Terrace Downs Resort Avis 

We enjoy Terrace Downs and have stayed on many occasions.It seems to us that little is done to encourage repeat business.Perhaps a loyalty card should be considered to acknowledge and encourage regular visits.

We have just had an excellent fun filled weekend at Terrace Downs Resort
We rented one of their lovely villa's and 11 of us spent a relaxing weekend using the resorts wonderful facilities.
The mini olympics activities option we choose consisted of mini golf, archery and Clay-bird shooting Neil and Lexie were fantastic coaches, for some of us the gun handling was a bit daunting but their support and encouragement made it a really positive and fun experience.
We ate at the Hunters Restaurant and this was a truly wonderful choice they were very busy but were efficient and friendly and the food was divine. Coffee and cake in the cafe in the morning was also very good
All in all we could not fault the experience and we will most certainly be back . 11 happy women left Terrace Downs Resort rested, well fed and happy.

Would highly reccommend this resort to friends & family. Staff very friendly and helpful. Accommodation was very clean, modern and comfortable.

Loved the vista nd sense of space. Had a fab weekend filled with golf, tennis, tramps and good food and wine. Service was great and villas were spacious allbeit a little dated.

Our weekend was fantastic at Terrace Downs, we got the unlimited golf package which is terrific value. The course and the accommodation are outstanding and you would have to go a long way to find better.

Fabulous place, beautiful ruggered scenery, very spacious villa, well appointed and very clean. Great evening meal at Hunters restaurant and good breakfast in the Cafe. Very nice, helpful staff.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights and would have stayed longer if available. The golf course, accomodation, and staff were excellent. My preference would have been to have the cafe open longer for light dinners instead of always using the restaurant but that would be my only criticism.

My husband and I decided to take a 2 week road trip around the South Island (both are New Zealanders) and our second stop was Terrace Downs. We absolutely loved it! The experience of playing golf on such quiet surroundings was fantastic, we felt like we had the golf course to ourselves so made the golf that much more enjoyable. When we got to our room, well we were blown away. It was situated looking out over the 18th hole fairway so our balcony view was lovely, while we sipped on a lovely glass of wine. Although the weather wasn't that good when we arrived, we managed to get a round of golf in, but then went out again the next morning which was much more pleasant, so definitely made the most of the unlimited golf that went with the package deal we purchased. We had a meal at the restaurant that evening which was delicious and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. I definitely have no reservations at all in recommending Terrace Downs to anyone that is looking for a bit of luxury and unlimited golf!

I have stayed at many resorts and found it to be less than I expected overall. The food was good, but only 1 choice of Pinot Noir by the glass as am example, I found limiting, as was the others, so unless you wanted a bottle you had no choice.
There are other small things that I would have thought would be normal at check in at a resort of this calibre, but sadly was lacking, just simply 'I need a credit card'. No offer of room facility explanation, dinning times and suggestions and what activities were on offer were presented.
It was not bad per say, just not at the standard we were expecting.

Attended a wedding, and stayed the night in one of the villas. The location,views, accommodation, were more than you could ask for.
The attentiveness of the staff was brilliant and nothing was a problem...even down to keeping guests up to date with the latest cricket scores!!
Would recommend staying here

We had a lovely night at Terrace Downs, with a lovely three course dinner. We did find it rather expensive and the buffet breakfast was a real let down with terrible sausages and under cooked bacon.

My Fiancée and I had a fantastic time celebrating our second anniversary at Terrace Downs. We were greeted in our one bedroom villa with a handwritten note and a bottle of bubbles. After settling in we got wonderful massages at the spa that left us feeling refreshed.

Dinner was yummy and the service was great - breakfast was fantastic to.

We definitely would not hesitate to come again and enjoy the wonderful view and facilities that Terrace downs has to offer

Units are very well set out and equiped with lovely views. Service was great, only disappointment was the food at the restaurant, it was ok but just a bit ordinary. We had a dessert to share which consisted of 2 supermarket brandy snaps filled with canned cream and 6 mini tarts which you can also buy at the supermarket.

A magnificent facility with awesome geography complimented by first class golf course. The accommodation and general service by staff was excellent

Our villa was spacious, fully kitted out, luxurious and with a jaccuzi/wet room/bathroom to die for. Complimenrary wine and antipasta in the room were a nice touch. We were within walking distance of the clubhouse (did not use spa). Restaurant quiet but food up to standard. Golf course has excellent views and was a reasonable challenge. I did not like the gritty bunker sand.

Great rooms, tidy and clean really happy with it!

Awesome accomodation. Very comfortable and friendly.We couldnt have asked for more. What a view to wake up to , pity we tend to take it forgranted it is truely magic.
