There truly aren't enough words to describe how much the Iboga retreat at Amayama has changed my life. After years of various therapies and significant resources spent trying to resolve longstanding issues, I was on the verge of giving up hope - until I found this incredible group of people.

Axis, Chiara, Sylvie, and Vicente are masters of their craft. They are highly skilled practitioners who facilitate the Iboga medicine with immense pride and sacred integrity. They treated me with the profound care and dignity usually reserved for family. From the preparation to the integration, I felt completely held and supported the entire time.

The house and the beautiful garden are a healing sanctuary in every sense. A quiet oasis, creating a peaceful and nurturing environment that made it possible for me to fully surrender to the medicine. Everything about the week was spectacular - even the food was handled with so much love that it felt like medicine in itself.

I also want to extend a huge thank you to Eve, Guido, and Jordi who supported my process as well. Their presence was a steady anchor of compassion, and I felt their genuine care in every interaction. They are truly beautiful souls.

If you are serious about the deep healing that Iboga offers and want to do it in a safe place that feels like a 'system reboot' for the soul, look no further. I will be forever grateful for the week I spent here.

Really amazing environment with even more amazing people. Was a little hesitant and nervous for my first time experiencing this type of work but the family here at Amayama could not have been more accommodating and helpful , finding the perfect balance between being there in support and letting you have your own experience. Also some of the best food I have ever tasted was a big plus. If you feel the calling there is no better place to go.

From the moment we arrived, we immediately felt warmly welcomed and lovingly cared for. The house is surrounded by beautifully cared nature, different animals and vibrant life energy. It’s impossible not to feel uplifted and at peace there. Every moment was filled with love, kindness, positivity and a deep sense of connection. The whole place and experience is impressive: the old trees in the gardens and the stories of where they came from; the ambiance the garden provides and it being great place to connect with nature after or before a ceremony; the practical tips given prior to ceremonies; the authentic people in Axis, Chiara and team who are determined to give each a very personal and supportive experience. I feel I had a lot of luck and fortune in finding this place.

A month after returning from Amayama, I look back and it all feels like a dream.

You will experience a series of carefully curated ceremonies, no two the same, with a mix of live and recorded music, dance, song and other traditional rituals and a ton of support to help you before, during and after.
All the ceremonies combine into an overall healing experience and each one plays their part. The facilitators of the ceremony are perfectly tuned into your emotions to curate the perfect experience.
I came here to reconnect with my feelings and be more present. The medicine did the trick and I received many more insights and appreciations.
The web site describes "a sanctuary of healing" which is a very accurate description, and would be a great place to heal even without any medicine. The environment is perfect and Axis, Chiara, Eve, Vicente and Sylvie are all beautiful humans.
The food is amazing, the house, the garden, the surroundings, the warmth. They are all so key to the experience.
I will come again without a hesitation and I have made deep connections for life.

I went in the beginning of December 2025 to the Iboga and Yobo retreat.

My time at Amayama has led to profound change. This was my first time working with the medicines. I found the ceremonies very difficult and I was not certain at the time that much good had come out of them. Most of my fellow companions reported good experiences during the ceremonies but this was not the case for me. I am very grateful to Axis, Chiara, Silvi and Vicente for the amazing support they gave me while I was with them and after I returned home. It took time to notice the changes. However, I am writing this review two and a half months after the ceremonies and I can happily and gratefully state that there are changes and they seem to be permanent.

I am much more confident. I have tried through therapy, exposure experiences and acting classes over decades to help myself with my fear of public speaking. These all helped a lot to the point where I can speak in public but I always need to push myself through the fear. After the ceremonies I had an opportunity to speak in public and was very pleased to see that I only had a tiny buzz of anxiety that only lasted a few seconds! I now look forward with excitement to future public speaking events.

I have also tried for decades to work on my posture and as I am getting older I experience more back pain because of it. Over the years I have done physiotherapy with exercises, work on retained primitive reflexes (which was the most effective but only helped a little), Alexander Technique and various somatic psychotherapies. However, after one weekend at Amayama my upper middle back is completely normal. My shoulders rest in a downward and backward position as they should with no effort on my part! I look forward to future ceremonies as hopefully they will do the same to my neck and lower back. I was also suffering from a frozen shoulder for months before the ceremonies and there was a very marked improvement soon after I left to the point where I had near normal range in movement.

As I am aging my skin in aging. My love of being outdoors has not helped my skin. I noticed within a couple weeks after the ceremonies that the skin on my forearms looks younger and more hydrated. My eyesight has also improved slightly, not so much that I don’t need glasses but a little which is lovely. I’ll take it! In addition, I noticed that breathing feels freer. I have not had difficulties with breathing and tend to breathe from my belly however after the ceremonies it just felt much freer.

I have noticed other emotional/psychological changes. I get less stressed by work. I am quite efficient and I have not done anything new with regard to this, but I am significantly more efficient! When things go wrong, I still have an emotional reaction to it but it lasts for a very short time and then I move on to a solution much faster.

One weekend working with the medicine is not going to cure every physical, emotional and mental issue I have. However, I was very surprised by how much did change for me and as difficult as the ceremonies were for me spiritually, physically, emotionally and mentally, I look forward to future ceremonies with the experienced and caring support of Axis, Chiara, Vicente and Silvi.

So I've been curious about Ayahuasca for some time now. Three weeks ago, I came across Amayama. At first, I was a bit hesitant, but after reading the reviews, I decided to book the retreat. And how glad am I that I did! The whole experience was absolutely amazing. Axis and Chiara are the most friendly and lovable people. They took the time to really listen to my story and answer any questions or doubts I had. The ceremonies themselves were done very professionally in a specially designed and crafted environment. They made sure everybody felt safe and secure. After the ceremonies, they were always available for integration and any questions we had.

Besides that, the retreat is in a house surrounded by a beautiful, serene garden where you can truly relax and let go. The food is homemade, and let me tell you, it is absolutely delicious. They even made sure to accommodate me with my gluten intolerance.

If you are on a spiritual path or considering the plant medicine, this is the perfect place to go. I feel like I made lifelong friends and am truly grateful to them for their generosity, love, and care they have put into this experience. I myself will make sure to return at some point. Axis, Chiara, and the rest of the Amayama team, thank you!

This was my second experience with Axis and Chiara, but first time at Amayama. I'm being honest when I say that it exceeded anything and everything I could have hoped for. They took the time to understand what I was looking for and were supportive in really exceptional ways. They listened to everything I had to say and created an environment where I felt completely safe, surrounded with good food and conversations.

The place itself was beautiful and I left feeling like a completely different person, with new practical tools and perspectives that have made me feel more capable and confident as I navigate back into a better life.

If you're considering plant medicine or any of their ceremonies, I can't recommend Axis and Chiara enough. I can definitely imagine myself returning to repeat the experience again.

Attending this Ayahuasca retreat was he most profound and healing experience of my life. It wasn't my first retreat, but was definitely the most rewarding, thanks to Axis and Chiara.
The facilitators supported me on a level that I had never experienced before. Their wisdom and compassion created a space where I felt completely safe and supported.
Since returning home, I still experience the benefits, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Everyone around me notices the change, I'm lighter, more centred, and more open-hearted.
On top of the medicine, I had an osteopath session with Axis which healed a skin condition that I’ve had for 7 years, that really is a miracle.
If you feel called to Ayahuasca, I 100% recommend this retreat, it's a truly special place and the facilitators are amazing at what they do.

This is a lovely house. Set behind a high wall in established gardens with ancient olive trees and a pond with frogs. It's gorgeous, private, quiet, large with space to be private but also outdoor space to be in groups. The pool looks great but as I went in late spring so it was not in use.

The house is spacious, nicely decorated. I wanted a room of my own so had a very comfortable space with a good bed, peace and privacy. There were 2 big dining spaces for everone to gather and we did! To chat gather and eat. The food was lovely, freshly cooked, varied, always available.

The retreat was do beautifully curated. Axis and Chiara are beautiful people, kind, witty, creative, calm and receptive. This was my second retreat with the same facilitators because it was such a calm, open, experience in which I was accompanied by the guides on my own journey without interference but with loving kindness.

My experience was amazing. Life changing in subtle warm gentle ways that are hard to pinpoint but real and tangible to me. The plant medicine is managed beautifully and curated to one's own needs and desires. Care and consideration is taken and guidance if desired offered in conversation and together.

The group of 10 was amazing. People from across the globe across the ages and from differing backgrounds, heritages, religions and politics and we came together over 5 days to be a collection of people on the same path but on our own journey. Together, alongside each other. We had fun and talked late into the night. There was even dancing.

I can not recommend highly enough the people and the place!

At Casa Tierra Florida I was beautifully held through a deep personal transformation. The house is situated in a wonderful valley of orange blossoms and water springs.
Around it an astonishing garden provides shelter and shade even in the hottest summer, with a pool for a refreshing dive!
Food is offered with love, often in the traditional cuisine of the region.
The team takes to heart the work carried in the retreat and walks the inner personal transformation through and towards real, tangible change in the everyday life.

I had a very powerful retreat experience at Casa Tierra near Valencia Spain. The location is peaceful and the house / gardens are really lovely. The whole retreat was held with a great feeling of safety and support, and the facilitators were an important part of the experience. I am looking forward to go back at some point in the not too distant future - thank you to Ciara, Axis, Robert and Bianca.

So with some trepidation I decided to do the healing retreat in Valencia. Words can't fully describe the joy I experienced/released. There was lots of laughter, lots of tears, lots of introspection. I am a holistic practitioner myself and have worked with energy previously. However this was a whole another level, opening up the channels to past, present and future, allowing me to really understand cause and effect. None of this would have been possible without Axis, Chiara and Robert who as the facilitators are simply beautiful souls who through compassion and understanding where able to create the space to let the healing flow.

I for sure will be back. I strongly recommend this retreat for anyone who may have suppressed emotions as the plant medicine will bring them to the surface and then release them.
