Customer Service forgotten!!

My mother sent me into the limerick branch to dropback a top that did not fit.
It was 2 days out of the return date on the receipt. She had rung them earlier in the week as she was not able to get over to drop back earlier shes 85! and was told she would not get a refund but a credit note, fine..
Upon taking it to the counter and dealing with a girl at the till the cashier beside butted in quite aggressively and said it was out of date and that's it. I was not even dealing with her. I explained what my mother was told and the German sounding woman stalked off to get a manager. A short blond older women rocked up, obviously eager to show her claws she said repeatedly that she was the manager I explained the case and she said its not on the system any more. I pointed out it was still tagged and all of 22.99 but to no avail even when I told her as a family we spend a fortune in there I have teenage girls!!
Still all i was met with was I'm the manager and not a budge, I'll talk to my team and correct them as your mother should not of been given that information.
I said how poorly I felt I was being treated and that that was the end of being a long standing customer I was told fine and good luck..
Over something so small it was shocking treatment I was approached outside by another customer who was at the counter and they expressed there disgust at what they'd witnessed. My daughters where upset as they were seeing from a distance what was going on one of them heard the teller approach the manager and describe me as a pain!! Not good at all....

I was made feel lesser for wanting to buy item at bargain price

I sometimes buy jewellery and some small knickknacks at TK Max in Dublin. Usually the staff is helpful and understanding, even if they are inexperienced in some cases. Or at the very least politely apathetic enough so that there is no discomfort when conversing.

This time the guy who was manning the jewelery counter acted like a crook from my point of view. I guess I should have called a manager to be our in-between as the guy was acting extremely untrustworthy from my point of view.

I could excuse suspicious hovering over us as we were discussing whether to buy the earrings. That is just something every salesperson does when he or she considers customers a bit sus or ones likely to spend money, I guess.

I wanted to definitely buy a discounted pair of earrings. They had a yellow price tag, which is a supposed to mean it was a final sale. They looked pretty cheap, like they were made from wire, but nicely designed and also they looked like they used to belong to the set of eight cheap-ish earrings in a nice box. At least that is the only explanation I have for having three sets of equidistant holes in the box in which the earrings were being sold. I have never seen such "design idea" for the box otherwise. Granted the holes that held the last earring pair were a bit different but they were still visually on the same line and at an equal distance from the other holes.

I guess I have shown too much interest in the earrings, because as I tried to buy them, the guy suddenly tells me that I can only buy them for a full price which is three times the discount price. Because supposedly it was marked down as there was only one of the earrings left, not two. I guess it then "magically" reappeared.

Should it have even mattered? In my understanding, this set previously has a red price. Then yellow label was put on top. Whoch means it got discounted twice. But I was offered to pay only a full price.

In my understanding yellow label is just a final price for an object nobody bought for a very long time. Usually the not fully completed objects have red label.

This was a final price issued by the shop.

The jewellery salesman also tried to gaslight me into believing that equidistant holes were a design choice of the box maker. And that this was always a box with one earrings set. Even trough the insides of the boxes with one earring set are usually shaped differently.

As this logic seemed pretty dubious to me, I decided to forgo not only this purchase which I was certain of pursuing, but also all other both less and more expensive earrings I was more doubtful about, as this guy had put me off buying anything from him ever. Next time I see him at the counter I am leaving the shop for good. I could not stop feeling he was trying to make me stop thinking logically and buy thing at triple value due to fear of loss, which is a common technique for both salesmen and crooks.

Even if it was an honest mistake by the shop, during the course of the conversation I was made to feel like it was my fault this situation happened, and I felt extremely uncomfortable throughout, like I was at fault for not wantimg to overpay for an obviously discounted and not fully intact product.

This made me apprehensive about any further purchases at the venue. As now I will have to think whether something I want to buy might suddenly get a massive price jump due to mispricing by someone else and I will be put on spot for wanting to buy a discounted item at the actual discounted price. After all this stress I am more likely to just look at products at TK Maxx instead of buying them for a while if not for good...

This was the only time where I felt that a possible mispricing of a product by the shop was presented as my fault. And where I was made to feel lesser for wanting to buy something nobody else was interested in for a decent price.

I might be mistaken but after I left it seemed like the jewellery counter guy (his name fled my consciousness due to the stress he put me in) just put things I wanted to buy back among other earrings on display. I hope I was mistaken and that he at least was a actually trying to do the thing he considered right and really tried to get the earrings actually re-evaluated. (Or did he want to buy them himself after work?)

If nobody buys them by the time I get there again I might see if he actually got these earrings re-evaluated or if I just seemed like an easy mark for an unfair price hike because I obviously liked the product...

Or maybe I seemed as an easier victim because my first language isn't English, and I was discussing purchases with my shopping trip companion...

Overall, this was an unnecessarily harrowing experience for a few euro that earned a whole lot of distrust in me towards Dublin TK Maxx staff and products and their pricing practices from this day on...

Bad experience …

I shop at the TK Maxx in Galway almost on a weekly basis. Normally it’s a very pleasant experience and I always buy. Today was a little different. I had an item to return and had my receipt and everything should’ve been fine, but the assistant decided to check out everything. She was very inexperienced and I was made to feel very uncomfortable, although I had everything exactly as should be. After going away and coming back she then proceeded to say she would refund my ATM card, although I had used a TK Maxx gift card to buy the item. She wasn’t aware that this is the card that should’ve been refunded until the manager Came along. The manager was very nice and understanding, but the other lady had Really annoyed me and I left very unhappy. There was no apology from her either. I would be calling that branch in the morning to let them know exactly how I feel and what happened.
And I realise why there are bad reviews about TK Maxx and it’s just a handful of staff With no experience and no manners.
Very disappointed, long time customer.

Selling faulty items for full price

They ask you to pay full price of the product even if the item has been damaged or has a stain on it. Everything is already expensive enough and they cant even do reduced item for a stain that wont come off. Unless this is how tk maxx is known by so they sell faulty items of all brands ? As all other retail shops does reduced item if there is anything wrong with the item. The manager Carol in douglas was not helpfull at all not a good customer service for what we pay...

Waiting 2 months for a VAT receipt

Ref: CS10594512 & CS10872890

I have been waiting almost 2 months for a VAT receipt, I submitted all the required information on 08/07/24.

I have called TKMaxx 4 times in the last month and emailed enquiring about the status of my request. Each time I have called I have been assured that it is being processed and that someone will contact me.

Noone has contacted me anytime after I called your customer service helpline, and now I have been told that my request has been resubmitted and it can take up to another 28 days for it to be processed.

I am beyond frustrated at this point, to me it's a simple task that shouldn't take longer than 30 minutes to do so I don't understand how it hasn't been done in the last 2 months?

Appalling customer treatment by a…

Appalling customer treatment by a cashier in Blanchardstown TKMaxx 08/11/23.The cashier could not remember taking my payment or providing me with a receipt.
She asked me to hand her my bag of goods She went through the bag then asked for my receipt.I showed her the receipt.
I was embarrassed and uncomfortable on front of another customers. She said she couldn't remember giving me my receipt.

Apparently they think 1 GBP = 1.5 Euro? Item marked as 30 pounds in amongst everything prices in Euros. Checkout girl take out her chart and declares 30 GBP is 45 Euro ... 'That's what the chart says'.

The Cashier in the store deceived me: when I asked :"May I have the receipt, please?" He said: I put it in the bag. I did not see any of his movement in support of his words but he insisted. I did not get into the bag to find it as I believed that might be wrong manners.
When I searched at home - there was no receipt. Today I am going to the shop and I am not sure if I can prove the absence of a receipt. And the cashier, probably, will lie looking at my eyes.
The problem is that the situation became so annoying: everyone lies with no shame, without thinking about the future possibility of being deceived if liers will not be punished - it is bizarre. TKMaxx already a mess-market with no adequate prices and no good service. So, where are we going? Back to dark ages? STOP LYING!

Bought several items ( my second on…

Bought several items ( my second on line order) including T shirts and bedding, items were delivered within the 5 working date schedule were well packaged and in excellent condition ..prices were very good and I would happily use TK Maxx again..

Not a good place anymore

People want to spend time here (tkmaxx cork) but if you stay more than 60 seconds the security guy starts aggressively stalking you up to the fitting room doors. Even tho you make genuine purchases you will feel like a prime suspect. Ridiculous. This shop was our favourite but it is now definitely off the list. Things were so different years ago, you could come here and have a good experience, spend time and money. Not anymore.

Today I visited this store

Today I visited this store. Never again. I was told that I could not bring their little shopping trolley into the fitting cubicle because of safety issues. So I struggled with the garments and hangers and almost tripped up over the clothes that I was carrying. This is the health and safety issue expecting people to struggle with piles of clothes . The staff were rude and dismissive. Zero customer service. GOODBYE TKMAXX CORK CITY.
