Safety Hazard, Deceptive Warranty, and Bait-and-Switch Practices
I am sharing this to warn others about the business practices at Kinnls. In late 2023, I spent $2,600 on Kinnls chairs, a decision heavily influenced by their marketed 10-year warranty.
The Bait-and-Switch:
My order confirmation clearly shows I purchased the Evan Massage Office Chair 3.0. However, the chair delivered was actually a 2.0 model. I discovered this only after the chair failed and support identified it as the older, discontinued version.
The Product Failure:
Just over two years into ownership, the Evan chair suffered a severe structural failure. The metal frame deformed, causing the chair to violently snap out of the "locked" position and pitch backward under normal pressure. It is now a serious safety hazard.
The Warranty Breach:
Kinnls reviewed the photos and acknowledged the defect. However, despite the "10-year warranty" that induced my purchase, they refused a no-cost replacement. Instead, they attempted to extract another $600 from me for a manufacturing failure they already admitted was their fault.
The "Sitting Subscription":
A premium chair should amortize to ~$100/year over a decade. By refusing to stand behind their product after only 2 years, Kinnls has turned a premium purchase into a more than $500/year "sitting subscription."
Action Taken:
After a month of unproductive engagement with Kinnls support, I am sharing this review on consumer platforms and am in the process of filing formal complaints regarding these deceptive and fraudulent practices with the Texas Attorney General and the FTC.
Buyer Beware: Do not trust the Kinnls 10-year warranty or the model descriptions on their site. Based on my experience, Kinnls does not deliver what you order and does not honor the promises they make to get your money.
