Really solid fire.
Took me a while to get used to using the decorative logs. Only use 2 logs at a time now, as I set the fire alarm off in the house, as the fire was touching the logs!
The oil does give off a smell - will try other oils too.
Provides a lovely heat, and we just make sure the door is ajar for ventilation.

This is my third purchase from stove world, and I purchased the ecosy elk. There where some issues at the start, but they were quickly delt with by the stove world team. Kelly and Tom are genuinely outstanding team members and a credit to stove world, this is probably the best customer service I have ever experienced!! The ecosy elk is a beast of stove, worth every single penny, it's exceptional value for money compared to stoves that cost far more and in my opinion, having owned a number stoves the ecosy elk is right up there with leading premium stoves without the heavy price tag.

Great customer service, the delivery was prompt and trouble free. The stove is now in place waiting for the flue to be fitted, so we can't comment on its useability although it looks the part so expecting it to work well. We had just one concern with the design of the 'feet'. There are 4 adjustable, levelling bolts which I reckon, with the point loading on our porcelain hearth could possibly crack or break tiles. One solution would be to order a base unit which seems to have a flat base plate. Instead, I engineered a 3/4" base plate to the exact size of the unit's feet. Cost me £23 instead of £300 for the base unit. The last stove I fitted was in Australia and it had solid, flat steel sheet as standard, to spread the weight of over 100kg on a tiled hearth. It worked well and there were no problems. Picture shows the extra base plate which I sprayed with matt heat-resistant paint and baked in our oven to toughen. Blends in nicely.
