What I Purchased
A £4,987 trading mentorship programme from Star Trading.
What Happened
7 days after signing up, I decided the programme was not right for me and requested a refund within the 14 day cooling-off period.
Why My Refund Was Refused
My refund request was declined because I had accessed some of the course modules, which under the Star Trading company’s terms and conditions made me ineligible for a refund.
What I Wish I’d Known
My recollection is that I was encouraged by the salesperson to listen to some of the modules before my onboarding call. At the time, I did not appreciate that accessing the content would affect my ability to obtain a refund. Had I fully understood this, I would not have accessed the modules before deciding whether to continue.
Why I’m Sharing This
I’m sharing my experience so that others carefully review the refund terms and fully understand the implications of accessing any course content before committing a significant amount of money.

Excellent 2 day course
I completed the 2 day course with STARTrading and found it so facinating, I have signed up for the 8 week course. The course was really well run and explained in a way that was easy to understand. I loved the community spirit on there, it was a really supportive atmosphere. Now I can't wait to start the next phase of my journey.

Amazing 2 day Trading Course
I’ve just completed an amazing 2‑day trading course, and it was absolutely jam‑packed with valuable information on both trading and the mindset needed to succeed. Lewis, Josh, and the entire team were outstanding — knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely passionate about what they teach.
As a complete beginner, I found the course incredibly accessible. It gave me a solid understanding of the practical and technical aspects of trading, and everything was explained in a way that actually made sense.

I took the 2-day training with…
I took the 2-day training with STARTrading and loved it. There were a few people in the training who obviously wanted more examples and how-tos.
There's quite a lot of talk about mindset and understanding why you want to trade, and giving realistic examples of how you can progress.
For me personally, and I think many others, there was a really good balance. If it had all been just how to trade, I don't think I would have taken it in.
At the end of the 2 days, I could not have gone off and started trading; that's not what it's about.
I am about to start the 8-week mentoring. It's a lot of money for me, but I feel that I am in very safe hands.
I have realistic expectations of what I will get in return and what I will need to do. I think the 2-day training is incredibly valuable. Without it, I wouldn't have felt so sure about making the investment into taking the mentoring.

The course was well structured but…
The course was well structured but packed too much in without long enough breaks. I confess to zoning out on occasion and couldn’t complete all the exercises in the time available.
I would have preferred 3 days and more breaks even at a higher price - it’s a loss leader anyway, anyone who thinks they can go away and do this on their own is deluded. You need the next step. Here there are mixed messages, there is a commercial money making aspect and driving you emotionally to sign up and there is an aspirational ethical aspect and the two don’t fit yet.

Great intro to trading...
Great two day course to get an introduction to trading. Of course this is has an element of a sales pitch to highlight the mentorship schemes but the balance was perfect in my opinion. The practical/technical aspects and introduction to trading was good for me as a newby to trading, it gave me the perfect level of understanding to make a decision on whether I wanted to move forward with a mentorship.
Excited to continuing my learning through the mentorship.

Unethical practices
Unethical practices. Got us to sign up for a 90 min masterclass on trading basics. 1 hour into the class, zero skills had been taught on trading. When few people started questioning that, those comments kept getting deleted by the admin without any explanation and those people were then removed from the session.
Contrary to what they have written in the reply this is what happened.
The session started at 7 PM. At 7.59 PM, as they had not provided any useful information yet given it was called a Startrading Masterclass, an attendee named Caroline wrote something along the lines of: We have not learnt anything yet.
It was a very fair comment to make so I had responded:
I agree with Caroline
And a few people commented along the same lines.
People'e time is precious and when you have taken 1 hour of it calling it s Masterclass and they are not getting back anything other than the life journey of Lewis, you listen to their grievance and respond appropriately.
The professional thing to do would have been to respond to the comments by saying this is what we intended to cover or the rest of the class will cover this etc. But instead without any response, comments were being removed.
Few of us then commented on the fact that comments were disappearing, and that it was disappointing.
Those comments were removed too!
And then people removed from the session.
What an unprofessional and almost childish way to deal with attendees to a session expressing a concern.
Your business will run on goodwill and respect for people's time. People are allowed to voice their concern, there are better ways to deal with it. Please take this feedback constructively as all feedback is meant to be. Ratings and reviews are the most powerful source of information for a business.
Noone called it a scam till polite but valid comments posted about not getting enough from the session after an hour, started just being removed one after another. That's when people found it very disappointing, odd and scam-like.

Firstly, they were not 'questions' being asked, you, and others in the group, were making disrupting comments while other members of the group were trying to give us their time and attention. The word 'scam' was entered into the chat multiple times, by yourself and others, and we have a zero tolerance policy of accusatory or disruptive comments, hence why they were removed, and can be showcased by your used of the same word in your review.
Secondly, we do not advertise that you will learn any 'skills' on the free Masterclass. It is designed to demonstrate what can be achieved through trading, how to achieve and, more importantly, to help establish if trading is suitable for you right now which is showcased sufficiently, so the intention of the session has been met. We do not teach you any 'skills' on a free Masterclass.
To summarise, you had to be removed from the sessions for continual disruptive behaviour to our team and was never there to learn the skill of trading. Despite you only being present for approximately 45 minutes of the session, with another half to go, you had already made your decision that it was a 'scam' and made the decision to disrupt the group.

The two day course was very informative. I had no background or knowledge in trading prior to doing it. It was great to see the charts and get to grips with some of the methods used, but also work on the psychology and mindset needed to be successful. Something I had not really considered before but now know is vital! Thanks to the team for making it fun and engaging throughout. I have taken a leap of faith and signed up for the mentorship program and I can not wait to upgrade my skills to secure a better future for myself and my family. From Curiosity to Commitment in just one weekend.
What an exceptional weekend with Startrading. Two full days packed with valuable knowledge, insight, and genuine education. Lewis and Josh were outstanding throughout. Patient, honest, relatable, and incredibly engaging teachers who made complex topics feel understandable and achievable.
Behind the scenes, Amanda and Krisie were equally fantastic. The support never stopped, and at no point did I ever feel like a question would go unanswered. The community spirit throughout the course and Facebook group was also brilliant.
Considering the weekend only cost £98, the value was honestly outstanding. The transparency, empathy, passion, and commitment shown by the whole Star trading team completely convinced me to continue my journey and sign up for the full course.
What stood out most was how personal everything felt. You are treated as an individual, not just another number. I genuinely believe these guys care deeply about helping people improve their mindset, confidence, and financial future.
I highly recommend taking the leap, even if it’s just the weekend course. The knowledge alone is worth far more than the cost, and it may completely change the way you think about your future.

Taught me so much!
I have done a few courses trying to learn as much as I can about finance in general. This 2 day introduction course from star trading gave me more information than all of the other courses put together. The instructors are incredibly patient, helpful and above all else give you a safe space to learn. They’re not pushy with trying to upsell but if you want to learn further then it’s available. I’m so happy to be starting my journey with them and the wider community they create.

Great insight and taster for trading appetite
I thoroughly enjoyed the 5day course and can confirm all the members of STARTrading that I spoke with are truly engaging and encouraging people. They truly do want to support others in succeeding in learning the skills to trade.
I have signed to do the 8wk course but for personal reasons I have delayed it to ensure I am in the right head space.
While I felt the training was ok (there were at least 200 other individuals in attendance) and the individuals chosen to discuss their personal experience was enlightening I would say I struggled a little with the repetitiveness to take further action. As a result lost my attention and focus several times. I look forward to having the opportunity to take action with a smaller group and therefore feeling further engaged to bettering mine and my family’s future.

I really enjoyed the 5 day course
I really enjoyed the 5 day course, it really gave an insight to trading and started to teach me something. I have to say I do question whether I could learn this more in depth but I am confident enough to have signed up with them for further training and this is something I really want to do and develop. Its ideal if you aren't sure and to start to go through it and get an idea of what its all about.

I attended the 5 evening sessions which…
I attended the 5 evening sessions which I will assume is the same as the 2 day event most of these reviews have covered. I only have 1 negative to say about that and that is the amount of talking that goes on compared to getting down to practical learning. We all want to make money and have better lifestyles but I don’t feel the need to have to validate that with putting a 1 in the chat, none of us would be here if that was not the case and I know it’s about engaging with the audience and creating a community but that will happen in the facebook group naturally. The biggest negative for me was not finding out how much this was going to cost until the end of the 3rd session, that winded me like a blow to the chest from a prime Mike Tyson. To say I felt deflated was an understatement and I was ready to give up there and then. I knew there was going to be further fees to continue as nothing in this world is free but I feel this needs to be announced on the first session, with my frustrations getting the better of me I contacted Mark who replied to my messages and said he would be in touch. This is where the positives come from me I would just like to say from my phone call with Mark he is absolutely bonkers but in the best way possible I spoke to Mark and we talked about alternative options and I am excited to say that I am moving forward with Startrading and look forward to working with Mark in a few weeks time. I can only review what I have experienced so far and in a few months time I am confident I can bump this up a star or two.

A better and brighter future starts today
Absolutely really enjoyed this week. So much so that, even though we are really struggling for money at the moment we have taken a loan to do the 8 week course. 'Hopefully' when we have sold our house in a few weeks I will go on to complete the 6 month one.
This is how much I believe in structure, support and, commitment this company has shown me this week in helping it's clients towards achieving success.
Therefore, I for one am VERY excited and proud to be joining this, what quite clearly is community of ambitious and like minded people.

Very iffy in my opinion
Very iffy in my opinion, registered for free live webinar, It was far from live and clearly a recording with false chats, I know this because I signed up twice and the webinars were identical including the same chat questions and Lewis even forgetting to switch on his mike at one point. There is nothing taught in the live webinar that not common sense with the most basic finance knowledge or easily researched on the internet for free. Most of time its selling sob stories and trying to sign you up to their £98 two day training session that they claim gives you over a thousand pound worth of training and tools!!!!. From other review it seems they then try on these courses to upsell you thousand of pounds worth of additional training material.

Our free Masterclass is an introduction to what can be achieved through trading, how to achieve it and, more importantly, if trading is suitable for you right now, so it is not designed to teach you the actual skill of trading. This is what the 2-day event is for, which we openly explain during the session so we are very transparent in this aspect and openly state this when the Masterclass begins.
2. The stories are testimonials from both Lewis and some of our other mentees in our community, so they are far from 'sob stories', as you have described, and are designed to flag that we are STARTrading are legitimate and we're not just sharing our own team's experiences; we feel that sharing testimonials is important to highlight that members of our community have had these genuine experiences and have managed to resolve them through their learning of how to trade.
3. We explain clearly on our Masterclass and on our 2-day event that there are further options beyond the 2-day event for those who decide that they want additional support and guidance to improve their trading skills and achieve their goals. This is not for everyone, and we completely understand that and in no way, shape or form do we apply any pressure to do this; plenty of our 2-day event attendees take the skills away and backtest, practice and hone those skills to trade live. Others choose to come on as mentees and it is entirely their choice.
4. Our webinar does not have 'false chats', we simply choose to make the chat private during certain sessions to make it easier for our team to moderate comments and answer questions, mainly so that when we answer a question it doesn't disappear for them when other members of the webinar continue to type messages to engage with the content. As an extension to this point, the majority of our Masterclass sessions are live, however, on very rare occasions we may have to use a recording from our most recent session when there are scheduling conflicts with our team, however, if you sign up for the Masterclass twice, you will always get the same general content and only the delivery will alter slightly as it is not designed to be different, it is designed to do the above in point 1. We do not advertise the Masterclass specifically as 'live' for this very purpose, although the majority of the time they are. This is made even more genuine on our live events regarding your comment of 'Lewis even forgetting to switch on his mic at one point'; this was actually a connection issue on our most recent live session and not simply forgetting to switch the mic on.
We hope that this highlights some of your concerns and hope that this also showcases to others that we are very open, honest and transparent about our practices and what each of our sessions are designed to do, i.e. Masterclass v.s. 2-day event.
