We have been ignored by Member Services for over 5 month now since sending an email requesting to close our account. It's frustrating that they are quick to contact us for payment but completely ignore us when we reach out with a serious account issue.
Sapphire Resorts has been a horrible…
Sapphire Resorts has been a horrible experience! My family and I have never been able to use this at all. What we thought would be easy to use turned out to be all lies. We were misinformed about the costs and limitations of the timeshare and felt nothing but pressure from the salespeople. Even after I said no, they continued to push. The destinations they offered to us were undesirable, and then once COVID hit, we couldn’t use it, but they still collected money from us. This entire thing feels like a fraud. Then they tried to get us to upgrade. Why would we upgrade something that we’ve never used? To make all of this even worse, my wife was diagnosed with cancer, which has made paying for this even more challenging. I have reached out to Sapphire directly, trying to cancel my membership, and I continue to get denied. Do not do business with Sapphire Resorts

I have paid for this membership in full, and I simply want to close the account. I sent an email to Member Services, but it has been completely ignored. We do not want to be perpetually burdened with fees, especially considering this membership is absolutely not worth the high cost.

We’re writing to expose Sapphire…
We’re writing to expose Sapphire Resorts for their shady business practices. We have yet to be able to use their supposed “vacation club,” even once, because it is purposefully designed to be complicated and impossible. When we were sold on this, we were informed once the loan was paid in full, we’d owe nothing–come to find out, we have yearly “membership dues” just for being in the timeshare! On top of that, they increase year after year. We asked that we cancel our timeshare and membership, but Sapphire maintains a position of “you signed a lifetime contract,” which is absurd. We signed a contract for a product we thought we would be able to use. It was blatantly and wholly misrepresented to us, and they need to cancel our contract and refund us entirely. It’s absolutely ridiculous.
Sapphire Resorts Scam
We have paid our loan balance to Sapphire Resorts in full, and they still insist that we are bound by contract to a lifetime of membership fees. We have requested multiple times to cancel our membership–their solution to this was “pay us another $2,000, and we’ll let you leave.”
That’s a scam fee. They want to extort us to leave their membership. They constantly pester us with requests that we pay their membership fees, but we don’t plan on paying them anytime soon. When you have a membership to a club, usually the membership closes after you cease payments. Sapphire seems to have a different view of this: they think everyone should be a member for LIFE. We don’t plan on ever using our timeshare, but even if we wanted to, it’s convoluted and difficult to use. They need to do the right thing and cancel our membership.

We were unfortunately misled and trapped by misrepresentation into signing a contract with them, which was a significant error. Their customer service is truly appalling, making it impossible to resolve issues and leaving us feeling entirely ignored.

They deserve 0 stars. I’m constantly being hounded for payments even though I’ve reached out so many times to ask for help and explained my situation. They lied just to get a signature, promising fixed fees that they didn't honor; it was nothing but a FARCE. I’ve told them I cannot afford to keep this up, but they are holding me hostage unless I pay a massive balance for a service we never used. My husband passed away, and I’ve sent his death certificate to try to remove his name, but they won’t even do that!! They are unethical and have absolutely no respect for their customers.
Sapphire Resorts Lies
Sapphire Resorts has been a scam since day one. We contacted them to attempt to cancel their absurd loan and increasing membership fees, but they informed us that the contract they tricked us into signing was a lifetime binding contract. We’ve since done everything we can to try to exit their scheme, but time and time again, they hold firm. We were told we would get affordable vacations–that this would be an investment in our future. Instead, it’s an investment in their wallet. They are a shady business and you absolutely should NOT do business with them.

Sapphire Resorts SCAM!
Sapphire Resorts sales representatives will say anything they can to get you to sign up for their timeshare. Don’t be fooled–they’ll call it a “vacation club,” but this is absolutely a timeshare. They sold us on their resorts being pet-friendly and beautiful, showing us a variety of resorts that actually belonged to RCI. When you sign, they don’t tell you it’s a lifetime contract, either. Then, they lock you in for a huge interest rate loan and membership fees that increase every year. We want them to cancel our contract and membership, but they keep saying “there’s nothing they can do,” as if they don’t have the ability to close one of their own contracts. They’re liars, they’re crooks, do not do business with them.

This "membership" is a financial nightmare. Our experience has been awful from the very start. We have owned this for years and have only been able to actually use it three times. Every time we try to book, there’s nothing available, yet they still have the nerve to hit us with bills for ever-increasing maintenance fees. The customer service is even worse than the product. I’ve tried to have a human conversation about cancelling because the service is a joke, and their response was basically: "We're sending you to collections, stop emailing us, and pay up." They literally told me they would stop responding to my emails because I’m asking for a way out of this trap. They are all smiles when they're taking your credit card, but the second you realise the "product" is a scam, they turn into debt collectors and ghost you. Save your money and your sanity: stay far away from these people!

This was one of the most misleading and uncomfortable sales experiences I’ve had. The entire Sapphire timeshare presentation felt like a high-pressure pitch built on promises that didn’t hold up.
The “gifts” used to get you in the room largely don’t materialize, or come with so many restrictions they’re essentially worthless. What’s advertised upfront is not what you actually receive.
The presenter was condescending and talked down to attendees, and the closing staff came across as insincere—shifting their tone and persona depending on who they were speaking to in an obvious attempt to manipulate the sale.
On top of that, there’s heavy pressure to commit immediately, with little transparency around the real costs, limitations, or long-term obligations.
Overall, the experience felt deceptive and unprofessional. I would strongly recommend avoiding Sapphire timeshare presentations tied to RCI properties.
SCAM!
Sapphire Resorts is a total scam! I was lied to and pressured to make this purchase by the salespeople at Sapphire Resorts. Their sales reps made false claims about the benefits, and I was pressured into making a quick decision. Since I made the purchase, there have been fees that I was not expecting, and I was given misleading information about the benefits of this timeshare. I feel that I was completely taken advantage of by this company. To make all of this worse, Sapphire withdrew money from my account without authorization! Every attempt to cancel has been met with rudeness or has been ignored. Stay as far away from Sapphire as you can!
Misleading Claims and Relentless Pressure
Our experience with Sapphire Resorts was extremely disappointing and frustrating. From the very beginning, the sales process was high-pressure and uncomfortable. We told them MULTIPLE times that we were not interested in purchasing, yet we were repeatedly pushed to continue the conversation and were not allowed to leave without speaking to yet another salesperson.
The salesperson fed us what we now know were misleading claims—promising deeply discounted cruises and week-long trips for as little as $399. It sounded appealing in the moment, especially since my husband was planning for retirement and hoped to travel more. However, after taking a closer look, the reality is very different.
Between the monthly fees and the actual costs of booking these trips, it would end up being significantly more expensive than simply planning and booking vacations on our own. What was presented as a great deal turned out to be anything but.
Overall, the experience felt deceptive and overwhelming. We left feeling pressured, and now feel misled, and frustrated. I would strongly caution others to do thorough research and think carefully before committing—this is a scam.

My experience with Sapphire Resorts has been nothing but awful! I was lied to and pressured from the very beginning of this process. I was told there were no maintenance fees, and the only fee would be for the mortgage. That was a lie. The maintenance fees continue to increase, which is causing nothing but problems. There is never anything available to use for vacations. I have contacted Sapphire directly about exiting this membership, and I am either ignored or met with suggestions that will not help me reach the resolution of closing my membership. Take this as your warning to stay away and to not do business with Sapphire Resorts.

I am disgusted by the lack of integrity from this company. If I could give them 0 stars, I would!! When we signed up, we were fed a list of "benefits" and "guarantees" that turned out to be nothing more than a sales tactic. They didn’t tell us the total amount financed, what our monthly payments would actually be, or how the points system even worked. Not a single promise made to us has been fulfilled, and there are zero options to exit this contract; it is a total waste of money that we cannot use member services gives no solutions, just excuses.

Having a timeshare with Sapphire Resorts has been a terrible experience for us! We were victims of a high pressure sale presentation that was an absolute scam. We were basically held hostage until we agreed to move forward with the purchase. There have been nothing but fees on top of fees, which is adding lots of financial stress. We have been trying to come to some type of agreement with Sapphire for years to help us to get out of this, and they refuse to help us. All they ever offer is for us to pay $2,000 to them, or to pay it off and then sell it to someone else. We don’t think either of those are reasonable options. We have continued to make payments in hopes they would work with us to get out of this, and they continue to refuse. We feel extremely misled by Sapphire, and we caution anyone interested in associating with them not to do so.

Stay Away
I am so fed up with this company. I have been trying to get out of my timeshare for a couple of years now, with no real results or solutions. Now, whenever I reach out to Member Services, I am told that “due to the high volume of member requests, we are unable to respond to further demands for cancellation.” It is extremely frustrating that they will not respond to my requests, and clearly, they are getting a lot of other requests, considering they are saying they will no longer be able to respond to us. This entire thing has been a nightmare. We can never book anything! Take it from me, do not fall for this scam!
I was promised much better availability…
I was promised much better availability than what I've experienced, and the increase in fees is unacceptable. I have fully paid off my account and wish to close it, but the company is refusing my request. Member Services won't respond to our attempts to contact them, insisting on proof of a medical or financial hardship to cancel a membership that is already paid in full.
