I bought two ice bath commercial chillers from Syochi, and unfortunately the experience has been very disappointing. Very little support or setup information was provided regarding installation, operation, maintenance, or common issues to watch out.
Within the first month, one of the flow meters — which controls the entire machine — failed completely. This resulted in a six-week wait for a replacement part, and during that time the second flow meter also started failing.
Both machines, which I use for my business, have been extremely temperamental and unreliable. They require constant monitoring and attention just to keep them operating properly. The automated on/off programming is also very inconsistent, which has become a major burden in a business environment where reliability is essential.
For example, the machine takes a significant amount of time to cool the water to the required low temperatures, which is expected under normal operation. If production starts at 7:00am, the machine would need to be running by at least 5:00am to ensure it reaches the correct temperature in time.
This means that if the machine does not start reliably and automatically every day, someone would need to be on-site at 5:00am to verify that it has turned on correctly and restart it if necessary. This creates an additional operational burden for the production team.
To make matters worse, these machines are extremely expensive, and once purchased, returning them is obviously not a simple option. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend doing very thorough research before spending your money.
I can’t recommend these products this company based on my experience. Perhaps I was unlucky and received two faulty machines, but if I could go back, I would not purchase them again. Or I’d buy locally instead. And sadly, any attempts to speak with this company is met with minimal attention and no real desire to resolve any issues. This to me has been extremely frustrating and unsurprisingly a negative review has prompted a quick response.
