Good concept, but concerns get deflected
My main concern with this site is profile quality, and how that concern was handled.
There are long-dormant profiles listed, including people I know to be married. I reported specific ones directly to support, and they stayed up. The response was that they don’t track who is married and it’s the members’ own responsibility to close their accounts, while also describing not doing so as an act of infidelity.
So I suggested something that requires no accusations and no investigating anyone: show a “last active” date on profiles, and prompt accounts dormant for years to check in or be deactivated, with plenty of warning first. That wasn’t taken up either. I was eventually told that any allegation against a member would need two or three witnesses, which doesn’t answer a request for basic account maintenance. I was also told that some of these long-inactive accounts are subscribers.
Other things I raised at the same time: people can comment on your photos, but you can’t read those comments without paying, which seems to be exactly why the site is full of duplicate profiles —> a second account is the free workaround. And I asked for a privacy setting to limit who can see and contact me by age range, which many platforms already offer. That got no response at all.
I wanted this platform to work. My issue isn’t that everything was fixed at once, it’s that reasonable, low-cost suggestions from a paying member were deflected rather than considered.
