The process was excellent . In fact I did the application on my phone and made an error , by adding an extra zero.
I received a call to query, they fixed the error, once that was done I was kept informed of the process
In particular Lori and Therese thank you for such a smooth and efficient proceess.

Staff were efficient and friendly. Process was transparent and explained well.

I am not one to do this usually, but the entire experience with Solaris has made me pretty mad, so I am posting a review. Two stars because they were initially easy to deal with.

I was referred to Solaris by the company we were looking to buy solar from. Firstly, they gave us no indication that they were actually a broker and not a finance company (if I knew they were a broker, I would have probably just used my own).
I am self-employed, and I contacted my solar company to reach out to Solaris to advise them of the same. They ignored the email asking for tips for a self-employed person. Once we submitted our application, we provided docs as requested (there were two applicants). They then came back and advised that as I was self-employed, it would be difficult to get approval with me on the application and that we should proceed with just my partner as the applicant. This was not acceptable to us, and we said so.

Solaris simply gave up trying because the process was too hard. We have used brokers many times, and brokers are meant to have relationships with the lenders they use to battle for the borrower to get them over the line. This is the entire reason people use brokers. If we wanted them to quit at the first speed bump, we would do it ourselves. Brokers are meant to be an inside track to the best finance deals.

Solaris simply gave up at the first difficult step. I hung up from Solaris and rang my broker, and she was able to get us pre-approval in 20 minutes, using other documents to show my self-employed income. Because our broker called a contact at the lender and asked what could be done, not just give up because it’s too hard.

We decided not to proceed with Solar and the loan due to their association with Solaris. We have now secured a quote from another solar company and will be using finance secured by our broker.

I cannot in good conscience suggest or recommend Solaris to anyone. Find a broker who will battle to get you approved. Find a broker who will not give up if it’s a challenging application. Find a broker who will do whatever it takes to get you over the line. Solaris is not a broker who will do any of this.

MY RESPONSES TO REPLY BELOW THIS REVIEW
1: I did not hang up on Michelle, I was angry that she was giving up. I advised her to Withdraw the application and ended the call.
2: No one was responding to the points in my email, the email was ignored.
3: When i said Pre Approved, what i should of said was Approved if we wanted to proceed. Thats a explanation error on my part.
4: To say "we never gave up on you, you never gave us a chance" is a laugh, Michelle Literally said the only way we could proceed was to do application in my partners name only which was not acceptable. No efforts were made to see what could be done, no alternatives were considered. I stated i had many documents that could prove my income but zero effort was made to see what could be done. This is my point SOLARIS GAVE UP AT FIRST HURDLE.
