USW-PRO-MAX-16-POE - Appalling software!
I bought a USW-PRO-MAX-16-POE managed switch. Not inexpensive! The software is total garbage. If you think you're log into this switch via a PC browser, you will be disappointed! Gotta download an app. I tired this in both PC and mobile format. It fails to find the switch. Even my IT friend (retired) can't make this sh*te work - something about a Linux container idk. I will just have to use it as an unmanahed switch. Disappointing.
Serious ethical concerns – lack of supply chain responsibility
There is extensive open-source documentation and investigative reporting showing Ubiquiti networking equipment (including recent-year production) being used by Russian forces in Ukraine, reportedly obtained via third-party distributors and rerouted supply chains.
Ubiquiti is a multi-billion-dollar company with global distribution controls and compliance processes. When the same products repeatedly appear in a sanctioned war zone, it raises serious questions about oversight, enforcement, and corporate responsibility.
Even if sales are indirect, ethical responsibility does not end at the reseller level. Customers and investors deserve transparency about what concrete actions are being taken to prevent diversion and sanction bypassing.
Until clear, verifiable steps are communicated, I cannot recommend or trust this company.
Russians supplier no1
This company is making almost all Russian terrorists communication devices
Unstable Software and Unhelpful Support
Nice design and packaging are where they spent all their budget. The software is glitchy, and updates often introduce instability to the point where the device becomes unusable. Support is unprofessional and does not offer any meaningful help. Problems are routinely dismissed or gaslit, leaving you with no real solution. Premium pricing without premium reliability or support. I would never buy from them again and would not recommend them to anyone.
No response from support for weeks
No response from support for weeks. Not Recommended at all. i am switching to another brand for mesh wifi.
Non-existent support
Non-existent support, overrated products, I have had a ticket open for 2 months and no one wants to help you, I'm starting to hate you, soon I think I'll sell all these devices I have and move on to a more serious company
The worst company…
The worst company that could possibly exist. My U6+ broke down exactly one month after the warranty expired. Support keeps giving me the same robotic responses without addressing my specific issue; they are lying to me and manipulating me. The one-star rating is truly well-deserved, and I’m glad this site exists. This is the only site with an honest rating.
Very poor night vision on G5 camera
Just purchased a UniFi express 7 gateway, a UniFi NVR and two G5 cameras after being told these are the best on the market. I’ve had the cameras installed roughly a month now and really disappointed with the night vision on them. If a person walks past the camera at night the image is really poor and people look ‘ghostly’ and pixelated. I spoke with support and they said it’s nothing they can do. I’ve spent a lot of money on the system and basically a wast of money. I’d be better buying a Reolink system as the night vision on there camera is far better and a lot cheaper.
Terrible products, worse customer support
Their updates screw up your devices and they won’t take any responsibility. This company is rude af

Unreliable/Software Very Glitchy
Horrible! You get what you pay for. There is a reason this equipment is so inexpensive. Real software -backed managed networks cost at least $300 for an average AP. Routers at least $400 for mid level. Ubiquity is sooo cheap that it is expected to have issues and not be supported with tech support or even warranties. The interface is just a gimmick
Software glitchy where it regularly cannot locate your current set up system: it shows as non- existent on systems that are just a couple years old.
Go with Araknis or even TP Link
Worst network equipment on the market
Worst network equipment on the market. It either works wonderfully after 40 hours of tinkering, or horribly explodes right out of the box. It will run for about a year then fall apart. Support will tell you to reboot it. That's all they can do. If you RMA it get ready for a shock - they will charge you A LOT and if you think it is risk free to buy it - WRONG there is a huge restocking fee there too. AVOID UNIFI AND UBNT AT ALL COSTS
Great equipment
I've ordered a lot on the past, never had a problem. Great hardware at an okay price. Customer service is definitely lacking but there's a great community that provides support.
Unifi and the unexpected noise issues
I’ve been a long-time Ubiquiti user and own several of their products, including the UniFi UAP-PRO and U6+. While the performance and management interface are excellent, I’ve recently noticed a disappointing issue — both access points began making a high-pitched buzzing or whining noise after just a few days of use.
I use these devices in a work environment, and the noise is noticeable enough to be distracting, especially in a quiet room. I tried different power sources and PoE switches to rule out external causes, but the sound persisted.
It’s a shame because the network performance is great, but hardware noise from what should be silent devices is not what I expected from Ubiquiti. I hope future revisions or firmware updates address this issue, as it seems to be affecting more than one model.
Ubiquiti have ruined what used to be a simple, reliable system
We’ve used UniFi Protect and UNVRs for several years and previously recommended them to clients because they were straightforward, locally managed, and ideal for setting up secure, read-only CCTV viewer tablets.
Since upgrading to UniFi OS 4 + Protect 6, everything has become unnecessarily complicated.
The per-camera access controls have vanished.
The “live-view-only” option no longer exists.
“Share View” and “Camera Access” menus have been removed or hidden without any replacement.
Basic local management has been replaced by cloud-linked identity accounts that add confusion and inconsistency.
Even experienced administrators can spend hours trying to do something that used to take five minutes.
Support eventually confirmed that fine-grained viewer permissions are no longer possible in current releases — a major step backwards for professional deployments.
Ubiquiti’s hardware is still solid, but the new software direction feels like a half-finished identity migration that prioritises cloud integration over practicality.
If you’re running older versions, don’t upgrade until these regressions are fixed.
What was once a dependable, self-contained CCTV platform is now a frustrating, over-engineered system that wastes valuable time.
The company sucks
The company sucks. Absolutely no customer service whatsoever. Nobody to talk with about issues, no phone number, but an email address that goes unanswered. Do yourself a favor and just avoid their products because if you have a problem, it’s gonna be painful.
I ordered equipment from UI store then…
I ordered equipment from UI store then realized the tax exemption was still pending so I cancelled the order. Less than 5 minutes after I put the order in. This was on Saturday 8/23/25. I received an email regarding the cancellation on Monday 8/25/25 and they shipped the order anyway! No phone support, Chat is worthless and now I have to return everything and wait for a refund when I cancelled it the same day! Their customer service is horrible!
