a £250 deposit on a car, confirmed with the salesman that this was refundable. Decided not to go ahead with the purchase. Was then told that the deposit was not refundable.... took me the best part of a month to get the deposit back.

Would not recommend.

Stock showing, not their !!

Wasted my time after l placed an order for a Hyundai Tucson boot liner only to be told they did not have stock afterall. Got a refund but annoying that l wasted my time going through the order process. Come on stock control is a fundamental of any supply business.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

Firstly I must highlight I did not purchase a vehicle at Parks Motor Group, simply as I had enquired several times about the new Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy and left my details to contact me when it was available. That contact never came, therefore I took the above vehicle out on a business lease elsewhere.
Roll forward 9 months to Thursday 28th August 2025, 9 short months after taking receipt of the most expensive vehicle in the Hyundai range.
The vehicle development a serious transmission fault (check hybrid system) and after Hyundai assist attending and finding no fault on their diagnostics they suggested taking to a dealership.
I called Parks Motor Group around 9.30am and explained the circumstances and was promised a call back. That call back was never forthcoming so I managed to get the vehicle to the dealership in limp mode, avoiding a collision with a blue lighted police vehicle as it had no power to get out of the way quickly.
On explaining that I had called ahead I was directed to the Hyundai service desk to immediately be informed that they could not accept my vehicle as the Hyundai diary was closed and I would require to take the vehicle to a competitor a distance away.
Again I explained the situation and that the vehicle was undriveable an not fit for purpose. I informed the receptionist that I was not moving the vehicle anywhere a removed my key from keyring and presented it to them.
A conversation then took place with someone else that I was not party to and a job card was then created, however with the clear notice that there was no guarantee if or when the vehicle would be looked at.
I requested the number for Hyundai UK and left.
There has been substantial communication with Hyundai UK, whom informed me they had escalated the matter with Senior Management at the Parks Group with the understanding that they would be in contact regarding a replacement /loan vehicle and to advise on progress.
That was on 29th August and to date not one bit of communication has been received from anyone in authority at Parks Motor Group.
The only communication has been to inform me that there has been no diagnosis thus far and that it " May" be the middle of w/c when they can update me, and certainly not from a Senior Management of the Group.
I drove past the dealership today 8th September to see if my vehicle was where it was left, however this was not the case and it has been moved. More alarmingly the Hyundai signs have been removed from the site and works are being carried out for what looks like a refit and a rebrand. This was categorically denied when I asked if the reason for the diary being closed as losing the Hyundai Franchise it was intimated to me that they were extremely busy.
Again I reiterate whilst I did not purchase the vehicle there, I did try and the pre service and after service leave a lot to be desired.

Awful and humiliating enquiry experience

Looking on the website at a specific vehicle which was one of many of interest, I entered my details to enquire predominantly about a part exchange. I was then called and I provided some basic costing information detailing my budget for a future car, however I was not asked for further detail around the size, transmission type, mileage etc of the vehicle I was looking for. I had a positive conversation with the handler of my enquiry, and arranged a call back for the evening. When I had some unexpected availability, I called in to the shop instead. I provided the name and store that the handler advised he worked with. I was passed around 3 different times and spoken to extremely unprofessionally, so ended the call in frustration trusting that the correct person would call me back as arranged. When I received the call, his tone was completely different. I was given advice as to why my current vehicle is now undesirable on the market, and why they would only buy it from me for between £3-5,000 less than the current equity on it, and £10,000 less than I bought it for in 2024. I was then advised that my future budget would never be able to attain the vehicle I enquired about, and offered 1 option that may have been suitable (it was not, as it did not meet my needs for transmission type or MPG). I was increasing my monthly spend and was able to attain my current vehicle within a smaller budget, so find it difficult to comprehend this result. I was completely condescended on the call, being told "I was an adult" and responsible for my own purchasing decisions when I questioned why my particular car had deteriorated so much in value in 1 year. I hadn't purchased my current vehicle through Parks so I had no vendetta to serve or angst against the company. This was my first experience and it will be my last. I received an email shortly afterwards asking for feedback, however I then received a call to complete the survey and advised I didn't have capacity but would be completing the online copy to detail my negative experience, and then when I tried the link had expired within 24 hours.

Great service nothing is too much!

I have recently purchased car from Parks Motor Group in Arbroath. Although there was couple minor problems with my second hand car that we have purchased the service has been outstanding. Nothing is too much bother and things were fixed immediately. Staff we dealt with were Rachel and Stuart and both cannot do enough for you. We also attended the showroom with our toddler who was a typical hyperactive toddler and staff were fantastic with her as well. Would definitely recommend this garage, go check it out ☺️

Be very careful when buying second hand cars from here.

If you are looking to purchase a second hand car from Lexus Carlisle which is part of the Parks Motor Group, make sure you check what they are selling thoroughly, and then do it again.

This is my experience with them.

I saw a VW Touareg (registration MM69UYW) in the Autotrader. Looked exactly what I was after although priced a little high at just under £34,000.

After a conversation on the phone with the sales rep, I was advised I could secure the vehicle for a test drive by placing a refundable deposit on the vehicle which I did.

I booked an appointment for a test drive that went well. I asked all the usual questions about service history and any issues with the vehicle etc and was told it was main dealer service history and no current or historical faults on the vehicle at all.

After visual inspection of the vehicle and the test drive, I found that the rear tyres were only just legal and when I pointed this out the sales rep stated that the tyres would be changed prior to me purchasing the vehicle.

The following day, I got a call from Lexus Carlisle telling me that they would not replace the tyres as previously promised.

It transpired that there was very little profit left in the vehicle due to Lexus having to pay out a considerable amount of money to have a major electrical fault fixed on the vehicle.

At that point, I made it quite clear I did not wish to continue with the purchase as the dealership had made a conscious decision to withhold information from a potential customer.

Two weeks later and many emails and calls to the dealers and I'm still waiting for my deposit to be refunded.

Outstanding Sales & Aftersales Experience

We traded in our Kia Sportage for a Toyota bz4X at Parks Toyota Carlisle and our experience has been great from the start.

Showroom environment is relaxed and informative, with no pressure selling unlike our previous dealer! Kept informed and went above and beyond when we had difficulty processing our application and organising collection. Special thanks to Kenny, Dan and Stephen.

Aftercare has been excellent too, solving small niggles with ease and we really appreciated the useful gift upon collection!

We absolutely love the car and so thankful for choosing Toyota and Park’s and would highly recommend to anyone.

I was a bit wary about ordering from Parks Motor Group given the reviews here but they have been excellent. Less expensive than my local BMW dealer with very quick delivery so what's not to like? I would happily buy from them again. Thanks for the great service.
