I have been ordering for two years now
I have been ordering for two years now. My favorites are the Ivory Salmon which I had here for the first time and the rainbow trout that i fixed exactly like the recipe that they included. The only possible down side could be the price, but I feel it is worth every penny. It always arrives frozen and in great shape. I am SOLD ON THIS COMPANY!
Sizzlefish is a complete rip off
Sizzlefish is a complete rip off. I paid $24.00 for a piece of red snapper and it was smaller than my finger. Not even worth the cost of heating up my grill or oven. It will go in the trash.

I spent $179.00 with a note to be sent along with it to my recipient.
They sent only 1/2 of what was written by me.
Nora, in "so called" customer service lied repeatedly to me by telling me that it was sent as written.
It was NOT. I was sent a picture of the card as to what little of my note was actually sent.
Shame on Nora & Shame on Swindlefish.
I am not one to lie !!! (Nora)
Truthfully & Sincerely,
James Roxburgh
Extremely expensive
Extremely expensive. We've order several times over the past 2 years. The delivery was fine, but if you want to find a coupon code you'll have to search the web... annoying. Three stars for the taste of its products, minus 2 stars because there are no photos of the packaging online, no brand name on the fish packaging itself, and no instructions on how to cook, for example, the crab cakes. The video shows someone placing them straight from frozen into a frying pan, but the only directions for everything fish is "how to defrost the seafood." As for customer service, for the first order, I searched and found a coupon but it would not load, and called... yes, the young lady was a bit obnoxious. Also, we questioned how authentic the "Faroe Island" salmon is because it is not fatty at all. It should be quite fatty and full of omegas. We've ordered it 2 times, but all were devoid of the oils that should be in such a expensive fish.
This is my second delivery from…
This is my second delivery from Sizzledish and I am so thrilled. The fish was delicious and their prices are great. This fish is fresher than I can buy at the local market. Absolutely love this company!
Promotion Not Honored!
Very simply I asked if a promotion was still in effect; they respond that it was; I placed the required order and did not receive the promotion. When I complained, they replied I had not entered the promotion code that they had not supplied. You cannot trust this company and Customer Service displays an arrogant attitude!
Terrible customer service
I was a subscriber for years and enjoyed their products. They have a rewards program. If you join because of the rewards program you will be seriously disappointed. After years I tried to redeem $45 worth of credit and they never processed it. I called them and they said I could redeem them on my next order. There is not going to be another order. They lost a loyal and longstanding customer because they couldn’t be bothered to redeem my rewards that I requested on their form and on their website.

I have no idea why these other poor reviews are on here. I've received my monthly subscription box from Sizzlefish to be in perfect condition, completely frozen, with fish that tastes fantastic. For a family considering Sizzlefish I would suggest you overlook the poor reviews and give them a shot.
Absolutely the worst customer service…
Absolutely the worst customer service I’ve encountered just trying to purchase a gift card for someone. They sent the recipient an email informing them of the gift then 20 minutes later told them it was canceled. Very embarrassing and I tried to discuss it with them and the explanation was it was a high fraud risk. My cc matched my name, address and phone number so what on earth are they talking about. My cc company did not initiate it. I’ve had this card for 20 years. I left a phone message so they’d resolve it and send the gift and when I didn’t get a call back the so called supervisor responded to my email that they would not be calling me back and she had already dealt with that. Apparently she didn’t want the $100 gift order. I wonder if the owners know how things are handled there.
I have never had a problem ordering…
I have never had a problem ordering from Sizzlefish. The fish always arrives frozen solid, dry ice packs still full and the fish itself is absolutely delicious. Yes, it is on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. My only complaint - if you could call it that - is that many of the labels are at the bottom of the container instead of on the packaging, so I have to re-label everything. They need better sticky labels!
EXPENSIVE FISH ARRIVED WARM
A fish order arrived warm with poor Packaging. No dry ice or gel.
Shipped FedEx ground from North Carolina to Colorado. 5 days to get to my house. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Do not use sizzlefish!! Tell everyone you know. VERY EXPENSIVE Do not waste your money. DON'T BUY FISH FROM SIZZLEFISH!!
Thank you for sending rotting crab…
Thank you for sending rotting crab cakes to my door late and with very little dry ice. They would not have survived being shipped on time anyway the way they were packaged. My husband ordered the crab cakes to be delivered on my birthday, they arrived almost 10 days later. Sizzlefish use to be a decent company but they went way down hill. I would not trust their food the way they treat customers. Customer service is almost non existent or a basic joke.
Untrustworthy Customer Service
I have received 3 or 4 subscription boxes from this company. The value wasn't great, but it was convenient. I was not sure whether or for how long I might continue subscribing with them. Then a spammy email followed by some exchanges with their customer service decided the matter.
I received a marketing email from them encouraging me to sign up for their subscription. I found this a bit irritating since I was already signed up, but I found it significantly more irritating because I explicitly had marketing emails of any kind turned off in my contract preferences with them. This caused me to worry they were one of THOSE companies that abuse access to email addresses and disregard contact preferences and treat unsubscribe attempts as temporary at best. However, they are a relatively new company and this was the first inappropriate message I received, so I decided to bring the problem to their attention then ignore it unless it happened again.
In my first message to customer support, I noted if this misuse of my email occurred in the future, I would cancel my subscription for what I see as email abusive practices. I was surprised, then, to receive a prompt response telling me that, per my request, they had cancelled my subscription. Clearly this agent had been fast and careless in reading my message. I replied that I had not requested my subscription be cancelled and asked to hear back from a supervisor. (Note that having the cancellation undone at this point was going to cause me to have to go back in and rebuild my box and several additional-one that were to ship in a week or two, and I'm not sure if they would all still be available to re-add).
I received a reply that opened: "I am a Supervisor of Customer Support at Sizzlefish. I have personally reviewed your case and the communication errors that occurred. I want to apologize for the misunderstanding that led to the unintended cancellation of your subscription. Given the content of your initial message, our team mistakenly assumed that you were requesting a cancellation." This is all well and good except that the reply was signed as coming from the exact same agent as the first message. She is her own supervisor! (An online search suggests she is actually the entire customer support team.)
I noted that her message, with its careful use of passive voice, was deceptive and seemed intentionally so. I proceeded to cancel my subscription (intentionally, this time) as the nature and deceptive phrasing of thus response seriously undermined my trust. In response to my message which was explicitly critical of the agent for trying to allow the impression that she was a third party reviewing that matter, she (same agent for the third time) included this line in her last response: "We apologize for the misunderstandings and any inconvenience caused during your interactions with our support team." Again: signed by the same person.
I can't speak to the entire (very small) company, but the customer service team of one raises serious competence and integrity concerns.
Their rancid food is going to kill someone
Placed an order for $150 surf and turf grilling package for my brothers birthday. At check out I selected the delivery date of his birthday which was 10 days out from my order. During checkout it said they would reach out if anything changed with my delivery.
My brother‘s birthday comes and goes no communication from Sizzlefish. I email them and they say that my delivery is delayed because of East Coast weather. I am shipping to Phoenix where it is sunny and 75° so this is irritating already. They apologize for the delay and say it will ship the following Monday so he’ll receive about a week after his birthday. Then Monday comes and goes still no communication from Sizzlefish. I reach out yet again And they apologize and say it will ship Wednesday now and they will expedite to overnight shipping. I receive the shipping confirmation and track the order.
These people shipped fresh raw steak and seafood GROUND across the country. The delivery is taking over a week to reach my brother. It will most certainly be rancid and capable of killing someone.
I reach out yet again to Sizzlefish. They say oh, just inspect the quality of the food upon delivery, still offering to do nothing to fix the situation.
Avoid this company they are going to kill someone. If I wasn’t paying closer attention to the shipping and delivery date and someone consumed this food they would probably die.
