True Culture Travel Avis 

This tour was a life-changing one for me! It was such an amazing cultural immersion! The Ghanian Naming Ceremony & the My early Surprise Birthday celebration & cake on our last night at Club So Ho in Accra was my favorite! It was so thoughtful of Mani (co-owner). I loved that we had accomodations in each area we visited Accra/Kumasi/Cape Coast & got to get a "feel" for the different areas of Ghana. The food was amazing and the True Culture Staff were so helpful/flexible and accommodating. This was definitely an adventure worth the price for the accomodations /transportation activities/some food snacks/water and all the places we visited! Markets/ Museums/a Farm/a School/Bonwire Kente Village/Cape Coast Castle/Cape Coast University/Independence Square/Kwame Nkrumah Museum/Kakum Canopy walk and much more! We got to meet 2 Chiefs from Kumasi. The Ghanian people were very welcoming and kind!

Only suggestions for improvements are:
1. Scout a new hotel in Kumasi to ensure of all accomodations are up to the same standard
2. Larger/more comfortable bus to accommodate larger tour groups/long road trips
3. Pre-arranged Bathroom Stops at (hotels/restaurants) if possible at regular intervals (1x/per hr
4. 15-30 Minute time cushions before/after activities for incidentals etc...

Overall this was Extraordinary Experience and I have been and will continue to recommend TRUE Culture to everyone who wants to travel to Ghana!🇬🇭

I plan to use them again to explore other African Countries.

Medaase True Culture!✊🏽

I began this True Culture Travel Ghana tour with anticipation. I ended it with memories to last a lifetime. In the emails building up to our arrival, the organizers promised a “homecoming,” an experience like no other. And they were TRUE in word and deed, beginning with the enthusiastic “Akwaaba” when I arrived at 5:30a.m. at Katoka International Airport after travelling for 12 hours. The welcoming party of co- owners, Mani and Brian and 3 other members of the True Culture Travel team warmed my heart, making me feel special.

You could say that this tour was carefully curated to engage our hearts and minds and souls. It was a journey outward into Ghana, with its vibrancy and delightful surprises… like the bustling open air Makola Market, the breathtaking Kakum Forest Canopy Walk, delicious food (including daily fresh juices: pineapple-and-ginger, watermelon, coconut water), the soulful music in our van as we travelled throughout the country, and of course, shopping for unique handmade gifts for family and friends back home.

Most significant, however, was the inner journey we all took: developing friendships with our fellow travellers, so recently strangers; absorbing Ghanaian culture and history through occasional lectures by Jeorge Asare-Djan, author and co-director of The Black Secret Educational Project; visiting several noted museums; reflecting on Ghana’s visionary first President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah’s Pan-African dream at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park & Mausoleum; participating in Panafest 2025 events; and together, walking the path of our ancestors in so many ways.

It’s impossible to relate how meaningful this trip was. We were like the Sankofa bird, looking back with joy and reverence in order to reflect on our lives with new eyes and try to understand our purpose on this Earth.

This was my third trip to the continent. The first two were fabulous: to East Africa decades ago, to North Africa more recently. But this trip to the West, to the land of my forefathers
and foremothers was sublime, while also being a lot of fun!

My experience on the PANAFEST Tour to Ghana was truly unforgettable — more than a holiday, it felt like a homecoming. Every day brought something unique: from exploring the bustling streets and historic landmarks of Accra, to the deep cultural immersion in Kumasi, and the solemn yet powerful moments at Cape Coast and Elmina Castles.
The itinerary was well balanced, blending history, heritage, and celebration and the warm sense of community was very heartwarming. One of my highlights included the canopy walk in Kakum National Park, the moving “Reverential Night” at Cape Coast, and the symbolic naming ceremony at Assin Manso. I now have a Ghanian name and attribute that I am proud of.
PANAFEST itself was incredible: the music, and performances created a great atmosphere of joy, unity, and reflection. It was a privilege to share in this celebration of African resilience and heritage with people from around the world – we are truly family.
The tour organisers (Mani, Brian, Jeorge and the rest of the team) made everything meaningful. Two out of three accommodation was comfortable. The tasty meals to knowledgeable guides, enriched each visit with insight and context.
This journey has left me with cherished memories, and a stronger sense of connection to Africa’s past, present, and future. I would wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone seeking not just a holiday, but a life-enriching cultural experience.
