Scam company

I ordered a light, they took my money and never sent anything. Their customer service was unreachable. I had to claim fraud on my credit card. BUYER BEWARE this has got to be a scam company.

Cheap garbage from China

Cheap garbage from China. Totally a scam site. I ordered blown glass wall lamps that took forever to get here with fake tracking information. When it finally came, the "glass" shades were cheap plastic that didn't look anything like glass and wasnt even see-through. I paid over a hundred dollars each and got something totally worthless and ugly. Can't return due to it coming from China.

This is a scam company. Do not buy!!!

The lamp took over the quoted 5-6 weeks to arrive. I paid the extra $10 dollars for the "Order Armor" which promised ease of refund and protection if the product was faulty. The lamp cost $145 dollars but upon unpacking, I found that it was a very very cheap, low quality lamp. The seams did not line up on the canvas lamp shade, the glue job was terrible, and the metal piece which attached to the wall had loose wiring. I love lamps and buy and rewire them all the time but in my experience, this was a shoddy product that would cost maybe 15-30 dollars in another store (Target, etc.). I immediately requested a return/refund from their info@vakkerlight customer email address. I'm now on my third email from them where they refuse to accept the return and they're offering me first 10%, then 20%, then 25% of my refund despite the fact that I purchased an Order Armor protection for an extra $10 dollars. I'm going to continue writing honest reviews of my terrible experience with this company on social media and other review sites because consumers should know what they're getting into.

I ordered a lamp based on photographs…

I ordered a lamp based on photographs and specifications on their website. After about two months of wait, I received a lamp that was a cheap version of their images and had defects. I immediately wanted a refund because it was not what I paid for and visually looked like a $50 lamp from Walmart. I finally got my money back only after spending months with Vakkerlight 'support' and my credit card company who issued the money knowing that I was duped. Afterwards, Vakkerlight harrassed me with requests to remove any negative reviews on-line, even contacting me at 2, 3 and 4 in the morning with photos of the support staff's supposed newborn infant to gain pity. It was indeed a pityful experience.

Unable to return a chandelier that was never used or removed from its box

I purchased a chandelier for my kitchen, however, after the cabinets were installed, my contractor and I realized that the light is too large and cannot go in the location that I originally wanted to put it. It was never installed or taken out of the box. I want to return it, but they refuse to tell me the cost to return it. Instead they want to offer me 10% to keep it or find another light and pay for its shipping. So, options are buy their product and keep it regardless or give them more money for them to send you another of their products. Feels like a scam. I would avoid buying anything from this company.

Shady shady shady

Shady shady shady! Takes a month or more to ship from China. Their site says they will refund returns without hassle and yet refused to accept an unopened box (that was no longer needed because of how long it took to arrive) because "shipping costs back to China are too high" and instead offered to refund a certain amount, and then a slightly higher amount when we pointed out their return policy. Like, am I negotiating at a flea market? Something is not right with this place.

I'm giving it two stars because I received both lights and they work. That's where their positives end. Don't waste your money and time on this company. The lamps are worth about 15% of their original price. It's a shame I didn't read the reviews before order.

Long wait and false advertising

Long wait and false advertising. Everything is shipped from China, expect a minimum of two months wait. The product description does not match the product, we bought a fan with dimming lights, the lights do not dim, and they won't issue a return label and told us we need to bare the cost of return shipping back to China.

After much back and forth, we finally agreed on them sending us replacement parts to make it dimmable, after waiting for another month. The replacement part is not compatible with the fan. I now have a non working fan after two months wait. Avoid this company at all cost

I have been waiting two months for my…

I have been waiting two months for my two light fixtures. I have reached out several times to this company; they respond by saying that the lights have cleared customs and that they’ll be delivered soon/ I should wait another week. They are unable to tell me where the lights are or where customs is even located. They send screen shots of some fake tracking - clearly filled in randomly -that is in Chinese. The FedEx tracking number continues to have zero tracking information. A total scam; highly disappointed.

Poor Quality

Wall light received. Found material to be flimsy. Base was warped and did not sit flat on wall. I had to put a wedge at bottom to keep lamp from pulling away from wall. Customer service blamed me for installing it wrong to avoid letting me send back for full refund

Update 10/21/2025

Was told a new lamp that I chose as a replacement would be sent. As of today FedEx shows it has not been received after a label was printed 3 weeks ago. Not sure the shipment even exists

I received the replacement light, different model. The original was powered by a plug and switch. The replacement they finally sent has no plug or switch but appears to be made to direct wire. Useless! I didn’t think their service could get worse. I was wrong

Challenging and Chaotic Return Experience

Buyer beware, you will not be able to return a product or get a refund to your card. I ordered a ceiling light and a floor lamp from this company on July 31st and received them on September 10th. The floor lamp could not be assembled due to missing pieces shown in YouTube videos in the product listing. The lamp shade cannot be secured to the lamp base, it just dangles freely.
I reached out to customer service to see if the missing pieces could be sent. They confirmed the missing pieces, however I had stated the lamp was a little small for the space as well. The representative suggested I pick a new lamp and they would deduct the cost of the incomplete lamp from my order... I would just need to pay the price difference plus $230 shipping. I declined, and after 16 emails back and forth, and me showing the representative their own return policy from the website (because I shouldn't need to pay return shipping on a broken item), she changed tactics and responded saying there were no missing pieces at all! This is highly unethical behavior and not the "hassle free returns" advertised on the website. Do not gamble with this company.

Edit: After posting this review I was finally provided a return shipping address to return the lamp. I paid about $30 to ship it to the provided address in Texas. They issued a refund a few weeks later.

If Vakkerlight wishes to have better outcomes going forward they should be direct and forthcoming in providing their customers the address and information to complete a return. They should not spend weeks trying to convince customers not to return an item if requested. They should definitely NOT agree to replace broken/missing pieces and then decide the product is as the manufacturer intended.

The 6-8 week shipping took 10 weeks. I had to email them numerous times to get updates.
My "wooden blade" ceiling fan had cheap plastic blades. I had to email them the description from their own website to get them to correct it.
Products are incredibly cheap for the cost. I paid more than $275 for a ceiling fan.
The instructions are written horribly. Parts were not listed. Even the videos from you tube on their website aren't in line with the instructions.
Lesson learned. Go to home depot or lowes.

This company is a scam. DO NOT PURCHASE from them. They are not shipping from the US which they advertise on their website (they ship from china) returns are not hassle free. Nor do they let you return at all. My lights arrived damaged and a completely different color than what was on the site. I wrote an email less than 1 hour after the lights were delivered. The response from their customer service, was for me to use a razor blade to “scrape” the defect off, that they do not guarantee exact match to what’s advertised in terms of color or material, they told me to hang them anyway and since shipping back to china would be too expensive. then they refused to refund me. I had to work with my credit card company to reverse payment…I provided them with proof that this company is fraudulent. I have since been refunded, I reported them to the FTC. BEWAREEEE terrible company !!!!

Vakkerlight is the WORST company ever

Vakkerlight is the WORST company ever. This company provides cheaply made products with ugly soldering and cheaply made fittings and cheap looking finishes. They do this while charging a pretty high price. When I decided to return the product due to its low quality I have been given nothing but a complete runaround. They will not refund my money even after sending them multiple photos of the bad soldering and sagging arms due to cheap fittings. I would warn against ordering ANY product from this company.

Total scam

Never ordering from here again and…

Never ordering from here again and neither should you! The lights are not as represented online. We received our light and not only is it the cheapest looking thing I’ve ever seen, but it’s rose gold vs yellow gold that was shown online. When I reached out to facilitate a return, I received no reply. I sent several email and even messaged them on their chat and received zero reply. Note sure if they’re a scam company or what but avoid at all costs!!

UPDATE!!: this company has sent me pictures of the light installed somewhere on their end and has the nerve to tell me that it’s exactly as pictured and that I should spend my money to have it installed because it’s “beautiful when installed”and if I still don’t like it that I would have to pay for shipping back to CHINA!!!! So they want me to pay an electrician to install a light that is so cheap, ugly and not as pictured just so that I could see that it’s cheap, ugly and not as pictured. Then they want the customer to pay for shipping to china when it very clearly states they are headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland. They include in every email that they want the customer to be satisfied but I have never had such a difficult time returning something and been treated so poorly. It probably coats more to ship the piece of crap back than it did to purchase it! Never order from here!!! They lie lie lie.

Waited 7 weeks

Waited 7 weeks, product never showed.
While waiting those 7 weeks, I was the only one who initiated contacted. AWFUL experience. HORRIBLE customer service. Now I am waiting for a different lamp cuz the first one never made to me. I asked them to expedite shipping, since it's been 7 weeks of nothing, and they said if i want expedited shipping, i have to pay for it. SHOP ELSEWHERE... do yourself a favor. So Vakkerlight has asked me to update my review since they refunded my money (and they did). But I refuse to NOT express how AWFUL communication is with this company. And the only way that I found out about my product not arriving is because i was constantly reaching out. I stick with my statement.... Do yourself a favor.... and SHOP ELSEWHERE.

Not as pictured

Not as pictured. I wrote this review and they won't publish it. I even gave it 3 stars. I included photos, which have now been stolen and added to their product page.

I ordered the L 23.6" x H 13.8" fixture. They don't actually have that one pictured in the gallery. When you click on the size it takes you to the size up from that in the photo gallery. The fixture I received doesn't have gingko leaves that flow side to side. One half turns in on itself leaving the bright lamps totally exposed with no good flow of porcelain leaves. The lamps sent with the fixture were absolutely huge in comparison to what they show on the page as well. Luckily I had some small lamps in my home that work for now. The directions were also for a different fixture style (not B) and not very informative. If you want the look, pay more for the larger one even if you think the 24x13 is a good size for your space. It'll look funky, otherwise.

The photo for the smallest light on the website is MY photo I added to my review, they have stolen it. Customer service finally got back to me saying sorry and we removed the photo. False. They Photoshopped it. Deleted my review. It also arrived damaged. I sent that information and a photo then they asked for a photo to show damage that I already sent. Terrible customer service. Seems like a complete scam. I want my money back.
