Stepping Stone Maths Avis 47

At the end of year 10 Charlotte was falling just short of a pass at grade 4. Her recent mock result has seen her score increase by an incredible 20 marks and we are confident she can secure a grade 5. We have gone from stressing and worrying about her passing it to being certain she will attain a strong pass! She even commented ‘maths is my favourite subject now, I really look forward to it’. I never thought I would hear those words! I can’t thank Jo and Stepping Stone Maths enough.

Nicola has been fantastic with my daughter! She has always struggled with maths and is dyslexic but her confidence has grown massively. She is getting more marks on her mock SATs and says maths is one of her favourite subjects now. Ella says Nicola makes maths fun.

Jo has been absolutely brilliant with Dan and her work
with him definitely meant he stopped avoiding maths and really did
work hard for his exams. Dan has really enjoyed his sessions, his
confidence has just increased ten fold and more since he started with
Jo. There is absolutely no doubt that the sessions will have made a
difference to his results not least because of the confidence Jo gave
him but he's gone from refusing to look at something because it was
too hard to telling me it is easy!
Whatever his results, he will have done better than he would have
without the sessions, the fact he sat his exams and did everything he
could in them and then went back and found he could do more is
testament to the confidence Jo has instilled in him.

Bradley has been working with Henry since January 2025. Brad has struggled with some maths concepts including algebra at school however the time he spends learning with Henry has really benefited him. Henry breaks things down and makes it easy to understand. Brad relates to him and seems to be making great progress in school now. Thanks Henry your work is appreciated

Regardless of what Jessica’s SATS results may be, she has in our opinion made huge progress in her attitude and application towards maths.
It does not come easy for Jess, but she has really grown this year and your support and guidance has been just what she has needed to be ready to move on to secondary school with confidence.

I will be honest, I was surprised she wanted to continue tutoring into secondary school. But you have laid the foundations, made her feel comfortable and she clearly values what she has got from this year.

You know when you wished you'd done something a long while ago... and then finally did it? Enlisting the support of Nicola and her team at Stepping Stone Maths is absolutely up there for me! One of my best decisions during 2023!

Flo was "holding her own" in Maths but struggled with confidence and at times the pace at which new methods were taught.

I reached out to Nicola and said just that, our need was a little extra time each week to reinforce learnings in a fun environment where questions could be asked and Flo could learn at her own pace.

That ask has, and continues to be well and truly answered. Who would have thought that an 11 year old would look forward to a 30 minute Maths session on a Friday afternoon AND reminds me of the number fun she wants to do before the next session.
