Harris - TravelScoot NZ

I wish to give Harris from TravelScoot in NZ a BIG plug for his amazing customer service. I live in Sydney, my Dad lives in Cairns, but the issue being that my Dad was holiday'ing in Fiji at the time his mobility scooter battery died; and unfortunately his battery charger was damaged in flight so he had no means of charging his scooter. He was distressed as without it he has no mobility. He called me in distress, and I in turn calledTravelScoot in Sydney distressed. My call ended up being diverted to NZ due to a shortage of staff over the xmas period. Harris was my first point of call. I just want to say a BIG thank you to you Harris for your professionalism, and for showing care and empathy to my Dad's situation and offering solutions in a urgent timeframe. You were a forward thinker in organising a delivery of x2 batteries (x1 from Sydney and x1 from NZ) to ensure an on-time delivery. You also sealed a sale for the second delivery as my Dad is now purchasing a back up battery charge (upon your good advice) to ensure this doesn't happen again.

I'm so glad you took my call that day. Thank you for seeing it to the end, and allowing my Dad to enjoy the remaining days of his holiday.

I can't thank you enough,
I would recommend you and the company to anyone and everyone in need.

Great Scoot & great support

I purchased my travelscoot whilst on a cruise - Travelscoot UK had it waiting and ready for me on my arrival back to the UK we had fabulous communications and very helpful advice from Paul and Robert. Each time I’ve contacted them, they are quick to respond and quick to send whatever parts I have needed. Today I took my Scoot for a service, all completed in an hour and very reasonable costs. I can’t believe how much this little lightweight but sturdy scoot has improved my life - so grateful that we found it and so glad we have TravelScoot UK to support us!

I purchased a travelscoot escape on the…

I purchased a travelscoot escape on the internet at a lot lower price than a new one . I would never pay the full price , the quality is not good ,and the front basket for the price and quality is appalling. No instruction from travelscoot UK . Who I find very uninformative . Dissatisfied with the scooter , No for the price I paid .
I have a Honda Jazz , and the scooter fits in the boot as a whole , with no dissembling,
Rating 4 star .

I have had my travelscoot since 2012. What you need know

I have had my travelscoot since 2012, I loved the scooter and all was fine for awhile. Then they changed to the L ion batteries at a cost of $600, it didn't even last a year. They didn't stand by the batteries. They gave me instructions to try to make the next on I bought last longer. I also bought the kit to put connect an extra seat for a blind man. I have followed all the instructions on caring for the battery and still dead before a year was out. This is not a case of excessive use or abuse, I used the scooter on vacations 3-4 times a year for two weeks at a time. Found out batteries can be recharged in other countries, but no one does it in the US. I now have three dead batteries sitting on a shelf and the scooter sits in the bag, useless. I understand the company wants to have residual income, but it shouldn't be at the expense of handicapped consumers. While it is a nice scooter, don't buy if you can't afford to spend almost $800/yr. for a new battery, or $1600 if you need a spare. Car batteries can be had for $100 and run for 5 years. If people knew they would not buy from this company. I have let travelscoot know and was told to buy a new battery. I already have a collection of dead batteries, I don't need another.

I was originally buying a new Deluxe…

I was originally buying a new Deluxe but they were awaiting stock (mid 21) and as many such items it got held up. I was able to buy a second hand one and it has been excellent. Travelscoot we’re new in UK and supplied extras I wanted without any problems.

I had hoped to visit Travelscoot in Munich it’s headquarters this autumn and the owner/designer had offered to meet me. Sadly this didn’t happen. However as a member of the various Facebook Travelscoot Groups I know that Paul in UK Travelscoot found by myTravelscoot on the web has helped several members with parts etc

As the designer himself contributes to the groups I have not heard of another who does.

I plan when my finances improve to buy a new model the Escape but that had been my plan last autumn.

Try it this is an extremely light and fantastic way to get your freedom back.

I totally agree with the last post about TravelScoot Watford.
Travelscoot Watford offered to tweak my speed after sending them my control box. I was told a £30 fee for this. I then was told after sending it that my control box could not be re-programmed. I was told if I ordered a new control box at £120 that could be re-primed and when I was contacted to say they had the new control box in. I was asked for a further £30. I was going to purchase a new Travelscoot in January 2021 and was told if I buy a new scoot I could have it re- proved free.
I ordered the new control box & a spare battery charger on Monday 13/12/21 and I tel Watford today Wed 15 2021, to be told it will be posted today and hopefully deliverd Friday as they were waiting for the battery charger to be deliverd to them. It only arrived to them today. I was told on Monday 13 December they had them in stock. I’ve found the company’s that sell disability scooters simply don’t understand how much a disabled person rely on their equipment especially scooters. They are first to put prices up and I still can’t understand why they items cost the earth to produce. We are I’m sure looked upon a a good pickup, a cash cow and a great money maker. I just wish they would get their act together and try to understand that we rely on their products to function. So I’m back looking for a reliable mobility scooter supplier who at least understands the needs of disabled people and not to look at them along side their bank balance.

TravelScoot Shop Munich Poor Customer Service

On the 5/06/20 I made a major purchase, £475, from this company, being a goods/passenger trailer for my mobility scooter, when the parcel of the components arrived the contents were not factory fresh, it was a randomly loosly packed box of components that had been reboxed, I suspect from display or demonstration. Two of the items, due to the poor packing were damaged in transit. I emailed the company on the day the parcel arrived along with photographs of the two damaged items, the broken part of the goods carrier was replaced, having had to return the item first at their request and expence, they sent the replacement part. The other useabe but damaged item was the seat. Due to my disability, my need for the passenger option was urgent, I have requested a replacent seat by email time and time again over the past weeks to no avail. They will only deal with it if I first reurn the damaged seat (at their expence) I have explained the reason, my disability, I need this item, it cannot be used without the seat. It has been stated by them that they may wish to refurbish the seat, an outcome that I object to, they have also offered what they describe as a "Small Light Kit" in compensation for the damage, I have rejected this.
This is all of their own making, it is very poor customer service, given the will this could easily been sorted out rightaway. I have a record of all the emails, on occasions my emails have been ignored. (Ref. number 26516)
