Unique Cottages Avis 

Usually such an amazing stay but a few things missing this time. No toilet rolls left, lack of sanitiser/ soap, no mirrors in bedroom. Just small things but not what we are used to in the house which is as always an idyllic setting for an amazing island retreat. Saying that we did as always have an amazing week and will truly miss the opportunity to stay here in the future.

Never once replied to initial enquiry email, and more since with zero response. Hard to contact over the phone, 3/4 attempts before an answer. Also still waiting on deposit refund. Holiday was great, booking procedure was painful..

Great holiday home, the bothy has everything you need for a home from home holiday. The location is amazing with wildlife and amazing views at every turn. The bothy was warm and cosy and very clean on our arrival. Perfect hide away, peaceful and relaxing.

Lovely cottage, very well equipped and in a beautiful location. Easy booking and dealt with UK wide Covid postponement very efficiently and easily. Would highly recommend.

Cottage was just excellent and spotless. The pictures on the webpage don’t do it justice….whole house is very comfortable and is very well presented and stocked with crockery etc.

It took many attempts to get Unique to confirm our booking in the correct cottage and this they blamed on me using gmail. Admin generally was poor, with misspelt names and incorrect property features. Fortunately we had visited this cottage before so knew what to expect but we would not chose to use Unique again.

Easy to view relevant properties and book via website. Had to rearrange our stay due to Covid but this was not a problem. Staff were very helpful and kept us informed through a very difficult period for all.
Would definitely use Unique Cottages again for our trips to Scotland

I have been booking cottages in Scotland with Unique Cottages for a long time now and never had any problems. Everyone was always friendly and very helpful. Especially when we couldn't come due to COVID and had to cancel, I always felt in very good hands.

We had a fabulous holiday at Carrick View. Comfortable and well equipped property with the best views. Very helpful owner as well. Would return.

The most beautiful place we have ever stayed! Stunning views of the Loch and wildlife including seals and otters that we watched from the veranda. A red squirrel even tapped on the window to say hello! The boathouse was gorgeous and had everything we needed including the most comfortable bed and amazing shower ever! We would definitely recommend and will be back in the future!

The cottage we stayed in we had visited before so we knew what we were getting. It is home from home providing everything you need for a very comfortable stay. It is in a great location and no doubt we will stay there again.

Pulling up outside of Lemara in Port Appin, our hearts sank. The grounds are unkempt and the outside of the property requires maintenance to say the least. Both my husband and I hoped that things would improve once inside. Sadly this was not the case. The entrance (which is described as a sun room) is nothing but a glorified entrance porch, where there is seating for 3 people. This area came with its very own cobweb and spider hanging above the seating. The tv is mounted so high on the wall that you end up with neck pain trying to watch it. The seating in the open plan living area is in fact 2 seats, so should we have invited our 2 friends there would have been insufficient seats for us all. The accommodation is in fact a ground floor flat! This is not clearly stated in the advert had it been we would certainly not have booked it! The property is furnished to a reasonable standard but was not thoroughly cleaned in our opinion. There is a gap under the step in the kitchen area, which leads out of the back door where debris has gathered. Corners and skirting had not been cleaned thoroughly. Nor had the shower tray. Laminate flooring at the side of the bed (in the room with the bath) is poorly fitted and moves when stood on. In addition the steps down into this bedroom are a hazard, I nearly broke my ankle falling off them. No power point near the dressing table area. Having used unique cottages many times in the past, we were struggling to find the standard of accommodation that your company usually offers. We are extremely disappointed with the standard of accommodation this time around and it is doubtful we will stay more than a couple of days as there is very little comfort. It is also doubtful whether we would use unique cottages again.

It was our stay at Gardners Cottage, Old Melrose and we again loved it. The cottage is set in a beautiful private estate with lots of walks local or around Melrose. It’s well maintained, immaculate and has everything you need.

The owners are welcoming and provide help and advice if needed. A fabulous welcome pack with local produce and homemade brownies was a nice touch.

….. same time next year? Absolutely!

The house was as described and all went smoothly.
