Universal Windows Direct - Indianapolis Avis 13

I ordered my windows last year and had 2 windows in my front of my house that have a basic half moon above them. Very standard but they told me they would be more due to the half windows being special ordered. I waited 3 months and windows supposedly came in. Day guys came to install they went ahead and took all my windows out and then installed them. The installer didnt tell me the half moon windows were wrong size and took my windows out anyway without telling ke and tried to do some patch thing that looks like something I would do. Looks so unprofessional and awful
I called them and let them know they needed to correct it and they said they would rush my window order , and in meantime had a guy come out and remeasure them. He said original measurements were way off bc the guy used some auto measures. 12 weeks later again approximately I get a call day that new installation is supposed to happen by the installer and he tells me he isnt coming bc the windows are definitely not the right size again. At this point I was still trying to be patient and told him I felt like I should get compensation based on all of this and the price I paid for my windows. After about another 2 months I called to. Heck on my windows again and they tell me that the company they order from cant makes my windows and they had to order from someone else. I asked the customer service to have someone contact me because at this point I am losing patience. I have had nobody contsct me, no compensation, no front windows that fit and now have let them know if I dont hear something I am filing in court, which I plan to do Monday. Do not use Universal Windows. I thlught goikg with a company would be the best thing to do due to it being a big investment and wish I would have went with someone else. Do not spend the money. They will make you think they have the best windows but these windows havent even helped with our house heating or cooling bills etc and they dont back their product. Please run. I dont want someone else screwed.

Jesse was great to work with. He explained everything he did & was great with our dog. He cleaned up every scrap of debris. Except for the windows, you'd never know he was here. Thank you to Universal Windows for an exceptional product and an amazing installer!

I needed entry door replaced. 12 weeks and thousands of dollars later. I get the wrong door. I will not be using Universal for window replacement if they can’t even get an existing door correct. Very unhappy customer.

From the salesman through to the installation, the whole process was very smooth. I shopped around at several competitors comparing products, prices, installation procedures. Overall, Universal Windows had the best product for right price.
Communication with customer service was great. Knowledgeable and friendly staff who answered my questions throughly.
The windows and slider door I ordered came in within a week of the projected time quoted. With replacing all my windows and back slider I was impressive with how close Universal kept within the time frame.
The installation was amazing. In one 8 1/2 hour day, their team of 5 replaced all my windows and slider door and finished the whole project including the fine trim details not needing to come back and finish up. There team also did a great job cleaning both the outside and inside areas where they had worked.

I have a couple more projects planned in the future and planning to use other branches of Universal for this projects.

The sales pitch was very pushy in the beginning, but they do have a very nice product. We had no trouble with the process at all, customer service was great about keeping in the loop about production and getting my schedule date for installation. The windows look amazing. The crew was very nice, and did great job and answered all my questions. We have one window I’m slightly concerned with and he made us aware that if we have trouble it will be corrected.

Up to actually getting our windows in wasn’t great. It was a major struggle to get a hold of anyone. The actual job though was AMAZING. Grateful for the two guys who came out and did all of the work! They were friendly, kind and got the job done in a timely manner. Thanks guys!

We had a roof installed just over four years ago and shortly thereafter, we noticed shingles were loose and came off the roof and were having leaks where the cedar wood on house went directly into the roof.

They came out and replaced the loose shingles and put a single nail in every shingle that was missing! Poorly executed!

They took pictures of the wood and told me because the wood is old it is the reason for the leaks. Hmm..I think we all know wood shrinks as it gets older and that is why flashing is used to circumvent any water that falls into the corners where this goes into the roof.

They have insisted the roof was installed correctly and won't honor my warranty. Universal Window claims it is my problem. So, my question is why wasn't this made known to us when the roof was installed? Do you want to know why? The installers were not English and at the time, Universal Windows had no contractor in the Fort Wayne, IN area so they installed the roof illegally!; the contractor they now have now in Fort Wayne wants nothing to do with it because he didn't install the roof! The last appointment he made with me he never showed!

We have had nothing but poor service from Universal Windows from the start! I wouldn't recommend them at all! They do a lousy job and will not honor their warranty! I am not asking for the world, I am simply asking they fix the leaks and if that means putting an entire roof on correctly then so be it! I'm sorry to say it but this company sucks!!
