Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. I’m genuinely sorry that you felt the day did not go as smoothly as expected. While I fully accept that the service on the day was not our team’s best performance, I do feel that a 1-star review and some of the statements made do not accurately reflect the situation, so I would like to politely clarify a few points for anyone reading.

Firstly, the move from Plymouth to Torquay was quoted as a full day service, specifically because two trips were required. Another company had suggested the use of a lorry, which would have allowed the move to be completed in one journey. As we explained at the time, we do not operate lorries, so the only way we could complete the job was two trips with our vans. If the move had been a single journey, the job would likely have been closer to 4–5 hours rather than a full day.

When our team arrives at a property, we always take a short time to reassess the contents before loading. This is standard practice in the removal industry and is important for two reasons:
• It allows the team to plan how the vehicle will be packed safely and efficiently
• It helps prevent damage to items during transit by ensuring weight distribution and protection are correct

This quick assessment helps the team avoid issues later when loading larger items.

Your review also states that you were unaware the move might require additional transport, however in the same review you mention that during the quotation you were told one van would take most items if some belongings were placed in your car, which you had agreed to. The option of returning for remaining items was therefore already part of the discussion prior to the move.

When it became clear that everything would not fit comfortably in the first load, the team arranged temporary storage at no additional cost, which had been discussed as a contingency option beforehand. We were fortunate to be able to use our storage network to help resolve the situation quickly.

Where I do agree with your feedback is that the team were not on their usual form that day. It was an extremely wet day and unfortunately some floor protection was not used when it should have been. This has been addressed with the team and I appreciate you bringing it to our attention.

Regarding the items listed as damaged, no damage complaint was ever raised with us at the time or afterwards, which is normally required so we can investigate and resolve it properly.

You also mention the additional time charge. This was part of the signed contract, however after speaking with you on the day we waived the additional charge entirely as a gesture of goodwill, as we agreed the day could have been simpler had the team been operating at their usual standard. At the time this was agreed by both parties as a fair compromise. The review has been left nearly five months after the move (which took place in November).

Finally, regarding payment — our terms state that payment is due upon completion unless paid in advance. If payment is being made by bank transfer, the team must remain on site until it is received unless another arrangement has been agreed. This is standard procedure for many removal companies.

I completely accept that this move did not represent a five-star experience, and for that I am sorry. However, I do believe the service provided was far from a one-star experience, especially considering the significant goodwill shown on the day.

We wish you and your family all the best in your new home and genuinely appreciate the feedback, as it helps us continue improving our service.
