The trading conditions seems and trader are supposedly getting payouts so I gave them a try. Fairly "new" as some may say but all were new at one point. I'll be back to give my actual review after getting paid out myself

Payout Denied Based on Rule Interpretation NOT Stated in Their Own FAQ

I had a very concerning experience with The Funded Way that I believe other traders should be aware of.

I traded account 194045272 profitably and submitted a payout request. The payout was declined and the account was breached, citing a violation of their “one-sided betting” rule.

What They Claimed
In their email, they stated:
“Our review considers the complete account activity… where the majority of trades were consistently placed in one direction.”
This means they are evaluating the entire account trading history and determining “directional bias” based on that.
What Their FAQ Actually Says
Their FAQ states:
“If approximately 80% or more of your total trades are placed in the same direction on a specific instrument…”

Key points:
-Refers to ~80% threshold
-Refers to total trades on a specific instrument
-Uses wording “may be considered”, not automatic violation

Nowhere in the FAQ does it state:
-That evaluation is based on entire account lifetime history
-That “majority directional bias” alone is a violation
-That previously completed or withdrawn trading periods are included

The Core Problem
They are enforcing the rule as:
👉 “Majority of trades across the entire account = violation”
But their FAQ defines it as:
👉 “~80% of trades on a specific instrument may be considered a violation”

These are not equivalent.
This suggests the rule is being:
-Interpreted differently from what is published
-Applied with undisclosed internal logic
-Only enforced at the payout stage

Additional Concern – Timing of Payouts
Another point worth noting:
-I successfully made ~5% and received a payout
-Shortly after (within about a week), I generated further profit (another 5%) and submitted a second withdrawal
-This second payout was then declined and the account was breached

While I cannot confirm intent, the timing raises concern as:
-The same account was previously considered compliant
-No issue was raised until subsequent profitability

This creates the impression that rule enforcement may only become strict once consistent profits are achieved.

“Goodwill Reset” – Not a True Reset
After the dispute, I was offered a “goodwill reset”, on the condition that I remove my Trustpilot review.
However:
-The reset was implemented as a balance reset only (to $103,000)
-The drawdown was not fully restored, leaving only ~3% effective risk buffer
-This was not clearly explained upfront

As a result, the account did not function like a fresh account, but rather a restricted continuation with limited margin for normal market movement.

Lack of Transparency
-My trades (sample reviewed): 7 short, 3 long (70%)
-Then they claimed the calculation is based on account which including previous trading history even I had make withdrawal
-Decision marked as final without verifiable explanation

Why This Matters
Because of these issues:
-Traders cannot clearly understand how to comply
-Rules appear subjective in enforcement
-Payout decisions may feel unpredictable and inconsistent

Final Thoughts
The issue is not the existence of rules — it is:
-The gap between what is written and how it is enforced
-The lack of measurable, transparent criteria
-The retroactive and unclear evaluation method

Advice to Other Traders
Be cautious.
Even if you:
-Follow the FAQ
-Trade within what appears to be acceptable limits

You may still face payout denial based on interpretations that are not clearly disclosed.

Réponse : The Funded Way

We would like to address this case with full transparency, as accuracy is extremely important for both our traders and the wider community.

First, it is important to highlight that despite a prior rule violation on your account, we still processed your earlier payout successfully. This demonstrates clearly that we do not act against traders arbitrarily, and we have historically shown flexibility where appropriate.

Following that, your account activity was reviewed again and was found to be in violation of our one-sided betting rule, which is clearly defined in our FAQ. We maintain a strict policy of zero hidden rules all evaluation criteria are publicly available and consistently applied across all traders.

Your claim that the rule is unclear or newly interpreted is incorrect. The rule explicitly refers to the directional behavior per instrument, and our evaluations are conducted based on complete trading activity to ensure fairness and consistency. This is standard practice across risk-managed trading environments.

Regarding the reset:
• You were offered a goodwill balance reset, despite the violation
• This was clearly communicated in advance via email
• It was not a full account reset, and at no point was it presented as such

Additionally, our system operates on a smart drawdown mechanism, which is permanently locked once profits are realized. This is:
• Clearly explained in our FAQ
• Fully visible on your dashboard at all times
• Not adjustable after payouts, by design

After receiving this second opportunity, the account was again breached due to exceeding the allowed drawdown limits not due to any system error or misconfiguration.

We also note that after receiving this goodwill reset, you chose to publish another review following the breach, which suggests an expectation of repeated exceptions. While we always aim to support traders, continuous resets after rule violations would be unfair to all other participants who follow the rules strictly.

To be absolutely clear:
• No payout has ever been denied without reference to our published rules
• No hidden conditions or undisclosed logic are applied
• All decisions are backed by verifiable data and aligned with our FAQ

We have already provided you with detailed explanations via email, and this matter has been fully clarified.

We remain committed to maintaining a fair, transparent, and rule-based environment for all traders.

New in the prop industry.

This is the only prop firm where I see that the owner himself actually trades. The firm's rules reflect his deep knowledge of trading, which in my opinion is a huge advantage. I rely on honesty toward traders and proper risk management when copying successful traders.

I received a payout within the stated timeframe. Not a single question asked. I traded another $5,000 and now I'm waiting for the two-week period to end so I can make another withdrawal.

Superb and trader friendly!

It's first time experience and I can say their terms are amiable to traders and that's essential.

I've not made it to payout but I write with big hope and I'd advise traders who care about their capitals to invest.
