The Off Grid Engineer - Online Store Avis 105

This guy is a criminal! Seemed like a good guy, gave me a quote and in good faith I paid £15000 deposit. Just days later he went bankrupt and to this day I've not seen a penny back.

Off Grid Engineering Limited Porthcawl I purchased a Victron Multi plus Compact Inverter paid online by World Debit card. Have tried calling these two numbers that were on there website 08002465095/01656536800 no one answers any of these numbers tried emailing offgridengineering no answer Did a bit of digging found out names of 3 directors of this company.I won't mention there names for legal reasons but my advice is stay well away

If I could have given zero stars I would. The owner is a crook, he took the monies and never delivered the goods. Has failed to refund any of the payment I made and will hopefully one day meet Karma! Stay away from this company, he is a crook and will rip you off.

On reading another post I realised the confusion between two very similar named companies.
Off Grid Engineering.
The Off Grid Engineer.
My experience I posted was with Off Grid Engineering.
And not The Off Grid Engineer.
I apologise to The Off Grid Engineer and ask people to make sure they have the correct company.

I spent 5K with them and they have failed to send all parts, and the parts they did send are the wrong spec (cheapest and lowest values). I probably have a £1500 kit and it cost me almost £5000.
DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE - Nick McAusland was the person who ripped me off.

Do not buy! After several months I still don’t have all the kit I need and now they are ignoring my emails. I’ve had to spend loads more money after buying a £5k off grid kit for someone else to add the bits that are missing and I still haven’t got it working. There wasn’t even a wiring diagram so you know what is missing!! Literally the worst experience of my life and has been so very stressful!! So I’m currently £6k down and no off grid power still as yet! So don’t even know if the stuff actually works because it’s not yet set up! Honestly do not take the chance trust me you will regret it!! I know it seems like a bargain when looking on the website but it’ll cost you more long term

Ordered from the Black Friday sale. Communication was very poor. Despite the website claiming the kit was in stock with delivery in 5 days after 3 months and 25 emails we have still not received all the items. I have wasted 4 days due to waiting for promised delveries that failed to materialise. Further emails receive an auto reply stating the company has ceased trading yet the website is still open. This company do not stock items, they take your money then order from companies to have items delivered to you. I can not recommend this company.

0 stars if I could! My husband ordered a 5K battery kit from Nick which never arrived. Emailed and had a response that it would be delivered 6th feb 23 and tracking would be provided, nothing arrived and no tracking given. Emailed a few times more with no response requesting a refund. Last email was automatic stating company no longer trading and they will not be issuing refunds. Nick is obviously conducting a fraudulent business from reading the other previous reviews where it looks like he has been accepting thousands of pounds from people when he clearly knew there was no product to be sold, protecting himself behind a ‘virtual’ office address. We have opened a dispute with paypal and hope to have our money back. His company remains active on companies house which is ridiculous as his email says he is not even trading anymore. Never ever purchase from this person, he should be made an example of, in my opinion he has knowingly stolen money from individuals so should be found and charged in court! People like this make the world a horrible place to be live in and cause undue mental stress on people and it’s just not on.

Ordered in good faith from past good experience. Don't know what's gone wrong but no response from the off grid engineer and no order after nearly months. Had to open a.case with PayPal
Real shame

Ordered a solar setup and battery nearly one month ago at £2,500.

Have had 0 communication on the order apart from confirmation, despite numerous emails. I have had to open a dispute my bank to get the money back.

One can only assume there has been a major issue recently, due to the amount of recent negative feedback. It just comes at a very bad time, as need to finalise my build but I have to find an alternative supplier.

It’s a real shame.

Never trust this company, Nick just is not a responsible business operator.

I ordered 10 panels on 4th January, showing "Available" on their website.I emails Nick specifically ask him "Do you have this Panels available in Stock?" and he replied YES. But once I placed the order and they got the Money, they told sorry it is out of stock until 11th January. Then he told 24th January.

And then no reply. And I have report this to Paypal and dispute is in progress.

Ordered £10k worth of energy storage kit on the 9th Jan, received a despatch confirmation on the 17th and was told delivery would be on the 18th. Nothing arrived, on the 21st I emailed to see where my order was and on the 23rd I was told that there was a delay with part of my order but the rest would be sent out. On the 31st after a number more chasing emails and phone messages I was informed that there was a problem supplying all of my order. I asked for a refund and have not had any replies to my repeated calls or emails since.

Have opened a case with Visa disputes and Amazon Pay. Do not trust with your money.

I'm starting to think that the 5 star reviews on here must be paid for...

Ordered before Christmas for January delivery, which didn't arrive. Nick replied quickly initially to rearrange but when that delivery date was missed he's gone completely silent after multiple emails.

So now it's going to have be in the hands of the credit card company to get me a refund because it seems that once something goes wrong this company just can't handle it and decides that ignoring issues is the way to deal with them. Happy for all those who claim their experience was great but it seems to be somewhat hit and miss!

Shame cos they're fairly local and I'd have preferred my 5 grand to go to an independent local company...

Appalling. Ordered almost £250 of kit. 24hrs later not heard anything re delivery. Vx mail left. Email sent. Reply...not in stock & would take 2-3 weeks to order & get delivered!! Had I not checked I wonder how long they would have kept my &?!!

Should not have taken my £ If it wasn't in stock.

It's still not in stock, and still being sold on their website.

Kit was told it would arrive jan2 after speaking about the importance of it arriving on time It did not, so I called they apologised and said was an issue with stock ( I think it was not even processed)
Anyway on calling they offered a discount and said would be here for 20th jan so I returned early from
Holiday to receive it and guess what still not here now I’m
Awaiting a refund for 10
Days while My Money sits in their account gaining interest
Why is it so difficult to process something and get it when expected

We had excellent customer service from The Off Grid Engineer. After initially receiving the incorrect panels for our solar setup (we get it mistakes happen) they were quick to respond and engage over the busy Christmas period.

They provided us with great technical advice and supported us to explore our different options in the end we decided to keep the panels and went for a new controller.

This is exactly what I want from a business - responsive and understanding.

Very helpful and friendly. All my questions were answered before I ordered. I made a mistake with the order but it was easily rectified. Would definitely recommend. The goods arrived early which was a bonus.

Was slightly apprehensive, based upon some of the reviews, and the value of the order, but needn't have been - Nick came through!
Delivery took a few days longer than projected (no doubt due to Black Friday) and one item wasn't the exact model ordered, but Nick was very quick to resolve.
Overall, very pleased and would definitely recommend.

Exclent products at a reasonable price. Prompt confirmation of the order. Delivery was slightly delayed, but arrived on the agreed date. Prompt response to my email. Positive response to advice on improvements to services. Excellent company to buy from.

Brillaint company to order from..prices are fantastic delivered slightly later than expected but communication from Nick was spot on..
