Avoid like the plague
In my honest opinion, Dr Martin Kittel should be struck off. He has a extremely negative moral character. Avoid at all costs.

In my honest opinion, Dr Martin Kittel should be struck off. He has a extremely negative moral character. Avoid at all costs.
I had a consultation with Dr Martin Kittel about the xanthelasma in both eyes. Initially, I was told that he preferred to conduct a consultation over the phone (not even via Zoom). I was asked to send pictures of my condition, as he could determine the best surgical procedures based on those images. However, feeling uncomfortable with this option, I decided to visit the surgery in person instead. The consultation fee was £60, regardless of whether it was conducted over the phone or in person.
When I visited the clinic for my appointment, I noticed another patient waiting in the lobby. When Dr Kittel called me in, he briefly acknowledged the patient, telling him, "I will be with you in 5 minutes." This concerned me, especially since I was having a surgery consultation. In the end, the consultation lasted only about 5 minutes, which I found unimpressive.
During the "five-minute" consultation, Dr Kittel briefly looked at my xanthelasma ( literally about 10 seconds with a magnifying glass) before offering two options: surgery or laser treatment. However, I was not explained the difference between the techniques in terms of risk, success rate, etc. I sought more details about my specific condition, particularly the size and location of the Xanthelasma, but he seemed uninterested. He mentioned a discount for having four lesions removed at once. He also mentioned that if it was removed well the first time, the following surgery will be discounted. When I asked about potential risks, he referred me to a video on his website. He stated that all surgeries come with inherent risks and an ambulance would be on standby in case of complications. Even though it was a minor surgery, there are still risks, so consultations should be more detailed, as far as I am concerned. He stated he had performed this procedure over 10,000 times, but I am uncertain about the validity of that claim.
After the consultation, I then met with the nurse, who explained the costs, available dates and discounts for multiple removals. The nurse emphasised that the consultation fee will be refunded if I book surgery within 30 days.
In summary, I do not recommend this clinic or Dr Kittel, as I felt that patient safety was compromised. The consultation felt rushed, and I was frequently referred back to online videos for information about the risks and details of the operation, which concerned me. I was not adequately informed about the risks, emergency procedures, or infection prevention measures.
I am writing this review for the Bourne End Clinic; however, the invoice I received is for Thames Valley Surgical Services Ltd. I am uncertain if Dr Kittel operates both clinics. Therefore, I will also post this review for Thames Valley Surgical Services Ltd., just in case one of the clinics has been dissolved.
