Best Skyhook trip ever!
Thank you, Tom, our fabulous guide, for your knowledge, literal support and your humour ❤️ Absolutely fxxking amazingly awesome trip..... From stunning snow mountains, to quiet reflection at St Bernard's Hospice, to extremely scary toboggan rides and cuddles with the graceful giants, the St Bernard's dogs at Barryland. A fantastic mixture of challenges and relaxation, the weather and company just added to what is a great trip, would definitely recommend and do it again, thank you, Carol & Jodie 🙏🙏❤️❤️

Amazing trip!
Hassan was a great guide and worked tirelessly to ensure we were all kitted out and supported during the trek. Even through observing Ramadan...heroic!!
Everything went as planned, food was great, even in tricky locations. Accommodation good, although the refuge is very basi, we were still apply catered for.
As a solo traveller, felt safe and enjoyed the company of the group I climbed with.
Only caution was/ is that as a short trip, you don't get much time to acclimatise to the altitude, so need to be very fit, especially in snow.
I didn't summit, through personal choice, but still found the overall experience fantastic, supported and life affirming.
Can't fault the organisation, guides, cooks and experience.

This was definitely my last trip with Skyhook. I booked a two part tour. Climbing Mt Toubkal and visiting the Sahara.
To be honest, I would not recommend completing the visit to the Sahara with this provider. As a solo traveller, I contacted the company in advance to confirm whether the trip would still go ahead if I travelled alone. They confirmed that it would, without providing any additional comments regarding quality or potential adjustments other than maybe joining a group. No discussion of any price modifications that would have allowed me to make an informed decision.
After paying an additional £220 for this three-day trip as a solo traveller, I was placed in a van with approximately 20 people, despite the booking suggesting small groups. I was asked to pay for my own lunch, even though the tour description stated that all meals were included. I received back the money I paid for the lunch, however that is not the point! The dinner at the first hotel did not even include water, and a very small plate had to be shared between four people at the table. The stops on the trip also differed from those described in the itinerary, and some locations were not visited at all. People travelling with me paid between €70-80. You can imagine my disappointment!
After speaking with other passengers, I realised that I had effectively been outsourced to a trip booked through the GetYourGuide platform. While I am aware that this platform offers budget tours (and I have used it in other countries), this was not what I paid for in this case. The experience felt like a low-cost tourist trap. During the trip, we were accompanied by local “tour guides” who walked us around public areas and then demanded tips in a manner that felt almost forceful.
To make matters worse, my contact at Skyhook asked me to update him on how the trip was going. When booking a guided tour, it should be the provider’s responsibility to ensure service quality and passenger wellbeing at all times.
The first part of the trip was somewhat better, and I believe this is where their expertise lies. However, this is not an easy climb in winter, and the equipment provided was not always suitable. Two helmets did not fit properly, yet no adequate solution was offered; we were simply told to carry them attached to our backpacks. On the first day, after lunch, we began walking on snow while carrying all our gear but were not advised to use crampons, which would have made that section significantly safer and easier. I was wearing trekking boots, which were listed as suitable in the equipment description, yet the terrain was slippery and unstable in several areas, making that section far more difficult than necessary.
Ultimately, it was the natural environment itself that made the experience worthwhile, rather than the organisation or service provided.

Great trip! Beautiful walks amongst almond blossom and fantastic vistas. Lovely hotel - relaxed staff, comfortable rooms and tasty food. Hotel was perfect for a group booking. Guide was great - set good pace and planned distance well for needs of group. Can recommend to any one with some walking experience as there are a few slightly more challenging uphill sections. I loved being out in nature in gorgeous February sunshine.

There's so much to see. The highlight has to be the overnight trek up Volcán Acatenango to view the almost constantly erupting Volcán de Fuego. It's impressive during the day but absolutely spectacular at night and the campsite is the perfect viewing platform. Lake Atitlán, the deepest in Central America, was also a great overnight trip. It was serenely relaxing kayaking across it and the hike back along the ridge above the shoreline was very picturesque. I'd have liked the cycle ride to have been longer, but this too added to the experience. The shoreline town of Panajachel offers lots of opportunities for buying colourful souvenirs and has plenty of bars and restaurants to try out.
The main base of Antigua is likewise a busy but beautiful place to stay, enjoying the local sites and views, rooftop bars, restaurants and shops - of which there are a lot. Our courtyard hotel was true to Guatemalan style and offered tasty breakfasts in the cool morning air. Old Town Outfitters provided all the services of the trip and Pablo, our guide, did a great job in looking after us facilitating the experience and explaining the sights and history.
Prices are good value, take some local currency (Quetzals) but credit cards are widely accepted too. Both warm and colder weather gear is required. Daytimes are warm, but not too hot, and evenings and early mornings are cool. Long trousers (or gaiters) for the volcano hikes will prevent stones filling your shoes and do expect your clothes and kit to get very dusty from the ash. Either use the hotel's laundry service or bring plenty of bags for packing dirty kit.
Where you visit is well set up for tourism but doesn't seem overly spoiled by it yet. Visit soon if you love sunny picturesque locations and prefer to enjoy them actively rather than passively. It's well worth the effort of getting there.

This was a fantastic trip, highly recommend. It was great to have some different activities such as thermal baths and a trip to the ski fields, as well as hiking. Tom our guide was fantastic, it was great to hear about Slovakia and the area.

Excellent adventure on the Machame route to summit Kilimanjaro, well organised and led by Seb and Jackson from Ahsante tours.
Every aspect of this adventure, from planning and booking, to assistance with visa applications, and continued liaison
until we got to the trek was excellent.
We had leaders Seb and Jackson, along Peter, Cowboy, Pascal, Calvin, Mike, Suliman, Leonard, Bryson, Manuel, Joseph, and Pasat 🇹🇿 ⛰️
This team made our adventure!
I can't recommend this trip enough. A memory for a lifetime.
Recommendations for people considering this. Take up the portable toilet option; we had it, at the camps it was a life saver when you consider the on site facilities, and your possible distance from them at night! Gloves! The summit trek is freezing, make sure you have suitable gloves and a headtorch.

I’d never been snowshoeing before but I came across it as an activity on skyhook and thought it looked fun!
I’m so pleased I signed up, our guide Tom was fun and knowledgeable and made the activity easy to pick up. The accommodation and food were fantastic and the Swiss Mountain scenery was incredible!

I booked through Skyhook (I like the name!) and I was not disappointed - good straightforward organisation which made it simple for the clients. Skyhook and their local agent Atlas Vertical sorted all the logistics and food on the hill and made life very easy so we just walked and enjoyed the adventure. Our guide, Lagcen from Atlas Vertical, was steady and adapted the pace to suit the terrain, made sure we were well fed on our journey and looked after us extremely well.

Our guide tom was very friendly, knowledgeable and organized. Pick up and drop off was easy. The guesthouse Villa Linda was brilliant. Lovely large rooms with good facilities, amazing food, hosts that couldn't do enough. Really enjoyed the hot tub and sauna in the back garden. The hikes were local so not much travel time. The scenery was stunning in the snow. Tom was very knowledgeable about the area and history -sharing this with the group at points throughout the trek. The thermal baths were a great end to the day easing the aching legs and back for myself.
Would have loved a longer trip
Highly recommended

This is was my first experience for ice climbing and went so great we were so lucky to have Ben who is a great guide provided us with tips and tricks about ice climbing.
Despite the limitee snow and ice currently in Oslo with all the credit goes to climate change, we managed to to climbing for two days in the same site which was wonderful.
Can't wait to book another trip with skyhook perhaps a 15 days camp in everest 😊🤞

Savage Wilderness and my guide, John, did a wonderful job. They picked me up in Nairobi and spent over a week hiking Mt. Kenya, on safari and at their river camp in Sagana. I highly recommend both Savage Wilderness and John. Mt. Kenya was clean and empty compared to climbing Kilimanjaro.

Not Recommended – Beware of Skyhook Adventures
In detail:
I do not recommend this agency. I had positive experiences on my first three trips with them, so I booked another adventure to summit Mount Aconcagua and paid the initial deposit.
After my first meeting and reading more reviews online, I realized many people had negative experiences with this local company in Argentina summit company, so I decided to cancel my summit trip and planned with another company. That’s when the real issue arose: the €500 I paid is non-refundable and can only be used as credit for future trips.
The credit system is extremely restrictive. For example, I’m now booking another trip that costs almost €600, but I can only apply €77 of my credit to it. You are essentially stuck with them, unable to fully use what you’ve already paid.
It’s frustrating because this company seems more interested in squeezing money from customers than providing honest, ethical, and purpose-driven services.
If you’re considering booking with Skyhook Adventures, please be careful. Read reviews thoroughly and only proceed if you are willing to accept last-minute, restrictive policies.

My 15-day trek to Everest Base Camp was truly the trip of a lifetime, made even more special by the incredible team who guided, supported, and cared for us every step of the way.
First, a huge thank-you to our lead guide, Rinji Purba Sherpa. Rinji was exceptional in every sense—knowledgeable, smart, calm, and genuinely kind-hearted. His deep understanding of the Himalayas, the mountains, the culture, and every detail of the trail made us feel safe, inspired, and constantly learning. He knew exactly how to pace the trek, how to motivate us, and how to handle every moment with professionalism and warmth. I could not have asked for a better leader; Rinji was truly the heart of this journey.
Our assistant guide, Roshan Rai, was equally amazing—hardworking, dedicated, and always ready to help. Whether it was assisting us on difficult sections, checking on our health, or making sure we were comfortable, Roshan was always there with a smile and a reassuring attitude. His effort and energy made a huge difference.
We were also supported by a wonderful team: Suman, Bishnu Lal, and Rastya. They worked tirelessly behind the scenes, carrying our loads, preparing things ahead of our arrival, and making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. Their positivity and strength were truly inspiring.
Thanks to this entire team, the journey to Everest Base Camp was beautiful, emotional, and unforgettable. The route itself was stunning—snow-capped peaks, ancient Sherpa villages, prayer flags, peaceful forests, and breathtaking views at every turn. But what made the trip truly special was how the team made us feel: safe, cared for, comfortable, and treated like family.
This was not just a trek—it was an experience filled with warmth, friendship, and memories that I will carry for the rest of my life.
I strongly recommend Rinji Purba Sherpa, Roshan Rai, and the entire support team of skyhook. If you want a life-changing EBC experience, this is the team to go with.
