Renters or Property owners, avoid at all costs.
Our experience with Space Agency was extremely disappointing and stressful.
We rented the property for five years and always paid our rent on time while maintaining the home responsibly. Over that time, the rent was repeatedly increased, and eventually it became financially unsustainable for us to remain in the property.
When we decided to move out, we arranged professional cleaning at our own expense ($700) to ensure the property was returned in good condition.
After vacating, we were presented with claims exceeding $2,700 for alleged “damage” to the property. Despite repeatedly requesting itemised and categorised invoices to justify these costs, this information was not provided. We attempted to resolve the matter by offering $1,500 as a compromise, but this was rejected.
The matter proceeded to NCAT (Case No. 2025/00253807). At the hearing, the Tribunal Member found the amount being sought to be excessive and determined that a maximum of $800 was appropriate.
The property remained on the market for approximately 13 weeks after we vacated. We understand that Conrad Vass no longer manages the property.
Throughout the dispute process, communication from staff, including Conrad and Julia, felt pressuring, argumentative and dismissive, which added significant stress to what should have been a straightforward end-of-lease process.
In our view, this matter could have been handled far more reasonably and without escalation to a tribunal.
