While downloading another APP by mistake this APP must have slipped in, I still don't know how - next thing I knew I got a text saying I have subscribed to Stripey and will be charged for each message I receive from them. They gave the number 88222 to unsubscribe, but when using it I got each time the message: not delivered. I sent a text to the tel. number they gave and asked them to confirm that I have unsubscribed but never received an answer, i.e. didn't know if I had unsubscribed or not. Finally on reading through here I found their website and info that one can unsubscribe there. Have done so and received a message of confirmation. By reading their terms and conditions I found an email where one can send a request for refund if unsubscribing within 14 days. As I have no idea what they have charged me so far and really am upset about their non-decent business practices I have done so - am now waiting to see what happens. But all this took me a few days and quite a lot of wasted time!! They should be investigated for fraud!
Update: I am just now getting an email from them: Thank you for contacting us.
In order to investigate this further for you, please can you confirm the mobile number that was used to sign up to our service. We cannot find anything on our system with this mobile number.
I think this really really is FRAUD!!!!!!!

I accidentally clicked on a pop up ad within an app I was using. It was actually a green 'start' button at the bottom of the screen which I mistakenly thought was part of my app.

I received 3 text messages in quick succession, realised what must have happened and went to their website to unsubscribe. I've been charged £1.25 for each of these text messages. If you do not cancel quickly, you will continue to receive premium rate messages and they will also charge a monthly subscription of £1.50, increasing to £14.99 after the first month. It all just gets charged through your phone bill. Shocking practices!!!

This should be a 0 star. SCAM SCAM SCAM. Texts received from premium numbers and charged. I had 3 in quick succession before I could sent STOP. It's a disgrace. Nothing seems to be done to curb this type of activity.

Terrible. The website is deceitful and designed to have you sign up without realising. This is an obnoxious scam. Avoid at all costs.

Scammed my partner out of £40 over 2 months. Completely oblivious to what he thought were simple messages telling him about offers ! Never even signed up or heard of these people before !!! Total scam of a company. Also actioning this with fraud as this is a total breach of GDPR.

I don’t know how but I have apparently signed up for this service. I have reduced my spend cap to £3 as this is what I’ve been charged this month and can’t go lower until the next month starts. The STOP text to end the membership won’t send. Just wondering has anyone who is receiving these texts bought from Temu?

Random text late at night saying I'd be charged £1.50 per message. Never heard of them or signed up to anything. Went to send the STOP text to 88222 but it said it would charge me for the message. I blocked and reported as spam, but was still concerned I might get charged. I clicked the link included in the message (stripeyoffers.co.uk or something similar) and they had a section at the bottom of the page where you enter your mobile number and unsubscribe. It told me I've successfully unsubscribed, and won't be charged for any further messages.
Disgusting rip off company, should be illegal.

This company of fraudsters should be brought to justice and closed down.
I was scammed through AMAZON who somehow have latched onto their website and advertising.
Watch out….there are THIEVES about. Just contact your phone provider and they will block messages to and from this rogue company.

Totally scammed... The company send unsolicited and unwanted premium rate messages until to you cancel and your phone provider charges you for the messages received. Didn't sign up for this and a nightmare to get it to stop. This type of business scam should not be legal or allowed... My actual rating would be minus 5 but app only allows 1 star minimum. Advice if you get caught is to act quickly to Stop, or the charges will continue with each useless message they send. Action should be taken to stop this total scam.

Who the hell are StripeyOffers.com, how did they get my mobile number & manage to charge incomming messages to my O2 account at £1.25 per message. I have tried contacting O2 online for assistance as my online account is now showing additional charges of £6.50. I have never subscribed to StripeyOffers.com & whould like the scam & fraudlent charges to my O2 account refunded. I will be going into the O2 shop on Saturday for assistance with this matter as I am concerned my O2 account has been hacked. I have texted STOP but sispect this won't work. Tried to unscribe on their website & says phone no is incorrect. Ironic as I never subscribed in the 1st place & now they are using my mobile no. Reported to action fraud as well.

Absolutely outraged ! I get this text at 4 am saying I have signed up to offer texts at £1.50 per text.
No idea how they got my number. There is a number to send STOP to, but this comes up with a message that my phone settings will be changed and wont send anyway.
I think this is a complete SCAM and I am reporting to Action Fraud and my phone Company.
There should be a minus star on Trustpilot , I do not want to give even 1 star
Update. Contacted Tesco my phone provider. Have blocked all premium rate numbers. Have set monthly over spend onto account to £0.00. Tesco have refunded the money these scammers took. I have further reported this Company to Action Fraud. As others have said, the STOP text does not work, and I suspect you pay for these @ £1.50 a go. The online form is ignored. The telephone number is automated and I was up for a verbal bollocking to them. Further investigation shows that they are based in Kingston.
If you are getting their premium rate texts, please report them to Action Fraud.

I joined a patient forum and in the process I somehow ended up being a member of stripey giraffe and being charged £1.50 for each text from them I typed stop to 88222 and followed up by sending email to stripeygiraffe.co.uk and have received confirmation that no further charges will be made. Just to be on safe side have set 0 cap on my phone. I cannot believe that this is allowed on a reputable website. Avoid anything to do with stripey giraffe
