Awnful communication and costumer sercvice
I’ve had an extremely frustrating experience with this company. Communication is consistently poor, important updates arrive late (in one case, I was notified of a service change only 15 days before payments were discontinued), and information is often vague or incomplete.
Customer service has been equally disappointing. After numerous calls, it feels like unhelpful, aggressive, rude and dismissive behavior is not the exception but the norm. It genuinely comes across as a company-wide culture rather than isolated incidents.
Managing escrow and insurance through them has been particularly difficult, confusing, inefficient, and unnecessarily stressful. At times, it feels like you are chasing them for basic support while being treated as if you are an inconvenience.
The only positive note is that the servicing of the mortgage has been eventually transferred to a different provider, which I see as a much needed improvement.
Overall, I strongly recommend staying away. This has been one of the worst customer service and company experiences I have had.
This company is horrible!!!!!!!!!
I would give this shady company a ZERO star if I could. I have had nothing but problems with them. They ruined my credit score by no processing my loan in a timely manner. In addition when I officially sent them a cancelation and intent to withdraw document they sat on the document the day before Freedom Mortgage was about to pick up my loan they erroneously process my loan and paid my previous lender. I am not kidding when I say it took me months YES months to get a hold of the right person in UWM to fix mortgage. I was force to stay with the company for 6 months. I took legal action to get away from this lender. If you are thinking about using them think twice. Do your research.

Kept trying to raise the loan amount…
Kept trying to raise the loan amount when it was previously agreed on a lower amount. Was supposed to get the 2 first month's with no payment but they lied on that. Then lied about the amount in my escrow so I would sign. Called multiple times to try and get it fixed but never got back to me. Go elsewhere if you want to keep your sanity and money. AVOID SEBASTIAN MALLOIAN
Cheap Rate
I got my mortgage through UWM a year ago and the process was very straightforward.
I went through a broker and they did all the heavy lifting.
The only hiccup I had was the appraisal kept cancelling and with my rate lock expiring, it made things very close to the deadline which I did not appreciate.
That being said, this was the cheapest rate I received by a large amount.

Just know it is such a dead end job with a half dollar raise which already change people from one department to the other and require a 11am-8pm shift. Make more at McDonald's then employees working on home loans as they sell mortgages with owner building a mansion on a lake and purchasing the Phoenix Suns. Brother has plans to purchase a baseball team and security escorts employees out.

I just recently closed the docs with my refinance mortgage from Loan Depot. They offered me with zero closing cost and fee. First at started working with Lock it Lending ( broker) which use UWM as the lender. The process was about 3 weeks all work through online and electronic signatures. It is very convenient plus they used the Online Notary for CD. I saved 5.85 APR from 6.99 APR.
Spams strangers with your private financial details
Absolutely useless organisation, sending people's private financial information to unverified - AND INCORRECT - email addresses and then refuse to stop despite numerous emails to their 'not intended recipient' contact address. I am in the UK. I have no connection to this company and I don't intend to rack up an international rate telephone call to tell them to take a running leap.

We have filled out the paperwork 6 times and turned it in. No one can help it is never right even when we do it the way they say they want it done. it doesn't get finished we have been working with them for 6 months. We called and they aren't happy with the copy of the POA this time. We have set them multiple copies and yet it is not good enough. They are the worst to work with. no one can help. They can't let you talk to someone who is working on your mortgage. Every time we call in they have a different person and a different story as to the problem. But the fact is they can't complete a simple thing as an app with multiple tries. They have cost us $1000s of dollars and they don't care. They say they are sorry but nothing changes. They treat us horribly. They have caused a lot of stress and strain on my health and relationships. They are unresponsive and unhelpful.

UWM offers a health plan to force women and children off of Medicaid, but it is the most expensive worthless health insurance program I have ever heard of.
Also, I make 70 cents a hour less, cleaning a kitchen.
HORRIBLE PAY and worst benefits I have ever had.

They don't call back. They cannot figure out what they are doing. We asked for a loan modification. They sent approval letters but no paperwork. We called and they have a approval and denial. They denied for us not sending back paperwork. But they never sent us the paperwork. No one can help us. No one can do anything. They are so difficult to work with

Claiming they are not recieving renewal notices via email/fax; then forcing there account holders to pay inflated home owners insurance that they take it upon them selves to provide!

Horrible and incompetent underwriting. Trying to find one dumb excuse after another to delay ready to close despite having every information requested on hand with excellent credit and zero risk. This is my third loan with UWM and I will avoid them at all costs going forward

Terrible customer service and…
Terrible customer service and management—they canceled my auto-payment and now I have to pay the payments by check or cashier check. It's funny. My loan has a low rate due to the Covid 19 rates, and it seems they are trying to make me stop payment and they can get back whole money, possibly to cause issues for me. I do not recommend them. They will make more hard time for customer.
Representative was great!
The representative we worked with was very good. She expedited our paperwork so that we could close in a timely fashion. The only thing that we felt could have been better was the inability? To make a name change before filing. The middle initial was incorrect and we requested it be changed. Did not get done and we closed anyway.
Consistent wrong information provided that costs $$
Having changed my account details on March 16th, 2023 for my ‘Budget Draft’ payment, there was an issue with my document, March 27th this was clarified and corrected and a payment was made. At this time, I was assured my payments were up to date and the next payment would occur on schedule.
April 14th, 2023 I call as my payment was not pulled as expected. I was told it would take a few days for the withdrawal to be seen in my personal account and that all details were fine and correct.
April 24th, 2023 I call again, asking why my mortgage payments have not been pulled from my account for the month of April. Again, I am reassured and I am confidently told that my account and payments are up to date and the payment will pull on Friday, the 28th of April. Which, by the way, did not happen. I did however receive a voicemail on the 27th asking me to call UWM. It turns out, I was not up to date with payments, surprise!!
When a customer calls multiple times in one month to ask why their payment is not being pulled for their mortgage, should this not create some concern with your staff and perhaps create an investigation as to why?
UWM should be responsible for my mortgage payment for the month in which they repeatedly told me I was up to date. Some of us need to plan and budget.

Been working with UWM for over 15 years as a wholesale loan originator. I have always had an excellent experience with quick underwriting and quick loan funding. Their great rates, programs, and service are why I have used them for many years.
