Great for Appraisals
It has been a great resource for us in tracking appraisals for our talent. Makes the process of talking about goals and overall success really easy. Having the appraisals all in the same location along with trend reporting has been really helpful for our management team.

Employee Data Upload
We had to add a large number of employees to our TrakStar database as a result of a merger. I submitted a data file, and it was uploaded in a timely and efficient manner.
Has Client's interest at heart
Trakstar is an AMAZING company. They customize your appraisals to your company's needs and culture. You are NEVER pigeon-holed into a process that you HAVE TO MAKE WORK because that's just the way the program is set up. Instead...they set the program up that works BEST for YOUR needs. How many software companies do that?????
Transitioning our organization from an Excel-based, manual system to Trakstar was a great decision that has produced great results.
Trakstar allows us to get much more detailed feedback, greater consistency across the organization, and a standardized schedule for appraisals. We've tested and used other systems costing significantly more per employee that produced no better results.
Pros:
Excellent process automation, customizable reminder emails, ability to clearly define scores, outstanding and fast-responding customer service.
Cons:
Multiple ways to accomplish certain tasks can be confusing (e.g. goals), sometimes slow page loading times, slightly unrefined UI
Trakstar Support and Flexibility
As a result of a recent merger, we decided to expand our use of Trakstar so that it was the sole appraisal system across all business units (1200+ people). To achieve that goal, we needed to develop our existing knowledge of Trakstar and most importantly, extend how our people were going to use it, to help support & improve overall performance.
To achieve our goals, we sought guidance and assistance from the Trakstar team and at all times, we found them to be supportive, understanding and very friendly. Emails and phone calls were responded to promptly and even with a difference in time zones (we are in New Zealand) we managed to achieve our objectives on time and on budget.
The end result means we now have a flexible, nationwide system in place that works to support our business. Our people are using the system to record and measure regular feedback conversations, take notes and observations and track their ongoing progress towards individual goals and measurements. All going to plan, the annual appraisal summary conversations at the end of our reporting year, will be productive and valuable activities for our managers and employees alike. (it was previously something many people dreaded!!)
Our recommendation is if you are looking for a staff appraisal system, talk to the people at Trakstar.
Our experience is - they won't let you down.
Trakstar Appraisal System
Whilst our company is still establishing how best to use this tool, Trakstar is a user-friendly tool to enable (and compliment) the all-important performance management conversations as they occur. I am pretty confident that this will become a very valuable part of our system for all staff.

Great Tool
Implementation was seamless and the tool has been user friendly.
A needed tool for any company
We have been using Trakstar about 1 year. It took awhile to get set up to the specifics of my company but the support was excellent and it went well. What it does more than anything is add structure and procedure to something which is tough to do. Once you do your first review using Trakstar you start to see the benefit of self appraisals, Multi-rating, etc. Trakstar reminds you when reviews are coming up and what you need to do next.
We use Trakstar for New Hire reviews (90 days after hiring), Bonus reviews, annual reviews and disciplinary reviews.
