After an initial consultation with Fola, my first impression was a warm friendly welcoming. Environment- The venue was modern and airy with ultimate privacy within the layout of the shop. I returned two weeks later had my first HD wig installed. It looks fabulous- I’m a baddie now!

I called asking if they had availability for wig braids and was told yes, come straight away. Upon arriving I informed two members of staff at the front desk that I had called roughly ten minutes prior for wig braids. I was then seated in the braiding chair and asked how many braids I wanted, which to me was a bizarre question given I had already stated what I needed. I reiterated I just wanted wig braids, whatever was needed to achieve that, and we settled on eight for £30. The hairdresser began combing out my hair and advised they would charge extra for detangling. I honestly thought it was a passing comment where she looked at my hair thought it was severely tangled but found that it wasn’t. In all honesty this part of “detangling” my hair only took 5 minutes. It was standard prep work you would do before braiding anyone’s hair regardless. When I queried this with the hairdresser in front of the staff who had given me the total price, she couldn’t dispute the five minutes yet in the same vein another member of staff stated the service was added because “detangling takes time” which one is it? No product, no finger detangling, none of the process that a proper detangle actually requires was used here in the slightest. It’s also worth noting that my hair is half relaxed, half regrowth, meaning a significant portion of it would have combed out with virtually no effort at all. That is not a £15 service. As further justifications for this service being added the hairdresser stated it would have taken longer with a different hairdresser… no one is detangling tangled hair in 5 minutes, regardless of expertise.

During the appointment whilst having my hair braided, I was also interrupted multiple times by different staff asking me the same questions - what I was having done, whether I had paid a deposit, whether I had made a booking. I had to repeat myself several times stating I just wanted wig braids and had called before I came in.
All together they charged me £30 for the braids and £15 for detangling. I’m not someone who haggles. If I don’t like a price I go elsewhere. I had seen on their website before making my way that my service would be £30 hence I proceeded, but £15 for five minutes of combing my hair out? Absolutely not. I negotiated down to £40, which I shouldn’t have had to do.

I will not be returning or recommending this salon to anyone. I only came because I needed wig braids urgently and for something so straightforward, it felt far more complicated than it ever needed to be.

Another appointment where I was well looked after by Fola and her talented team! My hair was coloured perfectly with my weave installation looking flawless. Thank you so much ladies! I travel all the way from Southend On Sea, as you are without a doubt experts in black hair!

I visited the salon for the first time today and was pleased that I did. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and dealt with my install professionally as it was strange for me having being used to my previous hairdresser whom I have known for almost 20 years!! I will definitely visit again . Thanks to everyone who dealt with me today 😊

She was so professional and attentive to all my needs and desires. I would definitely recommend her, the salon was neat and other staff welcoming. her Pixie is a must try 👍🏾

I absolutely loved how Fola and her team did my hair. Fola is lovely, professional and friendly and so is her team. I came with my daughter, who had a wash, blow dry and hair straightened without any chemicals. Fola and her team did an amazing job and made her hair bone straight. The staff was very nice & friendly. They offered me a beverage when I sat down & made sure that I was comfortable the whole time. The prices were also affordable. The style came out great as well. No complaints!

Came for a hair process - they didn't know what they were doing with my hair and were openly rushing each other to finish clients' hair and exclude parts of the treatment they paid for. Was giving them grace because I thought at least the hair is done properly right? Wrong. The reviews here are definitely accurate based on the behavior I saw.
Can you believe I had a chemical straightening process and it was only presentable (NOT even flat) for about 3 days after. Wtf 😂 Seriously, I don't think the owner knows how her staff behave when she's not there. At least I can hope she wouldn't accept it...

These people do not know how to conduct good customer services, the manager is rude and she is not professional. I am very unhappy with my hair. They don’t make any effort to ensure your hair looks great, and they overcharge you for such poor service and horrible hair styles.

I had a wash and blow dry appointment with Fola on Saturday and it was a fantastic experience. She was very thorough, professional, and made sure everything was perfect. The salon is clean and welcoming, and all the staff were super friendly. I’ll definitely be coming back – highly recommend!

Very poor experience. Made me wait 2 hours after my appointed time. Charged me extra (which was not stated on website) from having a ‘different’ hair type

lovely lady ! Did a great job with a sew in leave out and she has lots of extension bought them from hair if your looking for a place to have nice sew in she’s super Professional and nice did a really good job

I was handled by Norah, she was very professional and helpful as this was my first time getting box braids. The assistant hairdresser was also very accommodating and helped Norah with the extensions. I would definitely recommend Styles by Fola to a friend.

Great place to get you’re hair done no matter what you need doing. Staff are very friendly and welcoming especially on my first visit.
Needless to say it has become my new regular place to get my hair styled, and its not even local to me

After having some good experience there previously.Waited for 2 hours to get braids was . My hair was then rushed and only lasted 2 days which I was unaware of . When I left constructive feedback .Owner messaged me that I should get more expensive braids and it was my fault for the quality

Absolutely amazing service, I got my first cornrows done in May and receive endless compliments!! I went back today and receive the same great service, I will definitely be going back!
