Timberline Tax Group Avis 

Our non-profit organization has been working with Timberline for a few years now in an attempt to resolve a large debt with penalties and interest tacked on. We originally started with another agency and was not pleased with them. It took a lot of work but in the end, it was well worth it. Our debt was close to a half a million dollars. Timberline got us an Offer and Compromise agreement down just under $20,000. Couldn't be more satisfied. I highly suggest using them.
I understand the outcome may be different depending on each circumstance. It also makes a world of difference which IRS agent you get assigned when attempting an OIC. Adam seemed pretty knowledgeable about the various agents and stayed on them to get us the best deal possible. It can get costly but when you owe as much as we did, it becomes an investment. Unfortunately, not all investments result in a win and to be honest I was almost ready to give up. Thankfully our investment turned out for the best.

Timberline worked with me for a very long time. I understand the IRS is slow. We lost our request to get the taxes/penalties for late filings reduced, then they suggested that I appeal. I paid them additional thousands of dollars. We lost. It took literally years. I would say if you have assets, you will not get a reduction on penalties or taxes due...so don't bother spending thousands of dollars on contesting it. Very disappointed that I spend $6,000 on top of a horrendous tax penalty.

I dealt with Galen at Timberline and I can give a more effusive praise. He was personable, sympathetic, but most of all they were very very effective in fighting the IRS and helping us to reach an awesome and very very favorable and agreeable terms.
