Appalling service and rude owner

Appalling service. Started off well - they came to fit the boiler got paid in cash and disappeared. I was meant to have a yearly service with them but they never turned up to do any service. Max, who I believe is the company owner was rude when I tried to contact him. His response was “will you stop calling me…”.

I do not recommend this company to anyone.

Rocky, but finally done!

It’s been a little bit of a rocky experience…..
I first spoke to Max when I was in the process of buying a property and we knew the whole thing needing repiping, new boiler and new radiators. Max was really knowledgeable and honest and I found him to be really approachable (all the key elements when you’re about to commit a large sum of money)…

I was introduced to the engineer who was going to be working on the project, Shane. He seemed knowledgable and approachable. We were not moving into the property straight away as it required a fair amount of work (and obviously, it had no working heating - it was February when the work got underway). During the installation things didn’t quite go to plan…. I had been expecting two teams of people, but due to a similar job being booked at the same time, this was no longer possible- not a problem. It did mean that the job took longer than the predicted week we had been initially promised, and there was some illnesses and other extenuating circumstances (so I was told) from the 2 engineers at the property why they were not working the full days I had been expecting. Max, however did manage to manoeuvre schedules around so that our job did get completed.

Following on from the initial installation is where we hit some problems. I understood from having spoken to Max that, with large installations like this, there is a chance we may have some issues, but that these would declare themselves early. We did have some water leaks. The issue came when trying to get hold of the team to rectify the problems. They were not very responsive. I tried contacting via different means (text message, email, phone), but it took weeks for a response. Max happened to be away at this point and Shane had since left the company. This is when I met Mark. Mark is great. He came round and found the installation had been incomplete and was very honest. I later had calls from Max, apologising and gave me a refund of £100 for some aspects of the job that had not been completed to my satisfaction and the call outs for the emergency plumber. I then had to wait for them to arrange to come back and complete the final bits of the installation. Again, communication this side of things was not great and I had to keep chasing them (I did leave a month or two between contacts). Mark has come again today and finally finished the last bit of the job and I credit him with his professionalism. It is now 6 months almost to the day since the start of the install!

I am fully aware that we were unlucky enough to have had our installation done by an employee who was a bit disgruntled and it unfortunately showed in how he carried out his work. Max is trying to grow his company and was maybe a little too ambitious in his scheduling- which I am sure he has now learnt from. He is great at what he does and really does know the field. My main gripe, would be the lack of communication when things went wrong and the time it took to rectify things.

I would still recommend this company. It is a fledgling company that hit a little rut, but Max is extremely approachable and easy to work with and Mark (who came back to finish the install), is professional, honest and great at what he does.

After I needed a whole new boiler I was really worried about finding someone I could rely on to sort it out. These guys are nothing short of professional and I would recommend them to anyone needing assistance

Dishonest company, avoid.

Dishonest company, I hired him for a service and landlord certificate for a boiler, we agree on a price of £100 in all inclusive. He charged my estate agent £125. When I finally managed to speak to him (as he was ignoring me) I was told I’ll get a refund in a matter of days. That never happened, since then he just ignored all my messages and calls.

Based on your TrustPilot account and review history it's not surprising you'd leave any sort of misleading review. For a greater understanding for anyone reading the review, the customer in question took multiple weeks to pay for previous installs we had completed, this review is inaccurate and the customer has what they'd requested/demanded from us. SPLY LTD - Fantastic Service!

SPLY LTD were fantastic from start to finish. They explained the multiple options open to myself and then gave their recommendations. This allowed me to fully understand what was on offer and which was best suited for my situation, which actually wasn't the most expensive option. I couldn't recommend this company enough. Amazing work.

I recently had a central heating system installed in my home, and I couldn't be happier with the results! Mark and his team did amazing job.
From start to finish, the entire process was smooth and professional.
I would highly recommend SPLY to anyone looking to upgrade their heating system. The professionalism, quality of work, and great customer service.

I’m so glad I found SPLY LTD

I’m so glad I found SPLY LTD! From the initial quote to organizing the installation, Max was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout the entire process. Mark, the lead boiler replacement engineer, was a true standout. He’s not only highly knowledgeable but also genuinely cares about his work. Mark made sure the installation was done to the highest standard, ensuring everything met the strict regulations around boilers and venting pipework.

I highly recommend SPLY LTD and will definitely continue to use their services for the maintenance of my new WB4000 24KW boiler, as well as for any future plumbing needs. You can trust them to deliver top-notch service every time!

BRILLANT SPLY

I am really careful when choosing a supplier for work to be done whether this is for building or in this case a gas boiler supplier & installer. I do many checks and take advice from several people and never choose based on lowest price. When selecting SPLY I also emailed with questions and they came back with answers quickly and Max was really helpful. This continued to be the case after they had done the work and I fully recommend them

Perfect - Thank you!

Max at SPLY gave me some great advice on replacing my boiler and a very competitive quote. On the day, communication about arrival time was great, and Shane, the installer, was professional, friendly, tidy and really helpful. Boiler installed in an afternoon, operations explained and heating back on by the evening. Perfect - thank you!

Excellent experience with SPLY ltd

Excellent experience with SPLY ltd . The sales process with Max was very comprehensive and he spent a lot of time with me patiently explaining all kinds of install options for my rather not so straightforward situation ( 4 bed terraced house with a complex flu issue and an ancient dying condensing boiler) and recommending me a good future proof option in the end at a competitive quote. He also helped schedule and prioritise the install rather quickly given I had a situation with my existing Ideal ISTOR leaky Boiler

Installation : Shane is the best . Extremely Knowledgable and easy to work with . He made my rather complex job of installing a system boiler seem like a walk in the park . He is a one man army and could do most of the work with very little support . You are in safe hands with Shane and I would Highly recommend him.
Overall if I score my satisfaction:
Sales process : 10/10
Scheduling : 10/10
Installation : 10/10
Post install support : 8/10 ( only reason is maybe it’s a busy time of the year but definitely I got everything I needed in the end)

New boiler, excellent services, highly recommended

We had an old system boiler in our home and were unsure whether to stick with the same system or switch to a combi boiler. Shane visited us for a detailed assessment and provided a clear, structured analysis of the pros and cons of our existing boiler system. After his thorough explanation, we decided to switch to a combi boiler.

Shane carefully walked us through the installation process, explaining how the work would be carried out and the changes required to the piping.

On the installation day, the team explained the steps they would follow and completed the project successfully within the expected timeframe. We’re very happy with the service and would highly recommend them!

Thoroughly recommend SPLY heating

Thoroughly recommend SPLY heating, Max was quick to respond to queries and very helpful when deciding on boiler options. Quote was very competitive and Mark did a great job of the installing, arranging an electrician mid way through when it was required.

I would highly recommend SPLY to anyone…

I would highly recommend SPLY to anyone looking to get a new boiler installed. Spoke to Max who took the time to understand what we needed and recommended a new boiler based on our requirements. He ensured we didn’t pay for anything we didn’t need. Also booked us for a next day delivery and installation with no upfront payment!
The installation was done by Shane and George. Both very professional and respectful. They ensured the floor and kitchen counter top were protected. Made sure to tidy before leaving. Shane even went above and beyond by fixing some of the existing pipe work that the previous installer had messed up. He also took the time to explain and show how to operate the boiler and hive system if needed. Although it was a friday and it took a bit longer than expected to complete the job due to the old pipe work, Shane didnt leave until we were happy and all radiators were hot. No upfront payment was taken and even upon completion i wasnt asked for payment! I of course was happy to pay straight away but this again just shows how customer focused they are.
