I took 1-on-1 class at That's Mandarin with the aim to master Chinese daily conversation. I have learned Mandarin before, and the teaching's approach is customised to my level of knowledge, in addition to the guide book.The teachers also focused on my pronounciation, which I was lack of. They keep encouraging me to speak Mandarin during the class, to make me remember the tone and the vocabularies.

The course is designed quite well bottom up, from daily conversation needs to advance language learning. Staff is supportive and cooperative. Cherry on the cake is the learning through extra activities organized by the school from time to time

I studied an intensive group course in the summer for two months in Shanghai. I felt the result immediately. A beautiful and comfortable school, pleasant and competent teachers. Now I continue my studies online at this school. I plan to return again next year.

That's Mandarin is the best! I am currently a student and have been for over a year. My teacher（孟老师）has done an excellent job helping me improve my mandarin. Each class is well prepared and is tailored to my specific needs. The platform utilized does a good job allowing you to study between classes as well. I have five or so years of experiences with That’s Mandarin. Four or so years ago we came to Beijing for a summer and my granddaughter attended its camp. It was exactly what we wanted. She learned some Chinese but also had fun.
Once Covid started I decided I needed something to keep me busy Ang’s my brain growing. Therefore I decided to take online Chinese lessons. I had studied Chinese previously. Both the teachers and the materials impressed me. While studying alone and online is not ideal, my teachers patience and enthusiasm kept me going. Also the materials were interesting and besides learning the language I was learning about Chinese culture and life.
This October I came to Beijing again to study Chinese in person and to be in the environ. The videos we watched and discussed were interesting and relevant to the experiences I am having. The teacher is well prepared for class and every lesson is engaging.

I've only had a couple of lessons with Thats Mandarin so far but I can now already say that I find your teaching material excellent. Also my teacher Zhan Chang Min is very friendly and challenges me every lesson.

The platform is simplistic and user friendly and the lessons are engagining and well scaffolded. The teachers are pleasant and well-prepared, and the administrative staff try to assist with scheduling as best they can. Learning new languages in my experience can be arduous and tiring, but That's Mandarin makes it fun and it is managed professionally.

Going on a year and half with this company now, its not easy to find a good and credible online courses where the company/ school is responsive and receptive to your needs. As a first-time online language learner, but continuing Mandarin learner, this school was very organized and offers a high level of Chinese teachers and course administrators, especially teacher 吴 and Kitty from the admin team! My one-on-one classes are well-planned and communication between my admin and I is very quick at all times. The course website is very user friendly and all classes and previously learned materials are accesible. Do not hesitate to choose this company as your online learning partner!

I have been very impressed with the curriculum and materials at That’s Mandarin, and especially my teacher, NaRen Laoshi. I have been a language teacher for over 15 years, currently finishing up a PhD in language education. Based on my own knowledge and experience, I feel this is a very high quality language school. My level was assessed accurately, the materials are challenging but achievable, the materials are also engaging and well organized, and my teacher is really excellent. She is also super nice, which is a bonus! I am very happy to recommend That’s Mandarin to other Chinese language learners.

The user friendly interface make it really interesting and enjoyable to use. It even motivates the user to do reviews and previews of class. The facilities are excellent. However, some articles and audio may have inconsistencies, although usually the errors are only minor. I would suggest for a more user friendly mobile interface, so i can carry out my reviews at anytime anywhere. The concept of having 2 different teachers also allows the students to be exposed to different accents, which is beneficial in a language learning environment. Even so, having 1 teacher and learning 2x a week with added homework, i could feel that my proficiency is improving at a more solid pace. The range of materials interlaced with grammatical learning points are also helpful as the classes are not only focusing on grammar but the language as a whole. Being able to connect with my teacher on the same wavelength , who is also open minded to my views and ideas is also an encouraging experience allowing me freely express and practice the language i am learning effectively. All in all, I definitely would recommend Thats mandarin to others and am very grateful for all the progress i have made so far.

I have been taking lessons at Thatsmandarin for several months and I could not be more satisfied of my choice.
Over the years I have taken lessons with roughly 10 teachers from different schools, both in China and in Italy, and I can say that Elva (郝老师) is the best teacher I have ever had. Why? Not only because she is very prepared in terms of Chinese grammar, almost never speaks English unless strictly needed, very organised in terms of the material used in every lesson, but also because she is very passionate about her job, she's very committed to bring value to the lesson, she enriches the contents of the lesson with anecdotes and references to Chinese culture, which make her lessons not only very useful but also very interesting. The platform and materials are top for the purpose and make the difference compared to other schools, especially the videos - which they shoot themselves, which are useful to test one's listening skills (you can add subtitles, Pinyin, English if you wish, regulate the speed, etc.). It is more expensive than other schools, but totally worth it.

I've started learning Chinese with "That's Mandarin" this January and so far it has been just wonderful. I have a learning advisor, who was very quick to respond when I wanted to sign up for a course. The pricing is reasonably expensive, but for that you're getting a groovy language school. That's worth it!
My teacher is very patient, fun and understanding. Learning with her is challenging and fun, she keeps me on my toes. I'll stick to this school :-)

I'm very satisfied with the structure of the classes, easy to follow and review at home. I started to learn Chinese for daily life and in less than 2 months I'm able to have simple conversation with taxi drivers, in the restaurant or understand when they are calling me on the phone. I feel more confident to use the language. Even though I'm making a lot of mistakes it's a fun journey.

That’s Mandarin is a perfect choice if you want to learn from scratch or improve your Chinese. They offer different programs (intensive and part-time group classes, private 1-on-1 etc.) for every HSK level, so you are able to choose the most suitable one for you. This school has its own platform with videos and learning materials, which makes studying process very convenient and easy. I cannot not mention the whole That’s Mandarin team, including teachers and coordinators, who are very helpful, professional and friendly. Highly recommended!

Until now I had about 30 classes at That's Mandarin with different teachers in 1-on-1 private classes. This format allows me to learn at my own pace whenever it's suitable.

The classes are based on That's Mandarins' own video course on the plattform nihaocafe.com. You can access that plattform via browser and review the content and prepare for your next class. Since there is no APP available, I can't give all 5 stars.

The topics of the classes are related to daily life which means you can directly make us of your newly learned vocabulary! Since the school is located quite central in Dongzhimen, you can check out the restaurants and bars in the surrounding area and practise - 加油!

While in Beijing, our family learned at "That's Mandarin," receiving lessons that perfectly met our demands and Chinese levels for each.
My husband and I started from the intermediate level, but our requirements were quite different.
He needed to learn more business-oriented Chinese, while I wanted to acquire more about the everyday conversation.
So he learned through newspapers or news broadcastings, whereas I used Chinese serial dramas or TV discussion programs as the learning materials.

My daughter started from the beginner's level; Starting from Pinyin, she gradually learned Chinese characters and pronunciation.
Teachers introduce Chinese animations to enhance her learning morale, making her feel more affinities for China and its language.
After leaving Beijing, she's still taking online lessons. She doesn't have any Chinese-speaking environment other than the class but finally obtained HSK 4 last January after a two-and-a-half-year learning experience with "That's Mandarin," which we really owe to the teachers' earnest instructions.

I've taken about 19 classes so far and the learning journey has been very interesting and fun throughout. My teacher "Yan Bo" has been an amazing 老师! Although we have been doing the classes online, we would talk about our daily lives, which gets me to learn vocab outside the class curriculum. Highly recommended :)

I Strongly recommend That’s Mandarin

One minor mistake I made was going to this school 2 years after arriving in Beijing!! I can definitely say this is an incredible useful school for learning language for adults. Their online platform is also massively helpful as you can review your class, which has the notes you and your classmates made during the lesson. You can practice listening, reading and writing too. Very friendly teachers too! I would 100% recommend if you’re serious about learning Chinese while in China 😊
